New @jj-pines Indigo and Calvin art drop and I can’t get over it! So, here!
Also, this may be one of two depending on if I want to write smut (because I am unhinged, and I can't get over this image and I'm think things!) BUT I'm not promising anything!
Here is the Bridgehid Masterlist if you want it too!
Spring on Maquis Island is a beautiful site, all the greenery and flowers along with the little fairies and other creatures on the land. Calvin’s favorite season! All the beautiful growth of the world makes him happy, coming off the death of the winter season it is a wonderful sight watching everything begin to grow again, and of course, his birthday is the last day of April.
The spring season also allowed the Corals’ family gatherings to continue, midday visits to Amethea and Finnian’s cottage or for the whole family to come to the Bookstone-Corals house to sit out on the verandah and enjoy a good brunch and good conversation.
Since it was Indigo and Calvin’s turn to host for the weekend, the two of them were doing the dishes as Amethea, Antoniette, and Finnian could socialize with Spiro as he was visiting.
“I would like to get some new plants tomorrow,” Indigo spoke softly, “I want to get some climbing hydrangeas.”
Calvin hummed with a smile, “and honeysuckles,” she added.
“Where are we putting them?” Calvin asked, quietly.
“I want to put them outside our bedroom window,” She answered, “our bedroom windows, they look so bare compared to the rest of the house.”
“It is on the second floor.”
“I know,” Indigo sighed.
The healer chuckled at the pout on his wife’s face, “Don’t worry, angel, I’ll get you the plants you want.”
She smiled, “You’re the best husband ever.”
After being married for years, she’s continuing to make his heart do flips, “Wisteria may be nice too, could help with fertility too,” Indigo declared, “So would raspberries.”
Calvin let out a laugh as he continued to stare down at her while doing their clean dishes, “You are saying that to a doctor,” he muttered.
“I’m not saying they will, I’m saying they could,” Indigo replied with a little giggle, “I’m sorry that I want to have your children so badly that I'm willing to eat raspberries and put wisteria outside our bedroom windows.”
“What would help our chances is if people would leave us alone,” Calvin remarked.
Indigo laughed, “Then go tell Mère and père to leave.”
“I’m going to tell your parents to leave just so we have sex,” Calvin chuckled.
Indigo shrugged, “No, tell them to leave, I bet Mère and père would understand,” Indigo joked.
“Oh yeah, the same man that looked like he was going to kill me when they all caught us making out in the library,” the healer retorted.
The French mage snickered, “I still wonder if he likes me sometimes,” Calvin sighed.
“He likes you, grenade,” she declared, “but I am his little girl.”
“I know,” he hummed, before he whispered, leaning over making their shoulders touch, “but are also my girl.”
“Careful~”
“But don’t want to be careful~” It’s taking so much self-control for him not to pull her toward him, while her hands are still in the sink, “besides you are the one who brought up babies.”
“I brought fertility!” She exclaimed, before covering her mouth, “that was loud.”
Calvin glanced over his shoulder, “We’re fine,” he muttered.
“The last thing I need is tante teasing me or Uncle Spiro trying to kill you,” Indigo huffed.
Calvin chuckled once again, watching her wash one of the last dishes in the sink as he dried the one in his hand, “If we are going to get plants tomorrow, we might as well get groceries…” Indigo began before he couldn’t process the words she was saying.
He knows she’s talking, and he can hear her beautiful velvety angel voice get he’s not retaining the grocery list she is citing off from the top of her head. No, he’s just staring at her, with a content smile across his lips.
“Skurwiel, I hate this forest,” Percy muttered, “Why can’t we just cut it all down?”
“Imagine the effect in the environmental effects, Percy,” Calvin remarked, walking through one of the deepest and densest parts of the mystical forest with Georgia, Maverick, and Nemo, “a forest this big house more than just the curse creatures Duke constantly let free, but magical properties as well. Many witches, alchemists, and mages, live in it. Plus, there are tons of minerals and useful materials—”
“I get it, I get it,” Percy scoffed, “Doesn’t make it any less creepy.”
