have you ever thought about how the vongola kids weren't originally family or even close friends - iemitsu had to pick his son's team of guardians quickly and with the most important point in mind - they had to have flames, so technically he just picked kids off the street hoping they could survive a fight with professional killers

like just look at the moment when tsuna found out who is gonna be his sun guardian - he is shocked, he panicked - he didn't expect that mafia will choose ryohei

tsuna didn’t know who is gonna be his mist guardian, he was also shocked and kinda terrified??? this guy tried to kill him so tsuna thought THAT IT WAS A STRANGE CHOICE

i guess iemitsu chose mukuro because he is really strong and they can use him for their goals, he just promised like yeah we are totally gonna help you with that prison problem don’t worry just help us with this shit, for now we can use this girl’s body and after the fight we’ll try to find the solution

actually reborn looked skeptical about the choice. judging by reborn's reaction to chrome’s appearance (and after the explanation of if mukuro is a guardian, then why some girl appeared instead of him) which was a phrase, if it is translated correctly, “for now this is the only thing we can do" he also did not really believe in chrome, most likely the vongola had already started thinking about how to get mukuro out, and other people's bodies are a temporary solution, they did not expect this measure to be permanent (and that’s why formally chrome is the only one who achieved her place solely through perseverance, work and her own efforts and was not chosen by iemitsu in a desperate attempt to assemble a team of flame owners as soon as possible - she not only survived despite everyone’s expectations but also became a powerful illusionist)

lambo is the strangest choice and we actually never heard the answer WHY did iemitsu chose him - we just see that yeah in the future he is gonna be really powerful but still in my opinion it is not the best way to find a guardian but eeeh maybe iemitsu knows best

so yeah

they became a family over time and i think that's a really good choice for the story

Ok, so this way-too-old ask is related to this post specifically. And I'm sorry for having taken so long, but as the saying goes, it is what it is.

Anyway

The very bad thing I believe about Gokudera is that he actually doesn't teach anyone anything. My view may be skewed cause I have no memory of him in the last two arcs of the manga but I fully believe that the only person he's willing to teach to is Tsuna.

But Tsuna doesn't really ask him any of that.

And about Chrome (same disclaimers apply)... Does she really spend time with the family? The girls of course, but as for the other guardians, I'm not so sure.

The other way round would actually be more plausible to me.

Chrome spends the majority of her time with the gang, and Mukuro is a constant in her head. It would be pretty clear that it is him teaching her Italian. And it would also make sense that the other guardians maybe don't even know she knows how to speak it.

So what I envision is something like:

Kyoko and Haru brought/made croissants and invited Chrome, Tsuna (who is of course followed by Yamamoto and Gokudera) and the kids.

And when the freshly baked croissants arrive on the table Chrome exclaims, in the heaviest Milanese accent possible "Oh, these brioches are so good!"

Gokudera feels like he's having a stroke.
