In general I love thinking about what bits of Gender we do get in regards to Len'ens. While they have no canonical genders, they have various speech styles that do have gendered associations irl, and they have clothes with gendered associations irl. I feel like the fact you can interpret these characters freely opens these interpretations up more even. Like, Tsubakura is speaking in a way that's considered masculine and dressing in a way that's considered somewhat feminine. It's beautiful.

And the historical references can add to this depth too depending on how deeply you wanna read into it. I've already made so many Fumikado gender posts based on their goal of becoming Masakado for a reason. And part of my transfemme headcanon for Chouki comes from Chouki's design emulating Takiyashahime, but that emulation doesn't negate a masculine reading of their gender. If anything I imagine Chouki will have a more individualized design once they separate from the idea of one-upping Fumikado.
