YESSSSSSS SHIP OF ALL TIME SHIP OF ALL TIME SHIP OF ALL FUXKING TIME
hmm, 5, a dc pairing of your choice??
okay i think for this i have to go with cassie/rose. and since there're superpowers involved it's some kind of magic bond deal... ooh let's say that it's one of the ones where like they can't be further than like five feet away from each other or they start to be in excruciating pain or w/e?
so obviously this happens after a mission gone wrong. rose sasses an alien witch or smt and she and cassie wind up bound together. this results in a lot of arguing and fighting and all the other titans running for cover. and then cassie and rose experiment with how far away from each other they can manage to be, which isn't very far at all.
so a lot of arguing happens but then they declare a truce and then something happens that makes cassie realize that there's this whole side to rose that she's never seen--and rose is forced to confront the fact that she admires cassie and really wants to touch her butt.
ALSO. ust. lots of ust. fighting angry and then realizing how close they are and staring at each other's mouths type ust.
cassie/rose?
big spoon/little spoon: rose is the little spoon. she puts up a token protest sometimes but she LOVES getting spooned
favorite non-sexual activity: footrubs. also complaining. and arguing. and sparring.
who uses all the hot water: cassie
most trivial thing they fight over: rose sometimes just picks fights bc she likes arguing with cassie
who does most of the cleaning: rose i think. just sort of a weird habit she doesn't rly think about
what has a season pass on their dvr/who controls the netflix queue:
who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: cassie. the landlords tend to not be ok with death threats
who steals the blankets: rose
who leaves their stuff around: rose. rose kinda just likes leaving her mark on things and like, sprawling all over the couch bc she can
who remembers to buy the milk: rose does a lot of little caretaking things just sort of automatically; it's sort of habit from the time she used to be a live-in babysitter for lian.
who remembers anniversaries: rose lol. cassie just tends to be pretty focused on the task at hand and forget about background stuff like that
See I imagine it the other way. Something like that scene where Rose uses Eddie to light her cigarette and teasing Cassie and then Cassie just loses it. Rose finding it mildly comical. I'm gonna stop talking now
oh no i can totally see that too? rose totally loves teasing people and sexually frustrating them and being less the ravager than the ravished hehee. and she'll smirk up at cassie and get her to just *take* what she wants and yeah, rose is all over that.
BUT at the same time she gets sooooooooooooooo jealous when cassie flirts with other girls or when other girls flirt with cassie? and she just wants to be like you're MINE no one else gets to see you like this blah blah blah
it goes both ways haha. they tease each other and sexually frustrate each other and slam each other into walls bc yes
i want a high school au where cassie/rose. like rose has had a crush on cassie since middle school but in secret
and like in middle school cassie was That Awkward Girl, super awkward and gangly and fannish and a big nerd. but then in high school she grows into herself a little bit and joins the basketball team and they nickname her wonder girl and she starts their school's queer alliance
and rose actually had her shit more or less together in middle school (like, as much as anybody does) but then in eighth grade her brother dies and everything goes to shit with her family, like her parents divorce and her dad's trying to fight her mom for custody and it's all a big stressful awful mess and she has an awkward goth phase freshman year and nobody wants to talk to her anymore and then hmm i can't decide but MAYBE
rose moves in with her mom and it means she switches school districts and it's a fresh start and nobody knows her story or anything. and she joins their basketball team and SHE AND CASSIE ARE RIVALS but she's been in love with cassie since she was like THIRTEEN, GODDAMN and at the same time she's like "ugh everyone thinks she's so perfect now!!!" because secretly she's like REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE CUTE AND AWKWARD. LIKE ME. DO YOU REMEMBER.
and when cassie finally notices her it's as a rival annnnnnd like she TRIES to be a you know, diplomatic basketball captain or whatever, but rose is mean and snarky and cassie is really competitive so it's this ridic rival thing it's wonderful
AND THEN MAYBE LIKE, MAN IDK, CASSIE'S TEAM'S BUS BREAKS DOWN AFTER ONE OF THEIR GAMES. and cassie doesn't have a car. and like maybe things are awkward with her teammates because she broke up with cissie a while back and now cissie's dating anita and it's just awkward okay cassie loves them both but feels really weird about it. and maybe cassie's just like "no you guys can go, i'll find a ride, don't worry about it"
which basically means she ends up sitting around trying to text people for a ride (tim offers to do it but like he's like an hour away because he's visiting his brother, and donna's at college, and cassie's mom's at work). so she's trying to google city bus schedules on her phone and rose comes by (things are awkward with rose and her mom so rose just...hangs around sometimes, avoiding going home) and snarks at cassie for a while before
mentioning
that she has a car
and that she could take cassie home it's not that far out of her way, if cassie's too much of a loser to score her own ride
anyway on the drive home it's a little awkward but also rose is pretty funny and makes cassie laugh and rose smiles about it awkwardly and wow it turns out they have a lot in common? and maybe cassie challenges rose to one on one basketball at the court in cassie's neighborhood's park and rose is like you're on, gigantor
AND THEY PLAY FOR A WHILE AND THEN MAYBE LIKE ROSE ACCIDENTALLY BUMPS INTO CASSIE AND KNOCKS THEM OVER AND THEY HAVE A SEXUAL TENSION MOMENT WHERE ROSE IS LEGIT JUST ON TOP OF CASSIE STARING AT HER MOUTH
what if i asked for another one is that allowed. um naval captain cassie/pirate queen rose
always
Sparks crackle as their blades crash, and neither is afraid; they are playing, now, as they leap across sea-slick wood.