“Mr. Corals, are we going to be able to get out?” Georgia asked, fear lacing her voice as she clung to Nemo’s arm.
Calvin looked back at the group of teens flashing her his signature smile, “Of course, Georgia.”
“What about Rowan and Elias?” Maverick asked.
“Indigo and Sloan are looking for them,” Percy answered, “Knowing Indigo and her feline, once they are located, we’ll be able to find one another.”
“Don’t call Hecate a feline, like it’s an insult,” Calvin commented, “She’s a sweet little baby.”
“She is a nuisance,” Percy mumbled, before looking further ahead of them and seeing another pack of wild cursed creatures, “Goddess, will this ever stop.”
“When we get out of here,” Nemo scoffed.
Then a big burst of light hit the pack of animals, causing them to scatter, and Indigo poked her head out from behind a tree.
“Indigo?!” Percy gasped.
Calvin stared at her in shock, watching her every moment as she came out from behind the tree, “ Where is Sloan?” he asked.
“We got separated, so I came and found you,” she answered.
There came a sense of ease once she enjoyed their little group with an uncharacteristic bounce to her stride, and a smile on her face as her hands latch behind her back. No one knew it, but Calvin could no longer hold his normal gaze, or look on his face. He was staring off gently or dreaming looking at his wife, no he looked at her slightly confused as a pit formed in the depth of his stomach.
“Hecate!” Georgia exclaimed running towards the cat after she jumped out of a brush, the seer girl picked up the black cat off the forest floor giving her some nice head scratches, “You sweet baby, you found us!”
“Sloan must be nearby,” Percy remarked.
Hecate jumped out of Georgia’s arms, staring intently at Indigo before her back arched and the fur on her back stood up, growling and hissing at the woman in front of her, “Hecate, babe, what’s wrong that’s your momma!”
Calvin’s hand immediately went to his sword, “Calvin?” Percy asked, apprehensively, before watching Calvin draw his sword and hold it to Indigo’s neck.
“We met in the school’s west garden in early December, what flowers were blooming?” he asked harshly.
Indigo laughed, “Are you serious?”
“Answer the question!” Her replied with narrow eyes.
“Calvin?!”
“Dude, what are doing!?”
“Mr. Corals…”
“Moonflowers and Wisteria, and of course all the other winter flowers,” Indigo answered.
“What was the color of your wedding dress?”
“… It was pink, Calvin come on this is ridiculous.”
“When did we get married?”
“Calvin come on! This is preposterous,” Percy scoffed, “It’s her!”
“Whoever this is, is not my wife,” Calvin spat out through gritted teeth, “When did we get married?!”
“Calvin that was forever ago, how I am supposed to remember a date like that,” Indigo replied tilting her head to the side and smiling, “We love each other that all that matters right?”
There is then silence, “Would you like to ask me questions, Percy? So, I have to prove that I am me?”
Percy stepped back shielding Nemo, Georgia, and Maverick, “Professor?” Georgia asked.
“If I say run, you run, got it?” she stated.
The three students looked at the science teacher confused, “What’s our daughter’s name?” Calvin asked.
“Calvin, we don’t have a daughter,” Indigo mocked.
“What’s her name?”
“How can a give the name of someone who doesn’t even exist?!” Indigo exclaimed with a sense of fear lacing her voice. “If we don’t have a daughter, how would I know her nam-eh gah…”
“We have a daughter—”
“Oh, I like this already~”
“Darling~”
“Alright, we have a daughter, and?”
“What is her name?”
“Fayette has always been at the top of my list, Marguerite too, it’s hard to choose.”
“What about Aurora?”
“Like the Northern Light?”
“I was thinking more along the lines of the dawn, but that is also fitting.”
“Sweet Aurora Bookstone-Corals, mhm, I like the sound of that!”
“You have a very keen eye,” ‘Indigo’ coughed.
“I knew you weren’t here the moment we met!” Calvin commented twisting the sword further into this creature's stomach, “I know my wife, and you may masquerade as her, but you are not her, nor will you ever be her!”
I am fully prepared (No I'm fucking not) for @jj-pines and @lerenee to use this fic against me.

