imagine: you’re a little cheese man. your lord has told you that you’re attacking captain annabelle cheddar and duchess primsy coldbottle, aka his new wife, so you get into a rowboat and row up alongside the colby in a storm. right away your captain is killed, so you hop off the boat, take a few stabs, realize the colby is sinking and you’re on it, and you hop back into your rowboat and head for a smaller target. where’s lord curdeau? oh, there he is flying off the crow’s nest. not ideal. why is my ally in the water? oh this weird floaty guy just knocked him into the water with sugar magic. not ideal. so you scoop up your friend and come up alongside this sugar monk to try and stop him from icing any more of your buddies and you don’t do a good job because he’s killed two more and now there’s a giant gummy bear in full armor on your boat killing more. then the storm knocks the gummy bear knight off your ship so it’s like okay, you kind of have a chance, one of the big ships is lost and the other one is sailing away without us but let’s attack the floaty guy surely he can’t kill all of us- FUCKING WHAT the gummy bear knight just FLEW out of the water and blocked me with his shield okay that’s fine it’s just me and dave left, how are you doing dave, what say we surrender? cool great we surrender- DAVE NO! at that point i think the last cheese sailor was fine with jet killing him he had nothing left to live for.

Painting portraits is a unique opportunity to capture the beauty that I see in a person (in this case, I was also inspired by the gorgeous lighting and costuming in the Bastille scene) and put it on display for other people to appreciate.To be honest, it was also an excuse to stare at Michael Sheen’s face for dozens of hours. :D

Honestly my ultimate goal is to one day be able to paint portraits that scream “LOOK. JUST LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUS PERSON. PLEASE APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF THIS HUMAN BEING.”
