My warden hated the circle, but they LOVED Dagna’s enthusiasm, and absolutely helped them (especially since shes not a mage, so shes probably kinda safe in a circle). Honestly Dagna learnt more at the Circle than Vanguard did (I have a whole…headcanon on the mage wardens and how much they were taught at the circle)
yes i think the fact that dagna cant actually do magic makes her more welcome at the circle than you would think at first, bc for her its literally just a learning experience. she isnt being forced to be there.
i like to think that she doesnt realize how bad circles can be until she starts visiting them and all her stories of her circle life are peppered with things like ‘it was ok for me but im not a mage’ or ‘this circle had nicer templars’ or ‘i know my circle experiences arent anything like mages’ experiences”

Also, imagine that the name Dagna means Safety to a lot of the lost/hunted mages- she probably helped alot of them out, giving them information and even sometimes creating bonds between people and places. Dagna is a friend of the mages and her unique position could make her have an incredible capacity to help them
yes i definitely agree with dagna helping mages in whatever way she can. and i think, if her story were taken in the right direction, she could be like that guy who saved ppl thousands in student debt by burning down a records building, erasing all evidence of it ever existing. imagine dagna pushed too far, who creates an explosive diversion to keep templars busy while she sneaks in and destroys every phylactery.
and when she eventually leaves the circle, she provides safe harbor for escaped mages, and because she is so trusted by the circles, she is never brought in to suspicion.
