changbin's tarot reading from "WELCOME TO SKZ DEL LUNA" x for @applejongho
[12:35am] it feels like a movie moment, the way the rain starts just as changbin leaves. the storm had been brewing all day; dark clouds looming ominously on the horizon, and you dreaded their steady approach as much as you dreaded watching changbin go. you feel like you should be more used to it by now; the constant schedules and tours, tearing changbin away from you for weeks at a time, but it seems to hurt even more each time he leaves.
you never quite understood why rain had to be associated with so many sad things, when you’ve had so many happy moments in the rain. there was the time last summer when you’d been out for a hike and it had started pouring out of nowhere—you swear the forecast called for clear skies—and the two of you ran laughing hand in hand down the trail back to the safety of your car, dripping wet but full of breathless giggles nonetheless. or the time you were about to head home just as it had started raining, and you made it maybe two feet from changbin’s door before he pulled you back towards him to give you an umbrella and a long, sweet kiss that tasted of raindrops.
changbin always loved the rain; every time he caught sight of dark splotches beginning to speckle the pavement on sidewalks or heard the gentle drumming of raindrops on the roof he’d grab your hand and pull you to a window or even the front stairs, despite your whining and complaints, so you could sit there and watch the torrents of water come rushing down. there’d be no talking, just listening to the sounds and watching the cars go by and enjoying each other’s warm touch in the cool air.
now, however, you’re beginning to loathe the rain. you felt the first droplets earlier when you and changbin were fighting; you know it’s not fair of you to be mad at him for leaving all the time, and you want him to pursue his dreams, but you feel empty every time he goes. the fight didn’t last long—it was hardly even a fight to begin with, you ended up bursting into tears and crying as changbin pulled you into him. you spent the last couple hours before he had to leave just lying together, pressed impossibly close to each other, changbin slowly stroking your hair to soothe you.
the downpours really started when he left with the rest of the boys; you shared one last kiss in the rain before you watched them drive away, giving a small wave goodbye as the car left. the back lights reflected off of the wet road, bright red angrily glaring at you. you listened to the quiet shhhh of the car grow fainter as it left, and soon enough, it was gone from sight.
and now you’re sitting here, hugging your knees tight to your chest and leaning against the cool glass of the front window. you blink a couple times, not bothering to wipe away the tears, and you close your eyes to inhale the cologne lingering on changbin’s sweater you’re wearing. it’s only a couple weeks, you tell yourself, but you can’t help but wonder how many more times you’ll have to go through weeks like this.
[22:47] Imagine studying with Changbin. The words in your textbook are so tiny! He sees your struggle, so he suggests you purchase a pair of glasses. You claim you would look ugly with them, but he is not buying it. During the long and tense debate, Changbin places his glasses on the bridge of your nose, ending the conversation instantly. He is right: you could definitely see better!
changbin pls let me clench my hand against your throat
CHANGBIN: Okay, just don’t kill me.

[07:33] Changbin was a cuddly guy when he's sleepy. Some days you took advantage of that and slipped next to him in bed whenever you came to visit him really early and he was still sound asleep. He's used to it by now – how you'd cuddle closer to his chest when he'd unconsciously drape his arm around your waist to pull you closer.
It's always a pleasant surprise to wake up to you all bundled up under his blankets and arms, breathing steadily as you slept. (You once told him you only end up sleeping because he was just so comfy that you couldn't bring yourself to take that from him. Changbin gloats about this all the time when you're cuddling.)
Those mornings he'd nudge you awake by burying his nose into your neck or pepper small kisses all over your face. And he'd always find the room considerably brighter after you'd hesitantly open your eyes to look up at him.
The morning you slipped your arms around Changbin's waist and pressed your cheek in between his shoulder blades, he stirs awake feeling awfully confused. He simply isn't used to you being the big spoon as he was much too accustomed to feeling your figure in his embrace rather than you embracing him.
But he laid there anyway, enjoying how your fingers brushed against the exposed skin of his stomach and taking comfort in the rise and fall of your chest against his back. At some point he found himself slipping lower and lower so he could turn to bury his face into your neck. He likes it there, he decided.
Big spoon or not, sleepy Changbin welcomed any and all forms of your cuddling in those fuzzy morning memories. Where he loses himself to your natural scent and indulges in your soft touches, he recharges blissfully.
The groggy "good morning" you say after kissing his forehead completes it for him, urging him to beam at your gesture.
Ah, this must be what falling in love feels like.