“Love?”
She looks at him with a dejected gaze, wrapped in a security blanket of sorts, nothing like the little mage he knew. She’s wasting away.
“If there is anything I need to do, I’ll get to it later,” she muttered.
Sloan sat next to her, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her close, “That’s not why I’m here,” he softly commented, “You’re worrying me, Percy, too.”’
“I’m rather good at that, worrying people.”
“I can’t imagine how you feel, let alone Calvin,” Sloan sighed.
Indigo was uncharacteristically silent at the mention of Calvin, yet her body shook, and her head hung low, “What’s wrong,” he asked.
“I think he hates me.”
“Calvin Corals, hating you of all people,” Sloan mused before shaking his head, “No I don’t believe that.”
“He hasn’t talked in two months,” Indigo replied, “What other reason would he have not to talk to me anymore.”
“Indigo—”
“Do you think I can make him love me again…”
Sloan sighed, “You truly believe he has fallen out of love with you that quickly?”
“I did nothing when I saw her!” Indigo lamented looking at her comatose daughter, “I am the reason she is like this, I did this to her. She is my daughter I am supposed to protect her and here she is, in a coma because of me.”
“Indigo you’re not at fault—”
“I never knew that I would ever miss the sound of someone’s voice so much!” Indigo continued, “I don’t want anything right now but my daughter to wake up and for my husband to just talk to me!”
“You should go home,” Sloan murmured, “sitting here isn’t going to help you right now.”
Indigo hummed, getting up out of her seat and kissing her sleeping daughter’s forehead before leaving, rather than fighting on the issue. Sloan also stood, spotting his husband and putting supplies in storage. The one-eyed alchemist then had an idea. Walking up behind Casper tapping his shoulder, taking ahold of his hands when the brownie attempted to greet him.
Bending down to be level with Casper’s ear, “Would like to hatch a little plot with me?” Sloan asked.
“Of course,” Casper whispered back, “I hatch plots with no one else, but you.”
Sloan chuckled before kissing Casper’s cheek, “Wonderful,” the alchemist sighed.
Casper knocked on the doorframe to Calvin’s office later that night, “What do you need Casper?” He asked, with a cruel tone and beyond tired.
“I need you to go home.” He signed.
“I’m fine—”
“Lying to me isn’t a good idea!” Casper replied with narrow eyes. “Go home, you need to sleep, and you need to spend some time with Indigo.”
“I—”
Casper pointed to the infirmary exit, “Fine,” Calvin huffed, “If anything happens with Aurora—”
“I will contact you immediately!” Casper signed, “Now go!”
Calvin sighed once more before leaving and heading home, checking on his sleeping twins, even though they were beyond the age of needing to be checked on during the night, it felt right to pier in on their sleeping figures.
Being back home finally made him realize how desperate he was for his own bed, shower, and even beyond just the familiar scent of home, that mix of eucalyptus and cedar that almost smelled like the rain.
He found Indigo in bed wrapped in their sheets in one of his shirts, sleeping away clutching at a pillow as if it were him. Tottering his way over to her, he kissed her cheek rubbing at her side, “Je suis désolée Je suis rentré si tard.” He muttered, before heading toward the bathroom.
“Calvin.”
Her voice made him freeze, and his heart stopped, she sounded so sad and scared. He had never heard so depressed before in his entire life, and he sure never thought he would ever hear her say his name in such a tone. He turned around and looked at her, she’s hollow, a shell, lip quivering at him. Her appearance makes him want to wrap her up in his arms and hold her close but his body forbids him from doing so, forbids him from opening his mouth, forbids him from speaking.
“Can we talk?” She croaked.
He stood ever frozen he continued to stare, “I know I am the last person you want to talk to right now—”
Oh, no, no no non, that’s so far from the truth.
“— but I can’t do this anymore! The silence so unbearable!”
“Indi—”
“It was one thing when you left and stayed in the infirmary, I hate not sleeping next to you, but I can deal with that, but I need to hear your voice! I miss you so much it hurt!”
“I know you are angry at me and utterly detest me but please—uhmhm!”
