Au'ra April Day 4: Realm (Reborn)

F: "We made it! We finally made it to Eorzea! It looks just like home." Myr: "Told'ja we would! Just a hop skip and a jump across the water" .... I: "A little help please?" B-S: "I gotcha, 'Bey. Seems your cousin's gotten ahead of herself again."

It took five years to reach Eorzea from the remains of Dalmasca. Fy'ra, her cousin Ilbey'rid, Breaker-Surge and Myr'handa had been keeping to the coast and avoiding Garlean patrols to follow the words of the Goddess herself. Finally, their adventure could truly begin.

I hope that one day we get to return to Eorzea's hidden parts, see how things have changed in the locations that have become inaccessible since Bahamut's release. There's still so much, like the beauty that is the Western Shroud and its strangely located steam dome south-west of it.

I keep wondering about it since noticing it. Is there any lore on what is there?

There are also blue leaved trees right in the back of Haukke Manor and Amberscale Rock (best to see around location X9 Y20 Z1)

The latter are probably coloured blue to denote distance, but still thought they looked far too blue for how close they actually look. And that's when I noticed something...

On the other end of Central Shroud, similar blue trees can be found amidst clearly green trees:

Usually the blue is due to a filter or something, but these look deliberately made blue for some effect.

Then around X28 Y14 Z1 looking north-west, you can also see the blue trees, but the image is distorted. That is because this whole front of trees AND the water seems to be a single image and I even think it is the exact same one as the one before, but flipped. When you move, you can see how flat it is. The image has transparent parts however which will show whatever is behind it. So there is a whole image of trees that is dotted around Central Shroud with blue trees included. Kinda cool.

If you follow the border to the west, you again see the same image pasted, but closer, in front of the previous one, to give a layered impression.

I think it works a little better here because the blues are clustered, but the couple of greens in between still break some of the illusion.

🍃 The Beauty of Eorzea: Central Shroud

Back at it again with another post! I was debating whether or not to put the entirety of the Black Shroud in one post, but I feel like that wouldn't let me go in as much depth as I'd like, so I'm separating them into areas you can teleport to with a big Aetheryte!

🌱 Section One: Central Shroud

Here I will cover Central Shroud as a whole and go in depth later on. I have vivid memories of training here as a Sprout even though it's been years.

Central Shroud is located, as it is named, within the center of the Black Shroud. The entirety of the Black Shroud is covered in lush forests, rivers and lakes. Small settlements, camps or enemy bases dot here and there. The area is separated into two distinct zones-- one for beginner adventurers, and one for adventurers who are around lv30 or so. Be wary when trying to take poses if you're a low level in these field areas!

With every area in Eorzea, there are times of day and types of weather present. In the Black Shroud, there is a special weather that can appear.

🌱 Section Two: Tension in the Air

A unique weather that is present in the Black Shroud is the weather named "Tension". Tension is thick and clings to the air like fog... an omen preceding the arrival of a great foe. Will you be triumphant against this foe, or will you get super excited about a unique weather event and take spooky pictures..!?

With all that excitement out of the way, we move onto our final section.

🌱 Section Three: Highlights

There are quite a lot of areas in each zone that are great posing spots, however I will only show 4 of them usually (we'll see how long that lasts...)

Cascading waterfalls, unique flora, and charming structures: Central Shroud has it all for you!

There is also an area only available when you unlock flying (available once you finish A Realm Reborn). It is quite charming and gives a wonderful view of the Gridania citystate, although you can also use it to pose your adorable little self. Take me, for example!

Tour of the Realm Day 9

Today I found myself challenging myself to seek out and take a picture of the most haunted place in all of the Central Shroud, Truly and well a haunted house, as I was there I could hear the creeking of the old manor as well as the shrieks and screams coming from within, Ahriman gather in the yard of Haukke manor giving it an even more eerie vibe.
