I want to ask about Coral and Pearl cookies omgg, can you give us an intro for them? (Or if you already did, link us to the post and give us your headcanons instead???)

okay the only reason i didn’t answer this ask immediately was so i could make this for you to see!! i actually made them because @105ttt compiled a list of cookiewars pets without cookies to match, so pearl belongs with queen pearl, and coral is with pink coral!

that being said. i created pearl cookie (she/her) and coral cookie (they/them) with the idea in mind that since there are centaur and dryad and kraken and other shapeshifting cookies, why not mermaid cookies?

so basically.... a group of mermaid cookies came together to protect the ocean while sea fairy (their goddess) was frozen, some of whom protected the tower of waves directly and some who patrolled the open seas, making sure sailors were safe and such. the ones who protected the tower of waves were basically sea fairy’s honor guard, and it was considered the highest privilege to guard sea fairy and her tower while she was defenseless at the top- pearl, with her oyster shell shield and conch spear, is part of that honor guard!

coral is one of the ones who watches the open ocean, but they’re pretty close to the tower of waves, and help ferry news between the tower of waves guards and the rest of the mercookies, so they’re friends with pearl! pearl tends to be very serious and duty-oriented because of her station, but coral gets her to loosen up; at the same time pearl reminds coral of the value of responsibility, and they get along well apart from the occasional disagreement!

also a fun fact about coral: their hair and trident are staghorn coral, their tail and their top are fan coral, and the lateral fins are fire coral and can sting!

Assuming Seaweed Cookie knows Pearl Cookie and Coral Cookie… how does Kelpie feel about them? And are they friends with Queen Pearl and Pink Coral?

seaweed does know both of them, so kelpie knows them too! seaweed is around coral more often, since she isn't near the tower of waves as much (where pearl usually stays) so kelpie is more used to coral, but kelpie warmed up to pearl faster! since pearl tends to be calmer, she made kelpie feel more comfortable, so kelpie stopped hiding and started interacting with her sooner than they did with coral. they do like coral, but sometimes coral is too energetic for them and they end up going back to seaweed to rest. BUT coral helped kelpie come out of their shell, so to speak, and kelpie has been a little less shy since meeting coral and their pet!!

kelpie really likes pink coral because they can hang on to one of pink coral's branches and ride along as they swim, and they have a game where kelpie holds on and pink coral tries to get them off (most of the time they can't shake kelpie off and end up sitting exhausted in the sand). whenever seaweed and coral meet up, kelpie and pink coral are basically inseparable, and kelpie is always sad when they have to leave :(

kelpie and queen pearl get along too!! kelpie always tries to play with their pearl and queen pearl always has to remind them that they can't take the pearl out of the shell because it's part of their body 😔 neither of them can swim as well as pink coral so they tend to rest and spend time together, but they're still good friends! they do like to play hide n seek because there isn't much swimming involved and they're both good at hiding
