"Baby, the photographer uploaded our engagement pictures! We have to see which ones we want for the website, the Save the Dates, and the official invitations. Come see!" Candice called as she set up her laptop on the kitchen table while she finished putting their dinner in their places. "You look so handsome. I really am marrying the sexiest guy alive." she smirked as she sat down clicking through the photos.

For: Ellie Thompson

Candice had been very worried about Ellie after the gala, but she gave her a few days to regroup before asking if she would be willing to come over to her house. Ayden had a playdate with a friend from preschool so he would be gone for a few hours which would be perfect timing for some girl time. She put some lemonade and glasses out on her back porch after arranging some comfy chairs for them to sit outside. She was happy with her little house that had little ocean touches around because she always loved the water and ocean. Ayden seemed to enjoy it as well and they were making a mural of different shells, wood, and glass that they found on the beach every time they went. About half of his wall was full but she could tell that the mural was not complete. She heard her doorbell and went to the door opening it with a soft smile and a hug as she saw Ellie on the other side. “Hi, Friend. Ready for some lemonade and good company?”

Candice yawned as she snuggled a little more into Nico. She had come over to his place after her shift at the hospital to watch a movie. The movie was pretty much over and she felt like she should probably leave. "Well this was nice." she smiled. "I guess I should be heading home. Get some sleep for the next day and a half before I am able to run some errands and have to get ready for another three days of twelve-hour shifts." she smiled. "Thank you for the food and movie. It was really sweet of you." she smiled kissing his cheek.

Night shift

Candice slipped her backpack around her before going to the back and unbuckling a sleeping Ayden. She had night shift tonight and one of her coworkers had already asked her about covering her shift so she was probably going to be at the hospital probably into the next night if she was lucky. She was so thankful for the hospital’s daycare that she could always bring Ayden with her no matter when or how long her shifts were. She had managed to give him a few hours in his bed before changing his clothes and carefully driving him to her job. She picked up his sleeping form slowly so he wouldn’t wake up and carried him and their things into the hospital’s employee entrance. She made her way to the daycare carefully handing her son over to the daycare worker giving him a kiss on his head before leaving and promising she would be back to eat some breakfast with him when he woke up. She made her way to the staff room where she could put her things and get started on her night. Her briefing was at the nurse’s station letting them know all the critical patients and emergencies that had come in that night. She was told her patients and began her rounds. She opened the door to a room smiling. She found that smiling and a positive attitude put patients at ease along with their families. “Hi, I’m Candice and I’ll be your nurse tonight. How are you feeling?” she smiled as she picked up the chart to look over the patient’s notes before starting to take vitals.

Where: Candice’s House, The Palacio For: Cliodhna

Candice was glad she could entertain more people. She had always loved having people over to the beach house she shared with Ryan in California. They had a small group of friends, but she still liked entertaining them. Now that she was gaining more friends in Monleon, she had more opportunities to entertain which was a good and bad thing. Good because she loved having people around. Bad because she had to hold back from the majority of those people and she knew that at some point she was going to have to disappear with Ayden if people were sniffing too close to her. But she didn’t like to think about that. She preferred to think about the here and now. Here and now, she had invited Cliodhna over for Irish coffee and chit chat about Irish things. She had missed that so much. 

She had just sat down the tray with cups and sandwiches when she heard the door. She smiled and hopped over to the door opening it. “Hey, I’m glad you found my house alright.” She moved so the other woman could enter. “Irish coffee good for you? I didn’t put Bailey’s in because I wanted you to choose your own adventure for yours.” she grinned.

Candice sighed as she walked into the jazz bar. She needed a drink and a little time away from Ayden. She loved her son to bits and he was good for the most part, but they had their moments when they drove each other crazy. They both needed a break from each other so meeting up with Vega tonight was in the best interest of both parties. Ayden was happy with the sitter and Candice was going to be happy talking and drinking with Vega. She was so glad to have a trustworthy friend in this new place. Someone who knew her past and understood her worries. Vega was just an awesome person that she was glad to have in her life. She found a free space in the bar and ordered a whiskey as she waited for her friend to appear. After looking around the club, she smiled seeing her friend approaching. “Best Irish whiskey in town every time I come. You have to tell me your supplier so I can strike a deal for home delivery service.” she grinned before taking a sip of her drink. “The club is as lively as ever. How are you doing?”

Candice had been a bit late to the gala, but she had caught up with glasses of champagne. She wasn’t drunk, but she was a bit tipsy. She had been chatting up some people before she realized she had to go to the bathroom really badly. She made it just in time, but heard something as she left the restroom. She looked around and saw Ellie outside of the grand ballroom and she could sense that something was not good. She and Ellie had become very close since Ayden had dragged her into Ellie’s store that day and she read her palm. They shared a very special connection. Not just because she could feel Ryan’s energy around her and Ayden, but because Candice could tell that Ellie was a good person that needed a friend just like she did. She walked over to her and put her hand on her back softly. “You forgot to mention the great champagne that was in my future.” she teased softly. “Is everything okay?”