It felt like he hadn’t kissed her in years and the last thing he wanted to do was stop! He wants to continue to cradle her in his arms, chest pressed again chest, lips interlocked as if to prove that he still loved her like it he always had since they had first met.
When they finally parted, Calvin rested his forehead against Indigo’s touching their noses together in soft butterfly kisses, “I’m sorry,” he panted, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry..”
He continued to repeat the words like a mantra while kissing her cheeks and down her neck, “I don’t hate you, I could never hate you! I love you! I love you so much! I keep failing you, I keep failing our children, I guess I thought that keeping my distance until I could make things better would fix our problems… Obviously, I was wrong.”
“Calvin,” Indigo exhaled as he continued to kiss her skin laying her down in their bed, bawling his clothes within her fist as he laid on top of her.
“Do you forgive me, angel, can you forgive me,” Calvin yearned in her ear, “I’ll do anything for you to forgive me, angel eyes, just tell me what I have to do.”
“You don’t need to do anything,” Indigo longed, a hand wrapping in his curls, “I forgive you.”
Calvin groaned into the crock of her neck, “You probably want to take a shower,” Indigo muttered.
“No, I’m staying right here, and we’re talking,” he replied.
They spoke most of the night about nothing and everything all at once, Falling asleep early in the morning.
“Do you want breakfast?” Calvin asked, getting out of bed the following morning.
Indigo groaned, “No, I’m not really hungry.”
“Have you been eating properly?”
“I don’t want to answer that.”
Calvin rolled his eyes kissing her cheek, “I’m gonna jump in the shower, are you going to the college today?”
“Yeah.” Indigo muttered into her pillow, “There is some stuff that I need to finish.”
“Do you want to go in together?”
“I’d like that.”
She would join him in the shower a few minutes after he’d got in, he would play with her hair as she attempted to make herself look presentable, distracting each other while getting dressed, before walking hand and hand to the college. Outside the infirmary, Calvin peppered her face in kisses muttering French sweet nothings to her.
“I’ll come and we’ll have lunch together, alright?”
Indigo nodded, “I’ll text updates with our girl once I get them.”
“Thank you.”
“I love you,” he yearned holding her face in his hands.
“I love you too,” she replied in the same tone before kissing softly before leaving for her office.
“Thank goddess,” Sloan sighed, walking to the infirmary, a witness to the lover's scene in front of the infirmary, “The world is healing.”
I adore Indigo and Calvin's babes, enjoy

@jj-pines @lerenee
There aren’t a lot of redheads working in the infirmary, it just sorts of happened that way, yet there is one notable redhead who works in the medical center, not only has a part of her education track but also under the guidance of her father the man heading the operations in the sanatorium.
They called her Aurora.
“Sweet Aurora~”
“Why am I not surprised,” Aurora sighed, entering the small hospital room where a young man with a dark complexation sat on the exam bed, holding his arm as his pink hair fell into his eyes almost covering his clay-colored iris, the oldest Bookstone-Corals child knew he was smirking under his face cover, “What is it today, Florian?”
He sighed, “See, I’ve gone and broken my arm just to see you.”
Aurora hummed sitting in one of the little chairs, to sit in front of him, “What is the real reason you broke your arm?” She asked rolling up his long sleeve and putting her healing hands to work.
“I was helping Mr. Casper in the greenhouse,” He began, “I slipped off A ladder.”
“One of the step stools,” she questioned coyly.
“No, I was picking apples off one of the trees.”
“At least you were trying to be helpful,” Aurora remarked.
Florian chuckled, “You look cute today,” he muttered.
“I look how I do every day,” Aurora replied.
“It means you look cute every day.”
Aurora shook her head before looking up at him, “Will you let me work in peace?”
Florian smiled, “I can’t help that my nurse is beautiful and just happens to be my girlfriend.”
“Florian,” Aurora sighed with a smile.
“Aurora~” Florian sighed.
The redhead shook her head again before she removed her hands from his arm, “I’m going to go get you an arm sling, you’ll have to wear it for a couple of weeks,” she informed, “Can you behave yourself while I’m gone?”
