Biography:
Born into a life of servitude, Darragh was bred into his life. Considered little more than property, Darragh has no knowledge of his parents and was instead raised to be the perfect servant to any who needed him. For the first sixteen years of his life he was taught everything he might need to know and took to it in a manner he knew made his master proud. In his master’s household, the slaves remained throughout their lives and were treated justly as long as they served well.
That was, until his master was found struck dead– and suddenly everything he had hoped for was torn from his hands. He learned early that life was never fair and to never trust words. Sold off to the highest bidder, his next home was crueler and the beginning of what turned into an endless cycle of Darragh desperately trying to do his best and yet never being enough for any who had him.
As a boy all he had desired was to serve well. It was what he had been trained into believing was all he needed to do in order to please those around him. But not all were so easily pleased and somehow he always seemed to fall short. At best he was ignored, and at worse he was fighting to survive another day. The bright eyed and eager boy slowly disappeared and was replaced with a more withdrawn and weary old man.
It was easier for Darragh to withdraw– to find some sort of semblance of peace within his own mind. As far as he is concerned, his years are numbered and the chances of finding any sort of real peace is impossible. Time with his last owner found him lapsing into bouts of muteness, only serving to further the idea that he might truly be worth little more to anyone else. Instead of selling him directly to another owner, he was instead sold off to Wayward Rose.
As far as Darragh is concerned; Wayward Rose is the end of the road for him and perhaps that was the way he wanted it.
