so jaime was born in hardcore conservative seneca, south carolina, and literally from the get go it was just Bad News. since he was very very young he was sort of ~aware that he didn’t feel totally comfortable in his skin. he was always drawn to “““girly””” things, wanted to wear skirts and dresses, liked playing with his mom’s makeup, played with dolls instead of cars, all that good stuff. in particular though he usually just felt a lot more comfortable being around girls when he was little and he experienced ( and continues to experience ) a bit of dysphoria sometimes. most of the time it’s not bad and he feels alright in his body, but now and then it hits hard and he just sort of goes into anxiety mode and during those times he will go to his closest friends for comfort and validation
he’s almost always wearing skirts and dresses tho and pastels are his aesthetic
his pronouns are flexible! he’ll go by he/she/they/whatever. he is a genderfluid lil bb and very much appreciates being validated in his femininity
he has wonderful amazing parents which is very lucky for him because they made it extremely easy for him to start coming to terms with who he is, and especially growing up in a place where people weren’t inclined to be open-minded about lgbtq+ people, they provided a safe place for him to explore everything inside their home. unfortunately by the time he was 10 they started to realize it wasn’t gonna work out bc jaime was beginning to get adamant about dressing himself and wanting to wear dresses to school and so that was when the bullying really started. it worked out that his dad got an amazing job teaching philosophy at a uni in bangor, maine, so they moved nearby to dexter ( where his dad grew up ) when jaime was 11 and it wasn’t PERFECT but it was a lot better than being in the south
there was still struggle ofc, and by now jaime’s p much aware that there will always be a little struggle, but he has very much learned to embrace himself and be rly proud of who he is and ( most of the time at least ) be v content with himself and who he’s become
