I know you’re not trying to ignore me, Sam Mehta. Sameeer. What the hell are you going to do about Addison? Are you doing anything? ‘Cause right now all I see you doing is drinking-- In fact, that’s all I ever see you doing. How many more kids are gonna have to go missing before you guys figure something out? Sam? Sam!
“Danielle,” he said, not looking up from the beer (his third that night) between his hands as he slumped over the bar. “Please. Shut the hell up.” Were he not so annoyed, he would have been surprised to hear the words coming from his mouth, but anyone who knew the big mouthed Buckshot employee knew that she never heard a damn thing that was said to her. How could she when she was always too busy talking? That, plus the fact that he couldn’t even look in her general direction without being told how to do his job had his last nerve packing up to leave town.
Her finger shot out to the corner of the bar. Either you take my advice and question him or I’m going to the chief.
What he wouldn’t have given for another bar in town... Just one.
His gaze lifted to meet hers and followed the direction of her finger, where he found Diego sitting alone in a booth watching one of the many screens playing that night’s football game.
He knows what happened, Sam, I just know it. And if you don’t fuckin’ do something there’s going to be Hell to pay.
Sam stood, lazily dragging his glass off the bartop as he did so, and walked over to where Diego was situated. Without warning he slid into the booth across from him, directly beneath the large television screen.
