Heya- this was a fun read! thanks for sharing. I’m wondering about Discord and how it’s used for fannish spaces? I finally got a computer new enough to run the discord app- but I don’t know where to start!

The assumption that I am anything but an old grumpy grognard on Discord is very sweet, but... yeah no idea. I’m not in the Inception one with the children and antis, and I lurk in 100% of my other ones. I don’t even talk in my own except for watch parties.

Anyone got some Discord advice for this poor soul?

How did you two meet?

Ross: ah well, as embarrassing as it is, I have been a fan of Danny for a while. I tried reaching out a few times, but that didn’t really pan out. We ran into each other once in a while at cons but he seemed preoccupied. But we really sort of met met when Arin had a little like party I guess.

Dan: yeah and Ross was awkward as fuck. He made the lamest jokes and even tried a terrible pick up line on me!

Ross: hey! I thought of all the people you would appreciate it most! And maybe I was totally not sure how to approach you..

Dan: well after that we kind of just started hanging out a lot. And eventually dating.

Ross: yeah turns out Danny is truly the awkward piece of poop!

Thank you! I am getting a B.A. in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Community Mental Health and a minor in Counseling. I am currently planning to apply to my school’s dual degree program that would earn me a masters in Public Health and a masters in Social Work (MPH/MSW) in three years!
