Things to keep in mind while appearing in November 2020 CA Examination during COVID-19 Pandemic

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has issued certain guidelines-cum-announcements for examinee students who are appearing in CA Final Examinations in November 2020. Every candidate shall keep the following points in mind at the time of reaching the examination centre for appearing in exams.

Face Masks:

Every Student is required to wear masks at all the time at the Examination Centre;

Social Distancing:

Every student must maintain social distancing at all the times at the Examination Centre before, during and after the exam time;

Sanitization:

Every Student must carry with them a small transparent bottle of hand sanitizer for personal use during the exam time;

Hands of every student must be sanitized before entering the examination centre/hall;

Also, the hands of every student must be sanitized before and after they using lavatory(Toilet);

Apart from this, the Examination Centers will be duly sanitized on every examination date. Sanitizers will also be kept/installed at the entry of centre, entry of examination centres, exam halls, washrooms and/or every other prominent place as well.

 Thermal Scanning:

Every student will undergo a thermal scanning before entering the examination centre/hall;

During the thermal scanning, if it is found that any student has a higher temperature (which may be a symptom of fever), in that case,the examinee student will not be allowed to enter Examination Centre. However, the student will be permitted to enter the examination hall, if he or she produces a valid Medical Certificate to the effect that the Fever is not on account of COVID – 19. The certificate must be issued by a Medical Practitioner having an MBBS Degree or more and it is to be submitted at the examination centre at the time of entry.

Points related to Examination Centre:

Every student must reach their respective examination centre at least 1 hour before the exam time.

No student shall be allowed to enter the examination centre premises/examination hall unless they are wearing a mask. In case, the students are not wearing a mask at the time of entry and/or during the conduct of the exam, the Institute will make the necessary arrangement of the mask on a need basis only.

Apart from this, all the Examination functionaries will also take necessary precautions for COVID-19 & take CA Pendrive Classes.

What if a student’s residence comes under a containment zone during the Examinations period?

In such a case, the student has the option to “opt-out” of the examinations by submitting a copy of said notification/order of competent authority and he or she will be shifted to the next examination cycle along with all benefits in terms of carrying forward of fee, exemption etc. which he or she carried during this period.

 What if any Examination Centre comes under a containment zone either before the beginning or in between the examination dates?

In such a case, the institute will take necessary steps to shift all the students to the nearby examination Centre in the non-containment zone. However, if there is an unavailability of Centre nearby, students of the respective centre will be shifted to the next Examination cycle along with all benefits in terms of carrying forward of fee, exemption etc. which they carried during this period.

 What if a particular city may not be able to conduct examinations due to the high magnitude of the outbreak of COVID - 19 cases?

In that case, all the students appearing for exams in such a city will automatically be shifted to the next Examination cycle along with all benefits in terms of carrying forward of fee, exemption etc.which they carried during this period.
