Definitely! I’m about halfway through and the stories definitely lean cozy/slice-of-life/fairytale-y overall, which is unsurprising in an indie queer anthology but it’s so far light in the kinds of stories I’m really into :’) I do think the overall quality is higher than the first anthology though! The merits of not having to accept Literally Every submission you get

for the ask game, what is a detail in leaves too high to touch that you're really proud of?

Ooh...that's a tough one! I think it's the way Tim just...quietly is a good guy in the background without making it obvious. There are the big things he does because he's trying to make up for Tim Prime (in a way), but there are also the little things that he never calls attention to and people maybe don't notice - like that he always announces when he's entering or leaving a room so Martin Prime knows he's there, or like that he always calls Charlie "buddy" or something like that to subtly affirm his gender. It was just a lot of fun to weave in and see how many people picked up on it.

4. a character moment i rlly enjoyed... hrm... perhaps when my cat knocked over my lego flowers, showing her evil nature underneath the facade.

okay my actual answer is that time in ntt when joey and raven met up and she was like oh shit i gotta go and disappeared but left some books behind, and when joey checked he saw they were on learning ASL. i think it just rlly exemplifies who raven is and how deeply she cares for the people around her even though she doesn't necessarily show it outwardly. also i just want joey and raven to kiss

7. funny line: "age means nothing to trigon." we should cancel him for this methinks. i could excuse everything else but that's just too far

also some guy in ntt calls kory a fine looking momma and she says he is a fine looking mother himself. i love her dearly. the guy is also wearing tara's tt03 logo?

4. Tell me about a character moment you really enjoyed.

This moment from Batman (1940) #471:

I really like more sympathetic portrayals of Croc and I think this is the first comic that shows him in that kind of light. He had a home and a found family and didn't hesitate for a moment to sacrifice himself to save them, and I really wish this bit ever came up again in the comics but as far as I'm aware it's never mentioned again.

8. What is a ridiculous moment you get a kick out of?

Jean-Paul Valley getting hooked on pulp mystery novels and narrating his life with the cheesiest most terrible attempt at hard boiled detective narration ever in Azrael Annual #3.

I love all of the pulp hero annuals but this one in particular is just the perfect storm of "making fun of a genre I love + a character I love being a huge dork" and it's just utterly ridiculous and hilarious.

Have you read Unspeakable: A Queer Gothic Anthology? It seems up your alley and I recall really enjoying it when I read it.

I have not! I'm not sure I'd buy the whole thing- obviously I do read stories that aren't about sapphic main characters, but that's what I'd mostly be there for, so I don't know if that's worth purchasing the entire book for when I suspect it's just one or maybe two sapphic stories. But it does look worth a read if I ever get a chance.
