(Never heard of the contaminated prince series) Did you write the contaminated prince series? Because your oc sounds sick. And if they’re fr the main character I kinda really want to read it
So, yes! The original version of the first five chapters are up, but I stopped because I started running into issues I really didn't like. Originally he didn't really have anything that would give him issues from his past as a human, certain logistics of the world didn't make sense, the naming conventions were too convoluted, the religions and gods weren't well thought-out, the magic system made demons (what he's becoming) way too OP in a way that negated the need for certain past events to happen, and so on and so forth.
Really, the initial world building I did was super rushed, because I had an idea and I wanted to write it as soon as possible. But the issues I was running into, along with the basic need for "what is the main plot here? how do we proceed?", really ended up bringing me to a complete standstill.
Also I burned myself out writing 8k chapters to release every single week.
So it's being rewritten!
The plot points have changed, the world makes more sense, and it's slow going because I don't want to post anything until I have a backlog. I don't want to suffer burnout like that again, where like almost two years later I'm still recovering, so I want there to be chapters already written and ready to go to fall back on when I need a small break. Where I post mostly about it is on my other blog, Cogmourne!
This is also a link just in case tumblr messes up the link below, and if it messes them both up, just look up tumblr user Cogmourne!
Tumblr is a place to express yourself, discover yourself, and bond over the stuff you love. It's where your interests connect you with your
Here's the updated summary! (still a work in progress and might be changed)
Once upon a time, Miach, before he was Miach, read a book. That book was utter and absolute garbage; the heroes were villainous, the villains were somehow even worse just for the sake of gore, and there was no reasoning behind why the villains of the story did what they were doing. Naturally, he tossed the book, and barely thought about it except to remind himself that if someone that bad at writing could publish any work, then he could more than function in society. That was where it was supposed to end. But he woke up in that book. He woke up in that book in the child body of one of the punching bags for the heroes, and since he woke up he's realizing more and more that the book was wrong. If he wants to survive what's to come, if he wants his new family to survive the 'heroes' that will burn down everything he's growing to love, he'll need to learn how to navigate a political landscape for a country he had no idea existed in that book. He needs to survive, and it's not just for himself anymore.

Contaminated Prince Re-Release
Unfortunately while early release is not in the cards, it does look like the predicted release of September still holds true.
9/16/2026 will be the re-release for chapter 1, and updates will follow a bi-weekly update schedule of Wednesdays and Fridays.
Patreon will open up for any who wish to utilize it 9/17/2026, though purchase of the books already written and ready to go will be available 9/16/2026.
Reminder; this story will always be available to be read for free. You do not have to do Patreon if you do not want to, that just means you'll be on a slower update schedule.
Patch Notes for Contaminated Prince
The naming culture for Demonic Cities has been altered to fit the pre-existing lore more accurately.
The lore involving the history of Joaalu before it’s removal from the physical realm and relocation into the Void has been updated to be more in depth.
The naming system for Joaalu citizens has been simplified, but none of the first names for any character is being changed.
Family names are being added instead of switching between guardian middle names and first names over and over again
Primary guardian middle names are still traditionally given to the first child
Primary guardian parent middle names will be given to subsequent children
Secondary guardian first names are still traditionally given as middle names.
Secondary guardian parent first names will be given to subsequent children.
Family names are being added for convenience of in world Census collection and ease of clan identification.
Names can still be backlisted on family registries, preventing reuse in a later generation.
More cities have been added for the sake of the economy making more sense.
The country of Joaalu has increased in size to accommodate these changes.
Biomes have been added.
Three cities that were floating islands have been relegated to ground level to reflect biome changes.
Weather is being added; more than the two modes that existed previously.
Seasons are being added.
The original placement of Joaalu prior to it’s existence in the Void has been finalized, and as a result the temperatures are a bit colder. This will be reflected in the day to day life of the residents in story.
There will now by sunrises and sunsets, the means of which have already been determined and are just being finalized to ensure it complies with the updated magic system, god lore, and historical lore.
The magic system in use in the story is being patched to cover plot holes and inconsistencies.
Personal concerns from the writer and editor regarding demons being too overpowered is being addressed and they are being nerfed.
This will be handled in such a way that they are still terrifying for anyone who cannot use Ambient magic to face, but so that they still have a chance at fighting back.
More name-worthy characters are being added to enrich the world.
Going forward, more and more characters will only look minimally human, eventually evening out into a 50/50 mix of humanoid vs non-humanoid.
Existing mythological creatures will be incorporated beyond humanoid ones.
Some already named characters that were not introduced or did not have much screen time are being recycled or erased from the plot.
Please be assured that their existence in the story, if they are erased from the plot, is still there; they are merely no longer relevant for the storyline being read.
If a character is recycled, they keep the name and personality, but may change species, age, or occupation.
The lore behind the gods is being fine tuned to better flow with the plot, and add more intrigue.
Demons now have two patron gods
This opens an entirely new branch of magic for the priests of Joaalu.
As such, priest ranks are being reworked to accommodate for this.
A backlog of work is being created for the sake stress free and regular updates once a week.
A Patreon is being worked on with three Tiers, each has additional perks.
Tier 1 is a chapter a week early and holiday oneshots.
Tier 2 is a chapter four weeks early (By the time Free readers get chapter one Tier 2 has chapters 1-4), holiday oneshots, and other character’s POV or short stories regarding certain scenes from the main storyline.
Tier 3 is a chapter twelve weeks early (By the time free readers get chapter one Tier 3 has chapters 1-12), holiday oneshots, other character’s POV or short stories regarding certain scenes from the main storyline, doodles/concept art, sneak peeks regarding the story much further down the road, and extensive world building lore that contains spoilers.
