Continuation of This
How long had they been in each other's lives now? Days, weeks, months? It was unclear to Cassie and that's what got to her the most. She had grown comfortable with him, with the thought of him being in her life-- a constant in her ever changing world. Even if she didn't have much time left... not that she had shared this information with him or anyone for that matter.
Cassie figured it would be better to hurt him now rather than later, to push him away. To keep him safe from any harm that could happen from him. From her being in his life that was dangerous enough to the thought that if she stuck around she would only hurt him when he found her dead in an alleyway. She was running out of time. It was now or never to shove him away on her own terms-- to get him to walk away from her. To keep him safe even if she truly enjoyed him the short bit he was in her life.
So she had went to push him away with quite the argument, having went to to finally storm out with tears blurring her vision. She was going to walk away, she was going to sever ties with him-- and yet she hadn't seen this coming. Out of all the possibilities she could see in her future she didn't see this. Him stopping her from leaving by shoving her up against the nearest wall.
Cassie let out a squeak of a gasp when he had grabbed her and she felt the wall behind her back. The warmth of his body pressing up against her keeping her between him and the wall. She would have fought or got violent but any intention of doing so went out the window the moment she found his lips against hers. She hadn't expected it and most of all the watcher hadn't seen it. She had been genuinely caught off guard and the whole charade went up in flames in that instant.
Her hands found their way to his shirt and gripped it tightly as she pulled him forward, returning the kiss. Words hadn't kept her from leaving, but this way seemed to stall her at least for the time being. Lips moving against his almost desperately needy and her walls crumbling, a mixed bag of emotions filtering through. The way she clung to his shirt, the way she had so easily succumb to his actions-- she didn't want to leave, to hurt him even if she had said harsh things or turned cold with her words... her actions said differently. The way her body trembled in the slightest, losing her resolve quickly dissipating.
It would be better to walk away now... better for him to watch her go now. And yet... she couldn't find the ability to push him away; to leave. Maybe if she had got a Pusher's abilities instead of a Mover's this would have been all so much easier. Less heart ache for both of them, but mainly him...
