It's come a long way since they first 'met'?? He used to be pretty wary of tricksters at first, Dea included, than that turned into this immense curiosity that he had no way to sate, because he didn't know how to go around talking to him.
Now he's just really glad that Dea took the first steps, and even if he does understand that there's a reason to be on your toes here, he doesn't let that affect him a lot. Dea is a friend like any other - even if John is prone to pampering him more than normal because he IS royalty and he gets that Dea enjoys that sort of attention.
Plus they get to talk about all these things John is super passionate about - and Dea shows genuine interest - so John feels really happy about that part of their relationship too.

How do you manage to have so many quality and well developed muses, I will never know BUT Dea is no different, and I really love how you constructed him??
Cannibalism and gore are two big no-nos to me in general, but I do love how you inserted him in this environment where what's considered morally correct or not is completely different from our reality, and it's really interesting to put those differences into perspective and comparing how both kinds behave??
While creating non-human characters, a lot of people don't push the envelope enough, and I think you did that right, and he's still extremely relatable at the end of the day.
