Being distracted and sleep deprived while being such a physical major as Ella was, had definitely some risks to consider. Of course, Ella didn’t. She believed she could handle it, sleep only a few hours every night (no more than three or four on the best case scenario), train by herself, do homework, try to keep up with some sort of social life and on top of it all, go to class. She was weak too, unable to stand for a long time, let alone fight. It had been on a sparring match where she had been defeated, not by punch or a kick, but betrayed by her own body who couldn’t exactly stay on its feet, landing her ass on the mat. It would’ve been alright, had she not fallen directly on her wrist, bending it at a weird angle that surely was very much far from normal. Ella rolled onto her side, cradling her hand as she tried her best not to cry, though she was sure she had dropped a couple tears already.
“Go to the infirmary, you can’t go on like this,” the teacher had said with a certain disappointment in her, which Ella felt twice as bad. She got up and nodded without arguing like she normally would. With her hand to her chest, Ella dragged herself down the long hallway to the infirmary only to realize it wasn’t open. How fucking convenient, Ella thought and surely mumbled to herself as she slammed her head against the wall, only to realize she wasn’t exactly alone in the space anymore. (( @dcminictaylor ))
