Frank Zappa & The Mothers - Cheepnis
With this crazy self-quarantine, my younger son Dylan has not been home for a couple of weeks. He decided to come home for 24 hours and as I was finishing up my work day in my home office, I heard some wonderful sounds emanating from his computer. They were the sounds of Frank Zappa and The Mothers from their album Roxy & Elsewhere. When Dylan and his brother David were young, they loved the song Cheepnis and would frequently request it when we were driving somewhere in the car. So for Dylan and David and the late, great Frank Zappa, I am kicking off the weekend with Cheepnis.
Note: If you want to skip ahead, the song actually starts at 2:08. However, the first two minutes of the video is the “preamble,” as Frank called it. It is a humorous description of what the song is about; that being low budget monster movies.
Cheepnis,’ (Live At The Roxy, Hollywood/1973) Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa (feat. The Mothers): Cheepnis
Haven't talked about Zappa for a while so I'm gonna fix that. Here's a fun tribute to the b-movies of yesteryear where you go into the movies fully expecting to see zippers, wires and bad effects if you were looking for a good time. Something tells me the writers of MST3K like this song. I could be wrong.
Song Score: 1950/10

Do yourself a favour today, and bask in the beautiful cheepnis that is the official music video for It’s Nasty by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, circa 1981.
