Charmander and Charmander and Charmander
This came to me in a dream, that there's this weird ass belief from monsters that humans for some reason are kinda like eevees from Pokémon, like- that they need certain elements from their environment to manifest a color in their soul, and the idea of Toriel doing her best to try and make Kris manifest a green (kindness) soul or just any color really (preferably green though) but they still manifested a red soul and she didn't know what the fuck to do anymore cause red souls are so stupidly rare in normal human circumstances that there's barely any information about them in every book about humans in hometown
Point is, Kris resenting the other humans for being "normal" and presenting normal human soul traits and colors is very much a delicious meal to me, will probably do a doodle later or maybe not, let's see what comes this.

Tbh I was only a big fan of Pokemon when I was a kid and had a DVD of the first seasons of the anime I couldn't watch other seasons or play Pokemon games because we didn't have good internet, and I was more into PvZ and Bakugan (and also a bit of Sonic) at the time I only remember Pokemon from the older seasons, so I guess Charmander would be a good match for Clover idk lol

Just a little comic I made from the rain today! There was a LOT in my area, which isn’t bad itself… but the severe storms that came with it were 😬

The Human Hunter
This story is a work of fiction. I don't condone my characters actions in real life. While this character was mad to explore the darker sides of morality and humanity it's relatively sfw.

I have an idea for a morally grey area villain pokemon character. He was raised by a small village who feared pokemon because they believed they were savage beasts.
My OC is named Arlo. As a boy discovered a young wild Charmander and befriends him. The two of them grow closer over the years keeping their friendship a secret from the village afraid of what they might do if they find Spitfire (what the boy named his Charmander companion)
Years go by as the boy becomes a young man, and Spitfire becomes a Chameleon. They get discovered which leads to a huge fight and falling out between his family and the rest of the village. They think he's weak and worthless for siding with those "monsters"
He and Spitfire leave the village far behind him. He and Spitfire begin training for their upcoming plan. Making a sanctuary for all the pokemon they rescued from trappers, and other's who wish to cause pokemon harm. People who have abandoned their pokemon. Sold and used, chained down and abused them. Caused them nothing but endless torment and suffering.
Now a grown man and Charizard, He and Spitfire are going to make them feel what the pokemon felt. Taking on the allies name "The human hunter" these two plan to ride the world of their disease. They'll show no mercy on anyone even if they beg for their lives.
"Everything I was ever taught was a lie. This wasn't some savage beast. But a beautiful, intelligent creature whose soul mirrored my own. I looked at her and it was like looking at myself." -Arlo after he came to the realization that Pokemon aren't evil like he was taught to believe.
Pokedoodles are back! I decided to try out a different style for this one <3 he’s a lil guy.
It's pretty amazing the pokemon anime chose to make their their twelfth or thirteenth episode all about animal abuse. The story of Charmander is basically a story of real world animal abuse, albeit one reenacted with fantasy animals like a baby fire breathing dragon. Charmander was abandoned for being "weak," something I'm sadly aware happens to all too many animals. Any animal that can be domesticated can be abandoned. So I imagine dogs and cats get the worst of it, but who knows? Maybe there are abandoned exotic pets too. Either way, the show choosing to actually go all in on the abused animal angle is gutsy.
I mean...there are probably braver things. But the anime could've just been all light and silly. They didn't need to oscillate in tone between extreme comedy and then deathly serious story of a dying animal. But they did it, and I've gotta admit...it works. It just works really well.
Charmander is probably my favourite of the kanto starters. Part of it might be this shows influence, because Charmander has the story I find most interesting. Also, I just kind of like his design more than the others. Not usually a fire type fan, but I think the first two generations really had fire type starters who steal the spotlight. Cyndaquil and Charmander are delightful.
The only thing I remember about bulbasaur is the way the dub voice actor said the name whenever they had to make the pokemon talk. I still find it so whimsical and cute to hear these pokemon speaking solely in their names. It's like a precursor to what marvel did with groot, I guess. And it's clear now that pokemon and aliens and creatures who can only say one word in different ways can be incredibly whimsical.
