cloistered scholar of her immaculate confection, citrina rocks, being an absolute jesus freak against her families wishes
👑 kofi link in bio if you’re feeling generous 👑
[id: a digital drawing of a young citrina rocks from a crown of candy, in a palette of mainly primary colors. she's drawn from the waist up, with her right side partially obscured, in a bright blue gown and white tunic. her jewelry and embroidery all relate to lemons or the bulb. her left hand frames her one open eye, where a burst of light is overlaid. text along the background reads: "saint citrina of house rocks". /end id]
candy couture drawing of this year 4 the @d20zinejam ! the entries r GORGEOUS im so excited 4 when it drops + check out the bundle in support of the occupied palestinian territory humanitarian fund
i wonder how citrina felt when she died and ended up in the sugarplum fairy's realm only to see the bulb for what it really is.
imagine being so gifted at drawing power from a godly source that they deem you a saint posthumously, but that saint herself gets martyred and instead of being sent to any sort of afterlife, she's presented with the undeniable truth that the god isn't any sort of benevolent god worthy of admiration and respect and prayer, it's just a ball of energy. like. what do you do with that.
you're dead and the religion that venerated you--still venerates you, as you can see in the glimpses you get of the living world outside the mist--is based on a lie. you're not blind to the way the church as an institution bends the interpretation of the bulb to gain and keep power, but surely you thought that the bulb itself was beyond that, was kind, cared... she even says in amethar's flashback that the bulb's light "shines most brightly on those who act and speak in the name of love."
but it actually doesn't.
'cuz it's just a ball.
i would love to know what saint citrina thought of that. i would love to.
this is how citrinabeth meet. to me
her forgiveness is as sweet and inevitable as her blood
