It has been a good year, honestly. Graduating high school, driving, entering college, discovering myself more... I’ve learned a lot of things that I will be taking with me into 2018 and years beyond. One thing for sure is that 2017 confirmed my love for food, cooking, and baking. A couple days ago my mom and I tried the new pizza place in Mosaic, Oath Pizza, and I believe that I can hands down say it is the best pizza I have ever had. The thin crust is just what I need to not upset my stomach and the variety of options they offer is a lot of fun. Can’t wait to go back and try the create-my-own. Afterwards, we went to Ted’s Bulletin to try their “adult milkshakes”, and well... it sucked. Not to sound bougie, but the alcohol content was close to nothing and the presentation of the milkshake was ugly... not even picture worthy. Not to mention the total ended up being around $14... for a vanilla milkshake... that hurt our stomachs afterwards... but it was funny sneaking sips of it when the waiters weren’t around.
On a better note, I made a beautiful chocolate banana bread/cake derived from thedishonhealthy with minor adjustments to the sugar amount because of my very ripe bananas. The end result was a moist, slightly bitter dark chocolate banana cake that is the perfect guilt-free treat.
Lately I have been unhappy about the fact that I did not reach all the goals I had set to accomplish before 2018. It makes me worry about the resolutions I plan to complete in the upcoming year, but at the same time it has made me realize that not everything I plan will go as planned. Especially when I set such perfect-movie-moment goals that I should be more reasonable about. Major goal for 2018: stop expecting so much and appreciate what is already present.
