This Igloo Hotel is abandoned in Alaska.

It dates back to the 1970s and was originally built to serve as a 58 room hotel, restaurant and roadside attraction. Unfortunately, due to its unique structure, it was never able to meet code and never completed.

So as of 2025, it remains vacant. Vandalized from the inside out. Ever since its construction, the building has gone through multiple owners, all who had big plans of turning into something but none that were able to succeed.

I've heard recent plans include turning into a distillery but I'll believe it when I see it. I'd love to see it revived in some way but is it even possible? Source

Started reading Cantwell's Iron Man run again bc I'm a masochist I guess and I love how even if you try to avoid looking at the terrible characterization of Tony, the plot both forces it into your face and does not work at all.

You have Korvac playing at being Jesus 2.0 vs Tony, who in theory, would maybe add some interesting contrast to this, considering he's Tony "I know gods are real I just don't put my faith in them" Stark.

But instead we get ?? Tony questioning himself and almost believing Korvac is right??

And in theory, this should be a big thing? Or at least something that is dwelled upon. I feel like the weight of this is just brushed over like ooooo the hero is uncertain if he's on the right side ooooo. But the very concept of Tony just, out of the blue questioning if Korvac is right has zero buildup, and he has no reason at all to even be questioning this. Tony isn't stupid, and Korvac has done nothing to even justify this thought crossing Tony's mind.

This plot point doesn't even seem to stand for itself, because in the very next issue it's resolved when Tony is injured. And somehow this is... Enough for him to realize Korvac is just hurting people and thinking himself justified?

This text is so... Meaningless. It resolves nothing, it doesn't acknowledge any sort of internal conflict Tony was going through about Korvac, and resolves him struggling with how other people have been looking down at him when... Him getting hurt by Korvac has nothing to do with that?

Tony Stark got his neck broken and somehow the anger from that got him to overcome being upset at how society views him (When this has never been an issue for his character. His entire life people have viewed him incorrectly and looked down on him starting with Howard instilling Tony's first inner demons into him.) and he's done questioning whether Korvac is.... a god..... when this shouldn't even be causing him strife in the first place..... because he knows gods exist......... he is Friends With Thor..... he just doesn't worship them or put faith in them........... but alright.

(Also I love how fake deep they try to get with all the Jesus imagery when that's all it is. Imagery. It never goes deeper than this and it feels as surface level as it looks so it comes off like a van full of christian conservatives is driving by everytime Korvac and co get any focus in the plot)

'Crying Nazi' Christopher Cantwell found guilty of extortion in rape threat case

Prosecutors said Cantwell sent a series of threatening messages to find the leader of an online group who he believed was harassing him online.

Christopher Cantwell, known for his involvement in the violent "Unite the Right" 2017 rally in Virginia, was found guilty Monday in a case related to a rape threat and extortion using the online messaging app Telegram.

Cantwell, 39, was convicted of one count of transmitting extortionate communications and one count of threatening to injure property or reputation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Hampshire. The jury found him not guilty of a cyberstalking count.

Prosecutors said Cantwell sent a series of threatening messages because he believed members of an online group called the “Bowl Patrol” had been harassing him online. Cantwell sought the leader of the group, someone who went by the name “Vic Mackey,” and harassed an unidentified individual for the information.

Cantwell threatened to “dox” the individual, a practice of posting someone’s personal contact information online, and report the person to child protective services in a number of messages between June 15, 2019, and June 17, 2019, the U.S. attorney's office said.

“So if you don’t want me to come and f--- your wife in front of your kids, then you should make yourself scarce,” one message said. “Give me Vic, it’s your only out.”

Prosecutors said they presented evidence during trial that Cantwell followed through on his threats to dox the individual and made a report to child protection authorities in Missouri.

The conviction should serve as a warning for anyone using the internet to send such messages, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Murray for the District of New Hampshire said.