The young man sighed dramatically, “If I must.”
Aurora exited the exam room retrieving the arm sling, “Aurora.”
She looked over her shoulder seeing Maverick, “Yeah?”
“Your dad wants you to check on Finnegan before your shift ends today.”
“Why can’t he do it?” Aurora sighed, “He’s the one that told him to float in the pools anyway.”
Maverick shrugged, “I can do—”
“No, it’s fine,” Aurora replied, before taking the arm sling to her boyfriend, “I’ll check on him.”
Down in the healing pools that turquoise-hair boy that looks too much like his mother floats in one of the large healing pools per his father’s instructions. He can hear footsteps enter the room as he floats in the water.
“You alive Finn?” Aurora asked standing at the water’s edge.
“I’m not face down, am I?” He retorted.
“Clearly not,” she replied.
“Why are you here?”
“Pere told me to check on you,” she answered.
Finnegan sighed, “I’m fine, I just had the shit kicked out me, nothing to worry about.” Very much his mother’s son getting in trouble because of his temper.
“You shouldn’t have challenged a guy twice your size,” Aurore remarked.
He scoffed before standing in the pool, “He should have never put his hands on my sister,” He stated firmly, his deep ocean-blue eyes staring into Aurora’s soul.
She sighed, this aforementioned guy twice Finnegan’s size was very upset when Aurora informed him that she was in a relationship and made an attempt to get physical. The eldest Bookstone-Corals child hadn’t even told her parents only her sibling.
“Just get out of the pool so we can go home,” Aurora huffed.
“You don’t have to walk me home, I’m fine!” he muttered climbing up the steps of the large pool, “Go get Florian and have him walk you home.”
Aurora narrowed her eyes at her little brother, “Just dry off and come on!”
“Alright,” Finnegan huffed.
The brother and sister duo emerged from the healing pools linking up with Florian as he sighed in the infirmary waiting for his girlfriend like a gentleman. The three scholars headed toward this main campus exit before a few mage professors ran by as they ran from the magical wing of the college to the alchemy wing.
“Ms. Nozadze, what’s wrong?!” Florian asked.
“Alex is fighting Hughard,” Georgia huffed before running down the hall following her colleagues.
Finnegan and Aurora sighed, “You gotta be kidding me.”
In one of the training yards, there was a regular guy pinned in the dirt with a petite individual on top of him, keeping him in the dirt using plant magic and shoving dirt in his face. They look very much like their father, with their pink eyes and black hair.
“You try to assault my sister after she rejects, then you beat the shit out of my brother after you lose the duel you agreed to!” Alexandria yelled, “How does it feel Hugh, huh!”
Georgia attempted to use magic to separate the two, but Alexandria is their mother’s child.
“I’m going to get help!” Georgia squeaked before running off.
Aurora attempted to pull their sibling off the large senior in the ground, but it was no use, she wasn’t strong enough, although it didn’t stop her from trying.
“Alex, fucking stop,” Finnegan huffed, finally trying to help his sister pull them off of Hughard. “NO! HE DESERVES IT!”
“Violence isn’t the answer to this, Alexandria!” Aurora panted.
“VIOLENCE IS THE ANSWER WHEN THIS DUDE IS A SERIAL ASSAULTER!”
“I only tried to punch Aurora,” Hughard squealed.
“THAT’S STILL ASSAULT!” Alexandria and Finnegan yelled. For a millisecond, Finnegan thought about letting his twin go and let them continue to beat this asshole.
“Goddess, dude, you are dumb as fuck,” Florian muttered, watching from the sidelines as Aurora and Finnegan still struggled to get Alexandria off Hughard for a good few minutes.
“ALEXANDRIA FLETCHER BOOKSTONE-CORALS!”
Alexandria froze looking towards the entrance from the training yard seeing her father staring daggers at them with his arms firmly crossed in front of his chest as their mother stood beside him looking at him shocked, yet with a smirk across her lips. Their sudden freeze caused Finnegan to stubble back and Aurora to fall back into the dirt, but of course, Florian, even with a broken arm, came to her rescue.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Calvin asked in a huff.