The Patreon will not be open for use until 24 hours after the free re-release of chapter 1, to ensure those interested actually read the chapter and are certain they wish to spend their money. Tier 3 will automatically have 12 backlogged chapters for review, tier 2 will automatically have four backlogged chapters for review, and tier 1 will automatically have one early chapter for review.
The chapters will remain between 6000 to 9000 words each, to grant more leniency when creating them.
Every 60,000 to 100,000 words, the chapters will be rounded up into a physical/digital book that will be listed for sale.
This does not mean those chapters will be removed from the internet.
It is purely for anyone who would like a physical or digital copy.
This story will always have a free to read version online.
The physical/digital book will have content not seen on any Patreon tier to sweeten the deal.
Estimated ETA for the rewritten story posting; N/A.
A small list of original works I'm working on, but Contaminated Prince is at the Top of the list.
The rest is what I'm working on in-between Contaminated Prince, my job, and the fanfiction I write as well.
1: Contaminated Prince (Summary subject to change, early rendition)
When Miach had been in high school, in his previous life, he'd read a book so horrifically bad he'd never been able to forget it. Like, even reincarnated, he remembered it. Specifically, reincarnated as the poor bastard who was doomed to be captured by the demented 'hero' party, tortured, and relegated to a stress relief punching bag as the 'heroes' fought the armies of the Demon King. Desperate to avoid the events of the book, he accidentally ran straight into the arms, and home, of the very Demon King he sought to avoid. But the book was wrong, and he knows far less than he thought he did. Miach now must navigate a world more complex and fraught with political strife than he'd ever thought he'd have to get involved with, and factions thought to be weeded out are waking up. Forget surviving the 'heroes', will he even be able to survive his adopted grandfather's courts?
2: World of Dust; a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign. (Title and summary subject to change, early rendition)
Strosie is a world of ancient ruins and old, forgotten secrets. The people of that world, however, have built upon it and thrived regardless. Despite a few warring countries, the world is as stable as it's ever been. Then one country, Indol, stops responding, and it wasn't one of the warring ones. A new enemy is invading, bearing no known crest and brandishing unknown weapons of mass destruction. They kill indiscriminately, and do not limit their attacks to just one country. All reports of them indicate that they are targeting the ruins, searching for something. Tucked away in the backwater town of Sekixal, a merchant by the name of Axi swears that they know where the invaders are going to look next. A quest has been posted from any and all guilds, from the Postal Guild to the Thieves Guild to the International Union of Librarians; talk to Axi, find out what they know, and through any means necessary stop the invaders in their tracks. Because if anyone looks at the time between the first sightings of these invaders and the downfall of Indol, it only took thirty days. Right now the invaders are only searching, but once they find what they're looking for and focus on another country, no one knows who's next.
3; The Monsters Within (Title and summary subject to change, early rendition, young adult novel)
Willow has had a bad streak of luck; she lost her hometown to the largest tornado in American history, can't seem to fit into her new school or find friends, and is dogged by the guilt of surviving the impossible every waking moment. Worst of all, she believes, is the depression that followed the guilt. One moment of uncertainty, one moment of believing that the angry little voice telling her to die was right, and her life was altered forever. Because that little voice wasn't just in her head. It was a very real monster, living in her shadow, trying to eat her. She's thrown into a world she had no idea existed; the fae are real, magic is real, monsters are real, kings and queens for kingdoms she didn't know existed shop at the same grocery store she does. But with the magic, comes enemies. The thing in her shadow is not the only thing that wants to eat her, and those unknown kingdoms are on the brink of war. There's something stirring in her new town, something that can upset the delicate balance and trigger those kingdoms into fighting, and if she can't learn how to control the monster in her shadow, she's going to lose another home.
4; The Highly (Un)Qualified Wizard (Title and summary subject to change, early rendition)
Karma's had a shit life. She's been homeless essentially since she ran away from her cult at seventeen, and she hasn't had much luck picking herself up off the ground. But one night, out of desperation to not go back to jail for trespassing (it was an abandoned hospital, what trespassing?), she tells the police a little white lie; they can't arrest her, because she's a wizard, they're in her Wizard Tower, and she's subject to Wizard Law. Except. She said it in front of a small group of her peers, who immediately backed her up. She claimed an unowned piece of land as her Wizard Tower. Her white lie was acknowledged by the cops, who just didn't want to deal with her, which means it was acknowledged by local authorities. By Wizard Law, she is actually a Wizard now, and that hospital is her Wizard Tower. But there's a huge issue; she's not actually a wizard, and she can't use magic. At all. If the Council of WIzards finds out that she's lying, not only will she lose her new home, but she'll definitely go to prison, not jail. She can't let that happen. Luckily, Karma's used to bullshitting her way out of situations, so she's...relatively confident she can bullshit her way out of this one, too.
Tentative release for the updated Chronicles of the Contaminated Prince
This includes the backlog that will be available to read on Patreon (should anyone decide they like it enough to do that, but you don't have to; it will always be available for free, just on a slower update schedule), as well as the backlog that won't be available for anyone for a time.
Upon release, there will also be enough written for one or two books that will be up for sale. I already have my eye on an artist to commission for the title art for those books, and I'm pretty excited about that.
Tentative re-release date is September of 2026, but I'll know for sure around the June or July mark whether or not it can get released sooner.
Due to certain IRL reasons, the next chapter for Contaminated Prince will release 2/6/2024 and the next chapter for Fayeport Wolfhound will release 2/8/2024.
Sorry for the inconvenience
