so in after school special, the  flashbacks are meant to be ~fall 1997? so dean would have been already 18 at this point, and actually should have graduated h.s. the previous spring had he started kindergarten at 5 and not been held back.

i’m not sure if i have a point other than: 

1) dean didn’t graduate so this was probably the last school he went to and he decided to drop out after the incident at truman. like he left on a low note and his pride was hurt so he just put on all the false bravado and was like school is for chumps and nerds anyway, i don’t need that, i’m done. psh. she feels sorry for me? whatever. 

2) dean failing a grade because he missed so much school due to injury or moving around too much (because even though i’m sure he didn’t give a shit about grades i think he’s the type to skirt by with a C- without even trying). like, what happened? and did sam miss a year too? or two? because he was 22 when he took the lsat and applied to law school so 23 by graduation from undergrad.

is this ever explained? or is there 50k of meta on this somewhere? someone direct me?
