I remember the actor Chris Messina. I auditioned for a play in a teeny little theater in New York. And you know, I didn't have a cell phone. I didn't have a pager, but I got a message from him. My mom called me and said that there was a message on her home phone from Chris Messina and he said, "You know, John, you know, I'm not going to give you this part because I we wrote it for my best friend and he's going to play it, but man, what you did, you came in here, you came in here and you blew us all away and you are going to be fine. And just the humanity, the beauty of of him making that phone call. He has no idea that carried me for months of rejection.
