Leyduin-lezing over Buitenplaats De Hartekamp

Tijdens deze lezing op zondag 9 juli in Huis Leyduin hoor je alles over de geschiedenis van de buitenplaats en de bekendste bewoner Carolus Linnaeus. Bijzondere verhalen over de buitenplaats Eén van de belangrijkste buitenplaatsen in Zuid-Kennemerland is de Hartekamp, dat op de grens van Heemstede met Bennebroek ligt. De Hartekamp is wereldberoemd geworden door het tweejarig verblijf van de botanicus Carolus Linnaeus. In die tijd was de buitenplaats in eigendom van de steenrijke bankier George Clifford. De presentatie van de gids van Landschap Noord-Holland bestaat uit twee onderdelen: De Hartekamp van hofstede naar een prestigieus buitenplaats In dit deel wordt de ontwikkeling van het huis vanaf begin 17e eeuw tot heden besproken en wordt verteld wie de bewoners waren. Carolus Linnaeus In dit deel wordt kort verteld wie Linnaeus was en wat hij tijdens zijn verblijf op de Hartekamp in opdracht van George Clifford gedaan heeft en hoe dit leidde tot het schrijven van de Hortus Cliffortianus. De Hortus Cliffortianus is een boek van Carl Linnaeus, over het herbarium en de levende plantencollectie van George Clifford. Tijdens de presentatie in Huis Leyduin zal gebruik gemaakt worden van oude tekeningen, landkaarten en foto’s.
