The insurance company sent a clean up crew who tore our basement apart and dried it out and then 80% of the settlement we got went directly to cover the enormous clean up bill so we ended up having to try to fix it ourselves out of pocket. It happened right at the end of six weeks of being on strike and doing picket duty at a garbage dump in the summer. Memories...
ugh that’s horrible. I think I’m going to pretend I didn’t see this until tomorrow. ;) why do we have to do this adult crap anyway?

Eek. My basement once flooded and it was a huge pain in the ass. Hope you get this straightened out quickly with minimal aggro.

I just heard that following an in depth inquiry, experts have said that the cause of the ceiling collapse at London's Apollo was weak old material. I know Mark Haddon's play "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" was based on the 1892 Sherlock Holmes story Silver Blaze, but it just seems a bit harsh to blame the play-write....

Concorde Hotel ceiling caves in
SHAH ALAM, March 14:
A portion of the ceiling of a hotel here believed to be undergoing upgrading works collapsed on Thursday evening.
It was believed there were no casualties or injuries. It was uncertain if the ceiling collapse that occurred in the hotel lobby, was due to the ongoing renovation works.
The incident occurred about 5.30pm yesterday and hotel security personnel had cordoned off the area.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Azizman Alias confirmed the incident
