I have this tiny little sketchbook lying around. It has 11 pages, you used to get it when you stayed at a certain hotel. I was reminded of it because I recently saw Avatar: Fire and Ash, and I remembered it contained a drawing of an Ikran which I still like. But honestly I love all of these. Especially the psychedelic killer whale, the common dolphin meeting a fin whale and the humpback staring into your soul.
I filled this booklet years ago and I miss having the energy and inspiration and time to sketch like this.

A common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) in Baja, Mexico
by Tim Melling
Common Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) playing near the boat. Family Delphinidae, order Artiodactyla.
Clearwater, Florida, USA. May 2017.
Daily whale doodle (Day 43): Common Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) A dolphin species that inhabits temperate and tropical waters worldwide, and is commonly kept in aquariums and marine parks (and a species that I got to see myself when I visited the Brookfield Zoo back in March). The internet could never convince me that these guys are truly evil.
Here it is, the animal that many people think of when they hear the word "dolphin", the Floridian bottlenose dolphin. On the surface they may not seem much different than the Puerto Rican bottlenose I illustrated a while ago, but if you were to put the two side by side and look closely, there's a whole world of differences. While both are relatively slim with a lighter grey coloration, Floridian bottlenoses have rounder looking faces and their markings are more well defined. They also seem a bit bulkier, though some individuals can be pretty skinny.
Can I have a moodboard for Common Bottlenose Dolphin from Kemono Friends?
