hey, i'm a nonbinary trans person with lots of dysphoria and i just wanted to give you another reason y'all are valid as heck (not that you need it) for a good 2 years or so, i identified as a cis woman with top dysphoria. and when i did that, i met a bunch of cis woman who also had top dysphoria, and a lot of them still id as women. so being dysphoric doesn't make you trans.
Hell yeah nonbinary trans people! also YEAH that’s something that isn’t talked about a lot - cis people w dysphoria. It’s super valid and thank you for sharing yr experience !!

so liek. since trans people don’t have to experience dysphoria to be trans that means cis people can be dysphoric too. because dysphoria is a mental illness.
I say I have body dysphoria as a cis person.
Someone tells me cis people shouldn't use the term because it's used mostly by trans/nb people.
I say that dysphoria is a general term and there are lots of different types of dysphoria so using the term isn't co-opting trans/nb-specific language.
ANOTHER person tells me that actually, what I call body dysphoria is actually gender dysphoria, BUT because I'm cis I shouldn't use the term gender dysphoria either.
What am I supposed to do?
Every time I wanna make a post about my feelings and experiences regarding my chest do I have to describe and tag it as "i hate my breasts so much that i want to cut them off?"??
this may be a weird-ish take but jsyk cis people have dysphoria too. and no i don't mean dysmorhpia, i genuinely mean gender dysphoria. like that story of amanda bynes on the set of she's the man.
and i don't think it necessarily means you're not secure in your gender identity? like idk i feel very secure that i am a woman, but there are days when i feel like people don't see me as one and i get really anxious and depressed about that.
and i know it's not for me and i feel a little bad about it but looking at transfem positivity posts (like the stuff i've been reblogging) makes me feel less dysphoric too! it's reassuring to know there are so many ways to be a woman (and for me specifically, a feminine woman) and they are all okay!
i also think part of this has to do with my intersection of fat and lesbian because both of those identities make me feel like i have less of a right to be a woman or be feminine. like when i first came out i started wearing really butch clothes (for me, which still wasn't very butch) bc i didn't really feel like i had a claim to femininity anymore.
this post has derailed some but it's fine it's just for me
