I know it's common in fics for Elphaba to be good at cooking, but what if Boq was the only one in the charmed circle who could kind of cook? I've had this comic idea stuck in my head for a while :3

I think there's another, smaller tragedy etched into No One Mourns The Wicked, which is that it's... only about Elphaba. Don't get me wrong. THIS IS GOOD. It sets up the main relationship and plot and adds intrigue etc I would NOT change this.

But... if you just watched NOMTW, you wouldn't KNOW about Fiyero, or Boq, or even Nessa. For all intents and purposes, they're invisible to the post-melting narrative. Nobody will ever know Elphaba's goodness, yes, but equally they will not know how Fiyero sacrificed himself for her; how Nessa laughed and danced; how Boq worked hard to distinguish himself and died as a glorified indentured servant in his hometown. They're gone now.
