so what I've noticed while writing my fic is how badly Cynthia wants Hayden but she knows she can't have him (because he's a. gay and b. in a slightly toxic relationship) like, she's there for him probably more often than other friends in his life. idk why but I feel for her??
but on that same note Hayden notices how bad Cynthia wants him (romantically of course) and kind of ignores it at the same time because he doesn't want to hurt Cynthia/break her heart, and he's also afraid of Malcolm's reaction to the information (see earlier point about them being in a slightly toxic relationship).
like y'know they (Hayden and Cynthia) both want each other to be happy but my GOD the two should communicate that somehow. Cynthia doesn't think Hayden notices how badly she wants him, but he definitely notices and it may or may not cause a lot of tension. I like to think that their social circles notice it too and it's a hot topic of discussion amongst the group. (I mean, wouldn't it be in any social group?)
(tl;dr Cynthia really likes Hayden and wants to be with him but it can't be. She thinks he doesn't notice, he does, and wants to acknowledge it but alas, his boyfriend may not like that information. )
