Travis looks up to see that Bruce is hunched forward and that Laura has gotten a good handful of the back of his shirt, hauling it up over his head. It’s just enough to cover his face and keep his arms trapped and she twists until she's in a decent enough position that he can’t reach her.

“Hey!” Bruce cries loudly even as she tightens her grip, snarling, “I don’t like bullies. You touch Travis or anyone else again without permission and you’ll get more of the same, got it?”

…touch…Travis?

…but…I’m Travis.

I’M Travis, Travis thinks, bowled over by this realization that she mentioned him. Laura mentioned him! Laura talked about him! Laura’s defending-! And Travis feels a distinctive thump of his heart, even as Bruce lets out a bunch of aborted curses and throws some pretty heavy wriggles to get out from under her trap.
