This song in all honesty was one of the few main components in making Toska in the first place! You could even say it’s his theme songs at this point lol

In my opinion, it’s like a showcase of his mindset while in the Shadow Company together with Graves and the CO. It’s a reference to how he is driven hard to the ground like a racehorse, being exploited for all he got because in Graves’ eyes, he’s more of a tool than anything else and by that shouldn’t ’feel’ tired at all.

From the other coin side the repeated:

‘I’m always tired, I just can’t fight it / I’m always picking up my body’

in my opinion, is a great example of the fight between Hound (the pre Las Almas mentality aka Brainwashing) and Toska (healing post joining 141) mentality. Tbh the whole song is like a Jekyll and Hyde kind of example in my opinion! :D

Also the line:

‘You’re making me blind, yeah, you gotta stop’

feels like something that could’ve been addressed to Graves specifically, during one of Toska’s mandatory ‘appointments’ where he would be more or less turned inside out and in the end lose more of his autonomy and humanity during the process.

Overall the whole song applies to 141! Toska as well with him being alienated in the beginning because of the forced ‘habits’ he acquired during his stay at the Shadow’s HQ (tbh this is ending up like a custody battle between 141 and Graves at this point lmao).

(Extremely) Short descriptions of the characters;

Hussar: A freshly promoted brigadier general within the Polish special force unit GROM, who has close relations with Task Force 141, especially concerning a bucket hat wearing someone.

Toska: Former subordinate of Commander Phillip Graves, taken under “custody” by TF141 and a victim of the MK ULTRA process.

Florian: A young man from Berlin, who ends up in Moscow trying to find out what happened to his father and the people he took to discover what or who used nuclear missiles in the assumed to be dead city.

Caron: Assumed to be dead but isn’t sibling to the scoia’tael leader Eldain.

Marceau: A Katakan pup trying to blend in with the humans after running away from his abusive home, who ends up in the lion's den in the form of the Blue Stripes.
