Throughout its production, Chasing Valentine's Director Navin Ramaswaran and crew are producing video diaries to share their experience with fellow filmmakers. Ahead of its crowdfunding campaign launching on Indiegogo July 14, we think it's a smart way to both promote the project, and share valuable tips with indie filmmakers on the fly.Â

Making my first feature film (Nara) was the best learning experience of my career. It was truly my film school. Although I had made shorts and had worked on movie sets and shadowed other directors, there is nothing like getting your hands dirty and actually making your first film. So my idea for releasing these Video Diaries is to give aspiring filmmakers and filmmakers who are about to venture into their feature film debut a chance to watch us make my next feature - every step of the way. It’s a film school of sorts. And I intend to be completely transparent throughout the process - you’ll get to see our development process, casting, funding, production, marketing, all the gear we use, issues/setbacks that arise, tips & tricks, etc. You don’t really learn anything from fluffy, everyone patting each other’s backs Hollywood EPK’s or “making-of’s” - but thisis the real deal. This is us getting down and dirty as we make this micro-budget, independent drama. We’re Chasing Valentine - come along for the ride!
