how long have they been out at sea? the days blur, and even the captain can no longer remember. the men are tired, and only their devotion and loyalty keep them from revolting, but even that must give out to the fear and anarchy lurking within human nature. they must find land soon, lest he be facing mutiny.
thus, it comes as greatest relief when rat calls down from watchpost, voice imbued with far more energy than he's heard in many days now.

he does not hesitate to dock them, and watches as his men fall to their knees and praise having solid earth beneath their feet once more. he would join them, but he cannot. he is the captain, and must never show such weakness. he may trust his men with his life, but he cannot trust them with his faults. there is a distinct difference unknown to any but those in position of power.
