{ Every so often, a moment comes along where the Time Lord is faced with a decision. It's not as simple as a decision as you may think, as it deals with death and endings. As a rule, the Doctor claims he doesn't do endings. They hurt too much. They add to the never ending reminders of the mortality of humans, reminding him that all good things end sooner or later. }

{ Yet, despite his rule, of not doing endings, more often than not, since the Ponds, he had chosen to give them more of a chance. Watching for those who would get joy out of what he had to show them, able to give them a chance at experiencing something they'd never imagined possible before they departed. }

{ Here he was, faced with the knowledge that this girl was sick, the odds of making it through questionable. It's not like he doesn't know that there are hundreds of thousands of people dealing with this on a daily basis, but there's something about this girl that pulls his focus. She gives off an air of curiosity that reminds him of so many people that he once traveled with. }

{ Maybe that's why he has the overwhelming desire to invite her along. Traveling in the TARDIS wouldn't save her life, but it'd prolong it. He could show this woman, with the wonder in her eyes, parts of the Universe she'd never imagine, and show her the time of her life. }

{ The Time Lord doesn't know what makes him do it, but he quickly writes out a note in fine handwriting. }

The Universe awaits you.

{ On the back of the note, he leaves coordinates for a nearby area in which his TARDIS has been parked. Tucking it into a TARDIS blue envelope, he addresses it to Cosima Niehaus before he slips it beneath the frame of the door. }

{ Should her curiosity allow her to decide to investigate further, he'd be waiting with his TARDIS, ready to show her the worlds beyond. }

“You have no idea how much I wanted an ice cream. It’s been years since I ate one.”

Katherine laughed when they sat on the bench outside of the ice cream shop, raising her hands with excitement.

PLAT!

The redhead felt suddenly alarmed after hearing the noise, but when her head turned to Cosima, she noticed how her own ice cream was all over the older girl’s nose, and she couldn’t help but grin at the image. How could someone look so adorable even when her face was a complete mess? She didn’t understand it.

“Let me.” She said, taking a step closer to the dreadlock girl, closing her eyes briefly before giving her a quick peck on the nose, savouring the ice cream in her lips. “I love chocolate.”

Delphine would like to think, and to tell people in the know that she had forgotten all about Cosima and the short time they had together. It hadn't been a very nice breakup, and she had gone ahead with the move to Frankfurt. Though it wasn't long before she moved back to France, to get back in touch with her roots, to remind herself why she got into science in the first place.

That was why she was here, at what used to be the headquarters of the DYAD group. As if trying to figure out where it went wrong. It was quieter nowadays, and her passcard still worked. So she decided to take a look through some of the files, mostly for old time's sake.

She came across the files of the clones, and scoffed. This. This was where it all went wrong for her. Though it still didn't stop memories building up in her brain just looking through the records. Part of her wanted to skip ahead, to find out what happened after she had left for Europe. To see if Cosima had...

No, she wasn't going to think like that. It was in the past. Besides, whether she was still alive or not, she would likely never run into Cosima again, right?
