Why would you actually write your short story when instead you could just lay in bed and listen to the Spotify playlist you made for it?

Me? Starting my creepy bird Cryptid story over a month since I had the nightmare? It’s more likely than you think
CGBC Part 1
The bedroom was stifling hot. The space heater had been turned on max to combat the freezing winter temperatures outside, and even without the vigorous activity that had taken place there only minutes before Rhys still would feel too warm. And now, dripping with sweat, under a blanket, with another person curled up against his chest wearing his old button up flannel, he might as well be in an oven. Gale shifted in their sleep, reminding him of the knot twisted in his stomach. He shut his eyes, trying to calm his nerves. He was always a little bit uncomfortable about sex, but it had never been this bad. Gale moaned quietly, and he realized that his arms had tensed up, starting to squeeze their hands and tremble slightly. The blanket was caught around his feet in an uncomfortable position, their button up seemingly abrasive on his exposed chest, his sweat was sticking to the sheets and there was all this damned heat! His heart was just about beating out of his chest, and he started sweating again, breath becoming ragged as the room closed in. He had to move. He had to get out. It was too hot. Why was it so god damn hot?
Rhys slowly slid his hands out from being intertwined with his partner. Gently pulling his arm out from under their torso, he began peeling himself away from Gale, trying not to wake them up. It was excruciatingly slow. But eventually he slipped off the mattress, tucking the blanket up against them, before creeping across the old wooden floor, the wood creaks masked by the rattling of the space heater. Rhys flipped the lock on the glass door to balcony, swinging it open just enough to slip through and close behind him. Gasping from the shock of the air, he shut the door behind him, just before realizing that he was just wearing sweat pants. Feet tingling against the cold, he took a few hesitant steps forward onto the dark balcony. A soft crunching and shock of melting snow made him wince. There must have been some snowfall while they were in bed. It was just a light dusting of powder, but it was enough to start making his toes go numb. As his eyes adjusted to the outdoor light, vacant of candles, phone chargers, or even the dim light given off by the space heaters, Rhys saw the steam still wafting off from his body. There was supposed to be heavy cloud cover which explained the lack of moonlight, however he could still make out the white snow banks covering the fields up to the forests edge, a dark void in comparison. Rhys was alone out here. The world asleep and empty for miles. It was just him. Alone.
