Chalcophyllite is un uncommon secondary mineral occurring in the oxidised zones of some arsenic-bearing hydrothermal polymetallic deposits. Can be partially dehydrated. Soluble in acids and in ammonia. Water content varies at room temperature based on relative humidity. Alters to Chrysocolla.
Finally, the last four Gems living in the Village on the Mountains, the most brittle and probably the strangest ones!
Descriptions under the cut!
CHALCOPHYLLITE
Pylli may look like a young, fresh gem, but he is pretty old, and one of the helpers to build the village!
Phyl is a plumber, and in water he feels like at home, it might be for his high concentration of water in his composition. If he passes too much time without water around, he might get sick! He needs water as he needs sunlight, and the work to give water to all the village was just perfect for him.
Animal farmers like Voltaite, food farmers like Abelsonite and the ones using water for work like Flint, Mellite and Munakataite can work properly thanks to him! And to his best helper, Bitumen! The two are VERY friends, best friends since Chalcophyllite emerged from a cave near the Village, and the two are almost always together. Phyl seems to undertand him always.
He is seen sometimes as "crazy", because likes to shout and has WAY TOO MUCH ENERGY. He often breaks because he is just TOO energetic.
(As the name says, he is somewhat chemically related to Phosphophyllite, but they don’t know of the existence of each other.)
ORPIMENT
The mysterious, ancient gem with four limbs and a lot of legends around him...
Orpiment is not born as an orpiment. He used to be a realgar, red and bright (and possibly as tall as Yttrite), but millennias broke and ruined his body, and light and temperatures made him a yellow, brittle orpiment. He still has some red parts on his body, and another set of arms.
Nobody knows if he's born with it or he attached it after, and Yttrite, the only one that lived along him on the Island before the other gems arrived from the Original island, says he always had them. But Yttrite is younger than Orpiment, and can't say if he's actually born with four arms.
Orpi used to be a kind of doctor, before Munakataite was born. He never liked that job and was very pleased to leave the young blue gem to do that.
He believes in "gods" just as the Admirabilis around the Mountain Island, and says the ones from the Moon are more gods than "humans". Nobody knows what really a human was, so his words are very mysterious.
He believes there is a God in the seas, listening to them and screaming in winter. Some gems believe him, other think Orpi is just an old idiot.
PUTNISITE
Putnisite is the real explanation to the rebellious gems leaving the Original Island for the new one.
Putni has always been an incredibly clever and curious, and that was an incredible problem for Adamant. Putni quickly realized Sensei was not a gem as them, and that he was hiding secrets.
Those secrets were nothing for Putni, and he quickly deciphered too many things.Putnisite was too smart, and maybe too human. He would have made big troubles for everyone, and maybe he would have been the cause for the moon people to kill off every gem, and Adamant could not let this happen.
Sensei gave him and the other "rebellious", different and "way too human and defective gems books, knowledge and a boat, and led them away. He knew there would have been another land in the ocean.
Putnisite is, since them, the teacher of all the young gems, and the main source of knowledge on the Island. He also teaches the young kings of the various Admirabilis tribes in his big office, but the admirabilis on the island is another story!
Putni is the most fragile and brittle gem of them all. His inclusions are so weak that could barely keep him together, so he can't move out of his office and has to use special chairs and sticks to move (just a little bit). Moissanite helps him, doing the phisical work he can't do, and Jeremejevite, Pezzottaite and Carletonite write books and take him knowledge about the outside world.
He's very respected and loved, and he is always very gentle and smart... even if Putni, just like Adamant, seems to have secrets.
BITUMEN
Bitumen (also called Tar) is the greatest mystery of the Mountain Island.
Nobody knows his age, and he seemed to live inside of the mountains for as long as them existed. He is a somewhat liquid and smelly glue-like thing, with an intelligence comparable to the one of a gem or an Admirabilis, but with no possibility to speak or be as "solid" as them.
He lives in the cavities of the mountain and uses them to move around the Village. It seems that the inside of the Mountains is very hot, and that's why so many gems come out of it; Tar would probably solidify and die if he ever comes out of this holes.
Chalchophyllite, his best friend, wanted to not only make holes in the mountains to take water everywhere in the Village, but made holes for Tar too to move around and always have him by his side!
Tar helps Phyl A LOT because he's waterproof and has the better knowledge of everyone else of the mountains. He drew himself the first sketches of the map of the island and was of great importance for Kupferblau for his later maps!
(even if he left the maps a bit sticky, he's still a good boy.)
I’ve updated Chalcohphyllite! And her new look comes with her components!
Brazz, a peridot with a copper impurity that grants her minor electrical resistance.
And Marin, an aquamarine who is shallow cut which makes her stronger than normal
Also: @gemsonaresources the second image is a PNG file( or should be, message me if it isn’t, I will submit the file to you.) for your gemsonaversary collab. Turns out I didn’t need the extra time after all.
Edit because I was a dingus who forgot Chal’s jacket/apron.
