Heroes vs monsters chapter 1: who's watching you?
It was a late night in musutafu, and punching hero: death arms was out on patrol, with not a villain in sight. He hated to admit it, but this was kind of boring.
"Hm...looks like the villains have taken the night off around here...but no matter, a hero must remain vigilant, no matter what!" He mumbled to himself. He couldn't believe it, he was so bored that he was talking to himself.
Suddenly, something caught his attention, a noise could be heard from within a nearby abandoned warehouse. It sounded like something being knocked over.
"What was that?" He said, turning his head to to where the noise was coming from. He felt conflicted. Should he go in to investigate? One hand hand, there could be a villain inside, on the other hand, it may have just been a stray animal, like a cat or civet.
"Ah what the heck, I need some action tonight, and besides, no harm is just investigating if it is just a stray animal. Better safe than sorry."
And so, the punching hero prepared to enter. He charged up a a powerful right hook and smash the door open.
"Hello? Is anybody in here? Don't be alarmed! I'm a hero!" He called out.
No answer.
He further investigated, unaware that he was being watched.
As he searched the premise, his nose caught a whiff of something that smelled like...vanilla?
'Is someone running a secret bakery in here or something?' He thought to himself before he stepped in something that glued his foot to the ground.
"What the-ew...what is this stuff?" He said, trying to pull his foot free. "Come...on!" He strained, eventually having to take his shoe off to free himself.
"Jeez, what was that?" He said, looking up to see this sticky vanilla glue scattered about the warehouse. Okay, this definitely was the work of a villain.
Death arms got back up and into a fighting stance, his voice becoming booming and authoritative.
"Alright villain! Come out from wherever you're hiding and surrender peacefully! Nobody has to get hurt!"
Again, met with nothing but dead silence.
Death arms growled at the lack of respomse, scanning the room, until he saw it.
In the moonlight, he could make out a faint shadow moving toward the door.
He gasped, and the figure realized it had been caught, prompting it to uncloak itself.
Now, this burly hero has certainly seen some odd looking villains, but nothing could prepare him for what he saw next.
It looked like some kind of chameleon, only bigger than a komodo dragon, and it had six legs, and three eyes, the left one blue, the middle one green, and the right one red, it's snout like a crocodile, and it's feet were gecko-like. The creature's movements were tense, quick, erratic, and jittery. It's eyes were all darting in different directions. It's tongue flicked out repeatedly as if tasting the air, only pausing a bit to lick it's eyeballs, making death arms shudder. There was a moment of tense silence between the two of them, which was quickly broken by death arms.
"Wha-what the hell are you?" Death arms asked, trying his damnedest to mask his fear at this...thing.
Suddenly, the crestures colors turned bright, as if it was angry, and to the pro hero's suprise...it spoke!
"Leave me alone!" It shouted in a somewhat nasally and raspy voice(think steve buscemi's voice performances).
Suddenly, the creature shot something out of it's mouth, lightning fast, too fast for death arms to even see, jabbing him in the arm and reeling back into it's mouth.
"Ow!" The hero winced, clutching his arm. It felt like getting a shot at the doctor. Suddenly he felt nauseaous, and very dizzy. "What...what's happening...I don't feel so good...what did you do to me?" He asked, before collapsing to the ground. He couldn't pick himself up, hard as he tried.
It felt like the room was spinning.
"You...you won't get away with this...villain..." he mumbled, but the creature was already long gone.
The hero laid there like a drunk alcoholic after one too many drinks waiting for someone to help...
To be continued...