“Daddy, he tried to hit Aurora, and then when Finnegan won their duel, he beat him up! He’s harassed every girl on campus!” Alexandria explained getting off Hughard, “It’s only right that he eats dirt!”
“Cerise, what happened?” Indigo asked.
“Hughard asked me to go out for coffee, I declined polity, and he then got upset by my rejection and attempted to punch me.” Aurora answered, “Finnegan then challenged him to a bit of sparing as an act of revenge and got hurt in the process."
Indigo looked to her son, "Meil, is this true?"
He nodded, "I’m assuming Alexandria did the same thing I did after I went to the infirmary," Finnegan added.
“And it looks like they won,” Florian joked, earning a high five from Finnegan.
“Hughard Moltant?” Indigo said approaching the young man as he still was trapped in the dirt.
“Yes, Mrs. Bookstone,” He replied shakily.
“I have gotten many complaints about you and your flirting nature,” she sighed, reversing her child’s magic, “If I get one more complaint about you or hear that you have put hands on around female student, I will expel you, understand?”
Hughard nodded rapidly before running off.
“Alexandria, you are grounded,” Calvin sighed.
“Daddy!” They groaned, “Mom!”
Indigo nodded in agreement with her husband.
“You don’t solve your problems with violence, we raised you better than that!” Calvin added.
“But—”
“One week!” Calvin stated, “No magic lessons, no observing me in the forge of Elias’ dressmaking, no watching Nemo and Rowan training, and none of Sloan’s weekend seminars, do you understand me?”
“Dadd—”
“Do you understand me!”
Alexandria and Calvin stared at one another for a moment, before they huffed out a small “fine.”
Calvin nodded, “Alright then, let’s go home,” he replied with a smile before Aurora, Florian, and Finnegan followed him.
Indigo wrapped an arm around her child’s waist as they both followed behind everyone, her heels giving her enough height to rest her cheek against the top of Alexandria’s head, “Good job Trickster,” Indigo muttered.
Calvin chuckled into the phone, “I see you are still not out of bed.”
Indigo groaned, he could only picture how she looked, lying on her stomach in their bed pushing her hair out of her face, “Why are you calling me?” she mumbled unhappy that she was woken up.
“I called to ask you a favor,” he replied.
“What?”
“Can you bring me some coffee?”
“Why, you have coffee there?”
Calvin chuckled staring at the coffee cup half full on his desk, “I believe I’ve been poisoned.”
“Excusez-moi?! You were poisoned!”
“No need to worry, angel eyes,” he replied, “Whenever you get the chance, I would love some coffee that isn’t poisoned.”
“Well, thank you for telling me someone tried to poison you,” Indigo sighed, “I love you.”
“I love you too, angel.”
Okay, he wasn’t actually poisoned! He was slipped a little love potion which did not work for whatever reason, but the Healer doesn’t know that all he knows is that his coffee tastes different. He assumed that it was poison, not a love potion that one of his new and young healers slipped him as if it would work… the man was only obsessed with his wife being affected by a tiny love potion… that’s laughable.
“Darling,” Indigo muttered entering his office cup of coffee in hand.
“Thank you,” he sighed glancing up at her and then back at the work in front of him.
“Are you sure someone tried to poison you?” she asked, after rounding his desk and playing with the hair that kept falling in his face.
“I think it was a potion of some sort,” Calvin answered, “I think one of the new healers I hired has a crush on me and randomly they made my coffee this morning.”
Indigo hummed, “I’m gonna go back home,” she muttered.
“Alright, Angel, I’m sorry it made come all the way here on a Saturday,” he replied swiveling his chair to look at her, “I’ll make it up to you.”
“Just don’t fall in love with anyone,” she joked.
“I love no one other than you, Indigo, nothing is going to change that.” He retorted, before sharing a kiss with her and watching her leave.
“Mhm, get me some passion fruit on your way home and that’s how you can make it up to me.” Indigo remarked at his office.
“Okay, Angel, I love you.” He sighed with a smile.
