i kinda don't think about him most of the time tbh! he's okay, not my fave but i used to hate him and i don't anymore bc...meh?

i used to think he was just a dumbass but on my last rewatch of tdpi i actually thought he was quite useful to his team. he did need scarlett always to like, patch up his ideas into something workable, but he actually had good ideas wrt sabotage and somehow is smart enough to build an animal mind control device but not smart enough to plug it in 😭 which i appreciated tbh bc total idiot total drama dudes is a little tired

he's also a little easier to appreciate when you think of him as a parody of mal, which is funny because tdas and tdpi were produced at the same time. but my friend pointed out that max feels like a satirization of mal, and that is fun.
