ok but hootowls can i have help pls
what is happening in owl city field notes.. like i get the general gist but im still so confused
so, he's heading home from working the fields. which fields??? his fields?? or does he work on someone elses farm for money?
and then he chases his dog off through a different field? or is it the same one he was working in??
and he finds a trunk of gold which was not on his property.. so he essentially steals it. "there wasn't a map or a note or a key, it was clearly forgotten just waiting for me." but how would you know if there was a map or a note or a key?? just because you happened to come across it without those things doesnt mean that there wasnt a map given to someone else so they could find it eventually..
and then he "buys that field." WHICH FIELD. like the one he found the chest in?? or the one he was working in?????
and then later the line "betting the farm is well worth the risk" what???? at what point in this story were we betting a farm??? i'm so confused. this is probably a stretch but like was he betting ON the farm as in bidding?? was be buying a farm with the gold?? literally what does that mean
and then the moral is explained--that you should put your treasures in heaven and not under the ground. but. didn't the main character literally JUST find his treasures under the ground and the whole song was about the things he had ON EARTH..... like what
and then at the end "it's a fable you see, and the moral is this: your heart's with your treasure wherever it is" YOU JUST SAID IT NEEDED TO BE IN HEAVEN???? what is the moral of this song help me
maybe my comprehension skills are just morbidly low but i really can't understand this song
i still love it though but it just confuses me
