had a great weekend in the west virginia woods!
i did get bitten by a tick, which scared the ever living fuck out of me and i kind of (very much so) had a breakdown about it, but we all had tick keys and my husband was able to get it off of me before it burrowed so i’m okay. my husband and a couple of our friends got ticks on them too, but i was the only one who got bitten and needed a key so that still sucked pretty hard. it does still hurt a little but at least it didn’t burrow and i don’t have a bullseye. and that’s why i’m as okay as i am about it, even if i am still a little shaken even though it happened on friday.
there was also a lot of rain but we still got to be in the woods, still got to hang out together with a lot of my favorite people (and my favorite dog, as one of my best friends brought her shiba inu), still got to eat amazing communal food with an amazing community, and even still got to go tubing in the tygart valley river just before the storm hit. so all in all, i still really needed this. and i still have a migraine as i have for over five months now, but it actually was the lowest level of pain it’s been at since it started. i also took tomorrow off from work for a recovery day.
so yeah, the weekend had its ups and downs and i am very glad to be home, but i am still very glad i went. i did really need that.
