honestly? eartha kitt or katharine hepburn, but when they were older.

14. Can they cook? Can they bake?

yes and yes, but in a utilitarian kind of way. no fancy flourishes, no fancy ingredients. chassit cooks/bakes to fuel its body and nothing more. it does appreciate fancy food, but it would rather someone else make it.

31. What’s their current main conflict?

depends on where you’re at in its timeline. in general, though, i’d say an existential struggle between wanting to be a freedom fighter and wanting to watch the world burn. its worldview waffles between existentialism and nihilism, which can be quite dangerous, given its skillset.

43. What pokemon would your character be (if they’re already a pokemon/gijinka tell us what they are, and how that’s affected them)?

probably mawile or sableye. something small, deceptively cute, and vicious. 

50. What are some motifs associated with your character?

neon green text on a black computer screen, ice, antiseptic, cold white hospital hallways. generally a sense of cold sterility and machinery.

Grand rehoming

When we had Roland, the cats were not pleased. They clearly viewed their status as demoted. Behavior problems existed for a solid month or two before the cats settled into "that thing" being in the house and deigned to be in the same room. When we had the twins I expected a similar fall out and reordering period. I mean, I started out pre-vet. I've trained wolverines and raccoons. What could a pair of recalcitrant cats do? Then the babies were born, our upstairs neighbors went batshit, my parents fostered the cats to keep them from being poisoned, we moved across town, and suddenly we had Behavior Problems. I mean, I get it. We had a rough summer too! I know two babies and a month of fostering and a move is a lot to ask of established, adult cats. So when small neurotic cat began sideswiping me and ignoring boundaries of where he was allowed to be, I ignored the bad behavior and started trying to reward good behavior. And then he started peeing on the stairs- despite that for 6 (or 7? ) years, that cat has been housebroken. Then he started attacking our good cat, then attacking me, and then one day he jumped in the crib on top of Inara and I lost it. I threw him across the room away from her, he fell down two steps of the staircase, and when I got her back to sleep and went to find him, he had shit on the stairs and had his ears flat, glaring at me. So I put him outside, right before the coldest week of the whole year. And I've felt guilty about it. We rescued small neurotic cat from a pet shelter the first winter of married life. He's lived in 5 homes with us. He has always been neurotic, but he used to be such a sweetheart too. When we rescued him, I made a promise to take care of him for his whole life. And we won't be. He's inside tonight, in a crate, in my house for the very last time. Tomorrow he goes to a home with two grown ups and no babies. No other cats, no other dogs. His neurotic little self can establish a new life with a new social order where someone has time to take better care of him and solve the behavioral problems that he's developed. And, most importantly, no babies will be hurt while he starts over. I'm so glad we found him a place to be that isn't the below freezing outdoors or a kill shelter, and I wish things had gone differently. Here's hoping for a great fresh start for small cat.

what do you mean the story was the 19th time? sorry, i love the dark tower but could not understand what you mean.

I always try to be a bit vague when talking about TDT because I know like 99% if not all of my followers haven’t read it and I’d hate to be the one to spoil it for them so MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. Like the BIGGEST TWIST, the VERY VERY ENDING don’t ruin it for yourself!

Yanno the post-ending epilogue? It reveals that Roland has been repeating this story, but with slight differences (the Horn of Eld appears on his belt, for example). He steps through the door at the top of the Tower and comes back out on the desert the story started in.

The repeated use of “19” could mean what you just read was the nineteenth time he did this. So in the “Horn of Eld Cycle”, it could be “20” that haunts his ka-tet.

I had actually figured he’d done it hundreds, if not thousands of times, but for some reason nineteen times just felt worse to me? I don’t even know why, haha.
