A camp for teens with mental health challenges promised tension and personal stakes. I expected unease - and got it in spades.

Post-Reading

As I thought… Penny’s POV - her intrusive thoughts, OCD, and fear of causing harm - creates a claustrophobic, emotionally charged perspective. The other girls’ histories add horrifying weight to the story without ever feeling gratuitous.

It surprised me by… The tension is relentless. You can almost taste it thickening, and the line between what’s real and imagined blurs perfectly. By the end, fear feels immediate and personal.
