3) What is your favorite decade/era to play?
This is tough because I like so many! But if I had to pick some, I would say the 20s, 60s, and 70s. The 20s ended up being a really fun time in my decades challenge (despite all the drama), and I really enjoyed having the opportunity to explore the slightly more androgynous gender expressions of the time. Then the 60s and 70s just ended up being really fun fashion-wise and culture-wise. It was nice playing queer and trans characters that could be slightly more open than those in past generations.
4) What is your least favorite decade/era to play?
Hands down my least favorite is almost always the 1900s. I just find it too similar to the 1890s, with nothing really unique to make it stand out among all the decades.
19) What mods/CC are essential for historical gameplay?
Definitely mc command center is a must have. It makes it really easy to modify sims and run spare households. The only drawback is that it did mess up my main decades challenge tree with the amount of children and affairs it generated lol
I also really like woohoo wellness and wonderful whims for my gameplays too, especially because they create interesting relationship drama and allow me to set gender preferences for the characters.
Lastly, the enlist in war mod is always good for the war gens, as is basemental drugs for later decades (e.g. 60s and 70s)
20) Share a “behind the scenes” fact or story about your save file/challenge
I unfortunately don't have time at the moment to create a story, but I can share some interesting facts!
So Pauline and Lyle got married right after she graduated from school (she was a year younger than him), and they ended up moving to New York. Living in the city, Lyle worked as a writer and Paulie as a scientist actually! They ended up having like six children too I think 😅