Alright, I’m here because this motherfucker decided to do a little TikTok video with the sound “A boy would be the son of France, but you Marie-Therese shall be mine” with Finnegan and Aurora with the context being that it is Amethea is saying it to Aurora because they have similar conditions, so guess what sluts, I am writing a little thing after Their Northern Lights after Aurora is out of her coma and in recovery because I think about this whole family way to much!

The sound of Waltz No.2 on the violin rang throughout the large cottage strings being played in Indigo’s library near one of the windows, played by the eldest of Indigo’s children, named after the northern lights and the dawn, with her hair of candy apple red and caramel skin. Sweet Aurora Marguerite Bookstone-Corals, now playing her violin with purple hands.
“Shostakovich.” Amethea remarked softly from the entrance of the library, making her granddaughter turn around after she finished playing, “Hi, mon cœur.”
“Granny?!” Aurora retorted, setting her violin down in the window seat.
“You sound surprised,” she chuckled, walking towards her.
“If you came to see how I am doing, I am doing just fine, I’m just staying inside like I was advised to do.”
Amethea frowned, “It’s fine I've never been a big fan of being outside anyway.” Aurora said with a shrug.
“Yet, you like the beach,” Amethea replied, “and gardening, flowers, and herbs.”
Aurora shrugged again, “But that’s not why I am here.” Amethea remarked, “I came to give you these,” She pulled a pair of cute gloves out of her dress pocket, “Your father told me you’ve been staring at these hands a little too long, so I wanted to give you these.”
“Granny, I—”
“You don’t have to wear them,” Amethea added placing the gloves in her hands, “It not difficult to have hands like this, but it make you feel out of place, even if you don’t wear the gloves, you have them if you ever what them.”
“Thank you,” Aurora muttered tears building up in her eyes.
“Mon cœur?”
“I’m a horrible person!”
“Aurora!”
“I knew about everything! I knew what Alex and Finn were doing, and didn’t tell mère or père, I didn’t stop them either! I made mère and père fight—”
“Sweet girl, they weren’t fighting—”
“Alex said they didn’t talk to each other for almost 2 months! They always have something to talk about! mère and père rarely ever fight, let alone stop talking to each other and I caused that! Finn’s been training like crazy, and not just so he can be the best mage like he always says, he’s training because he feels like he has to protect me and Alex! I’m the oldest! I’m supposed to be the one to protect him! I’m also supposed to be the good one! The one that follows every rule, that listens to my parents, that tells on my siblings when they are doing something wrong! I am—”
“You more like your mother than you realize, you know that?” Amethea remarked with a hum picking Aurora's violin before sitting in the window seat, “Come here,” she remarked, patting the place next to her, ordering her granddaughter to sit.
Aurora rested her head on Amethea's shoulder, “You choose to suppress the hard and heavy emotions, and then when it becomes too much it feels like you explode,” Amethea explained her hands grazing the violin now in her lap, “That’s one of the many reasons your parents an excellent match. Your father loves to listen and observe, especially to your mother, I’ve never seen anyone, let alone a man, be so love-sick over one person,” the older woman chuckled to herself, “and that will never change. Just as he loves her, he loves you and your siblings just as much if not more! When it comes to 3 being harmed, for better or for worse your father forgets reason and stops listening, and your mother continues to suppress. So, when you were in your coma and Calvin decided to continue to work to keep an eye on you, your mother took that as a sign that he was angry with her because she did nothing upon seeing you hurt.”
“Père has never been angry with mère,” Aurora muttered.
Amethea chuckled, “They worry about you and this most recent event has only made it worse.” the older woman remarked, “Which is not your fault, you did what is right.”
“I still feel horrible,” Aurora sighed, “I’m the oldest—”
“You being the oldest has no bearing on how you should choose to live your life.” Amethea remarked, “Your brother is becoming more and more like your mother everyone every day, I swear. Are you the one who made him the protector?”
“No, but—”
“Then him choosing to be the protector over the three has nothing to do with you!”
Aurora sighed, “Everything just feels weird.”
“Being in a coma for 5 months will do that, mon cœur.” Amethea hummed.
