"Cloud Party" by MUTO https://ift.tt/2KMNBPm
We can’t get enough of MUTO’s Tessellating, featuring Oliver Dibley, and we’re not alone in these sentiments, either. The exquisite electronic track hit number one on Hype Machine not long after we featured it a month ago, and it’s been drumming up endless praise and adulation since. You can revisit our song feature, here. In the meantime, the Sydney producer has released his Arcane EP. Its six tracks include Tessellating as well as other previously featued gems like Say Nothing and Wildfire. It also features this gorgeous track, Cloud Party, a synth roiling, sleek warbling electronic meditation with lissome vocals and cinematic future bass production. MUTO’s Arcane EP is but more proof that he’s one of the most exciting rising producers out of Australia right now. Arcane can be streamed in full on Soundcloud, here.
Yahoo & Cloud Party
Recently Yahoo acquired Cloud Party which is a virtual world gaming startup. Cloud party operated for two years as a "browser based game creation engine" before being acquired by Yahoo. Shortly after Cloud Party was acquired by Yahoo it was shut down. What cloud party will be working on under yahoo is still unknown, however it is speculated that this purchase by Yahoo could be an engineering talent grab to bring Cloud Party's key employees on to work on Yahoo's own games portal, a patent grab for Cloud Party's intellectual property, or perhaps part of a greater plan for Yahoo to launch new products.
The farewell note on Cloud Party's former home page hints that the Cloud Party Team has something exciting coming around next that it urges its committed users to stick around for. Therefore this farewell gives virtual reality gamers and engineers some hope that under Yahoo these talented engineers will further improve their browser based game creation virtual reality engine under yahoo and this will not be the last we see of Cloud Party.
Hopefully this acquisition is a signal that Yahoo will be launching their own Virtual World product that utilizes the impressive technology of Cloud Party, but for now time will only tell