Red cloth is slashed, and white hair whips freely in the wind; worn medals are torn from their place, scattering across the decks.
For the first time in an age, the weary captain is enjoying herself, and only the pirate knows.
roy/dick, tim/jason, cassie/rose, lois/diana :]
Roy/Dick: This is probably my number one Dick ship. And I have a lot of Dick ships. I think their mutual crushing began way back in the first Titans but they didn't really do anything about it? Dick was a lot more oblivious back then, and also a bit repressed, and Roy was insecure. Neither of them knew quite what they were feeling, or that the other was feeling it.
But they grew closer, and as Dick grew he became more aware of his own and other peoples' emotions, and he was there for Roy through the darkest time in his life. And Roy thought it would make Dick think less of him when really it did the opposite.
And Dick was there with him when he went to find Lian. (Just as Jason was there with him when he found out Lian existed. Roy and Robins, really.) That really - their bond was strong before, as friends and comrades with so much unresolved attraction, but having Dick beside him as he became a father, and Dick seeing Roy become that - it really strengthened and transformed their relationship.
I'm not sure when, precisely, it was finally consummated. Somewhere in between Dick's relationships and Roy's flings. They keep coming together and drifting apart. They both have their own issues that get in the way. But they never stop loving each other.
Tim/Jason: I see this a lot more easily on Tim's side. Dick was the one he imprinted on, I think, when it came to attraction. But by the time he saw Jason as Robin, he was growing up, and it wasn't tied up in awe and obsession and trauma. Well, there was obsession, but not at the same level. Tim became enthralled with the way he fought, and the way he flew, and the way he smiled.
So in a way, Jason was his first crush.
And Jason was the first person he lost.
When he was Robin, Jason became - something to guide him, something to aspire to. It pained him terribly to look at that case, but he couldn't tear his eyes away.
And then Jason came back, and Jason hated the sight of him. Not only was he replaced without a second thought - he was replaced by some rich brat. Obviously they'd think someone like that was better than him. Obviously this kid had looked down on him from the start.
And Tim was too devastated by this to try to sympathise, to understand. But he was still drawn to Jason, because those feelings didn't just disappear.
Part of him still desperately wanted to see that smile again.
I think, if Jason knew why Tim wanted to be Robin, and how hard it was to convince Bruce, and how much he looked up to him, it might change his perceptions, and - well, it might be a start. I also think Jason would enjoy the sheer challenge of Tim - of figuring out what makes him tick and how to make him react. And in some ways, Tim is dangerous, and Jason would enjoy that too.
I also think that if Tim looked past his own angst, he could understand where Jason's coming from.
They're two very different people, but that could be a benefit as much as a hindrance. They could balance each other, offer different perspectives.
Cassie/Rose: I honestly haven't read much of Teen Titans - just scans and the odd issue here and there. So I can't say much for the actual, chronological development of their relationship.
But good lord. Rose aching for Cassie's acceptance, vying for her attention, constantly pressing for a reaction, talking about her to everybody. What else am I supposed to take away from this?
And Cassie is attracted despite herself, because Rose's sheer passion is just - it's something she's always been drawn to, and something she misses in herself. And she feels for Rose, she really does.
I don't think their relationship would be, well, smooth, but I think it could be good for them. Rose - really needs someone to love and support her, and Cassie needs someone who just. Doesn't expect her to be perfect, encourages her to let loose sometimes. I think - this is really sentimental but I think they could help make each other whole again.
Lois/Diana: YES. Let's be real here my automatic reaction to women being pitted against each other either in the text or in fandom is SHIP IT. But like - the first time Lois meets Diana, in the arc where representatives from Man's World are invited to Themyscira - she's basically enthralled by her. And Diana is clearly impressed by her.
And Diana has a lot of the same qualities Lois is attracted to in Clark: courage, sincerity, conviction, selflessness compassion. Meanwhile, Diana really admires Lois for breaking barriers and forging her own path. She would very much appreciate her dedication to the truth.
So just, basically, yes.
