@jpsulley:
It was a beautiful Spring afternoon, which meant townspeople came out to the animal shelter in droves to either volunteer their time and walk the dogs, or find a new furry friend to take home. It was a certainly a busy day, leaving Brooke at the shelter an extra forty-five minutes past closing just to wrap everything up for the evening. The other animal care staff were finishing their last walks and feedings of the day, so the girl thought it would be safe to pop in her Airpods while she filed various adoption paperwork. A short while after the other girls left, Michael Jackson’s Thriller came up next on the playlist and Brooke couldn’t help but put on her own personal concert now that they were gone. Using a microchip scanner as her microphone, Brooke filed paperwork, moonwalked, and heehee’d to her hearts content, when finally she turned around to find her father standing on the other side of the front desk - she had completely forgotten he was picking her up today. Brooke’s stomach dropped seeing him there with that dumb dad smile on his face; he wasn’t going to let this go easily. She cleared her throat, trying to play it casual while preparing herself for what was to happen next. "H-how long have you been standing there?" she winced.
