as opposed to helpful but slightly overworked handycookie, my version of OB Y/N is far more morally dubious. Introduced formally during the Legend of the Spirit Weapons but they have many, many cameos/appearances in past updates. Are they an ally? A foe? Who knows. But Longan Dragon Cookie is getting fed up…
Yandere Beasts Vs Dragon Cookies: Lychee Dragon Cookie Vs Shadow Milk Cookie
Kinda inspired by @leggerefiore's Beasts vs Ancients vs Dragons posts with the dragons imprinting/recognizing Y/n as their deceased mate. Not exactly the same as their posts but their content is also good! Reader is female cuz it's easier for me to write a female reader.
EDIT: I decided to post them separately so people can find it easier as well as fix some grammer mistakes.
BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING!!! I DID look it up to be sure and yes Lychee Dragon Cookie IS confirmed to be an adult. Just like Pavlova Cookie or Cream Ferret Cookie who's confirmed to be an adult, they're just shorter than the average cookie! Don't make accusations please. First time writing Lychee Dragon too so they might be ooc. Why is Y/n alive for so long? Writer's magic that's why.
If anyone can guess all the play parodies I used lemme know.
Warnings for yandere/obsessive behaviors, entrapment, kidnapping, mentioned death, etc.

-The fall of her alleged 'former lover' had left a lasting impression on everyone that day. Not just him but the other four beasts too, which was why with her being so closely associated with one they'd of course turn on her too. No one understood what you went through. The trauma of knowing the once gentle man was the cause of so much misery and even death. The twisted way he'd look at her now. Not as an equal but a possession. A little doll he could put on a shelf and gaze at for display, play dress up, and make to play a part in some fantasy. A permanent play he had with him holding the reigns and her to be his unwilling star of the Twisted show. If she didn't....well she'd rather not think about the consequences. Being locked up for days on end, knowing he hurt other cookies if she didn't cooperate with what he wanted, or worst of all he'd use those blasted strings of his and make her do what he wanted. Refused to dance with him? Strings. Tried to escape? Strings. She didn't want to sit down and watch the play he wrote be acted out by unwilling cookies hypnotized in strings? More strings! She'd lost all hope of ever being able to be free until the Witches finally answered the prayers of hundreds of cookies and sent the divine forks and chains to punish the five. She had been spared, freed. Free to stand in the crowd and watch as the forks took route engaging the cookies and growing into the Silver Tree. As it grew, blue eyes bore into hers. The sounds of Shadow Milk's body slamming into the bars of his prison echoed loudly for everyone to hear. Arms restricted by glowing cuffs and chains R E A C H E D out of the bars as if they could reach the rapidly disappearing figure of hers. The air filtered the sounds of an long dying cry of a fallen deity ravaging it's sorrow of losing everything into rage, an unholy animalistic cry even in comprehendible to even Shadow Milk's own mind, deranged with the burning red rage and tunnel vision fighting for the touch of her flesh. It sent a cold chill in her veins and even Burning Spice in all of his own rage had stopped to stare wide eyed at the true beast his comrade had become as they were fully sealed away. However she wasn't spared yet as a mob had seized you upon his sealing and carried her to be judged before the High Fairy King.
-The man was unlike anything she'd ever seen with wings like stain glass and silver hair both seeming to catch the light. Silvery eyes stared down at her trembling form thrown literally at the ground before him, surrounded by an angry mob scared out of her dough. "...Why did you bring this woman to me?" "My Lord, she's affiliated with the Beasts!" He seemed surprised raising a brow skeptically to her. "What has she done?" "She was Shadow Milk Cookie's lover!" His expression became sterner. "I can see that. WHAT has SHE done? Tell me what terrible crime she's committed to warrant punishment!" He gave a disgusted look at the crowd as no one says anything. "Disgraceful. All of you. Taking your anger out on the first cookie you can to lay blame and hurt to make yourselves feel better!" "But, Sire. She must've been conspiring with him-" "Then let me see proof of these allegations or bring eye witnesses who may testify to that!" A hand pointed to her obviously trembling form. "The witches had allowed her to walk free, otherwise she would've been sealed away with her lover. Does that not count for something?" The silence was deafening. "Shameful all of you. Hurting her won't fix anything, it'll only make the situation worse. Now begone. All of you!" She freezes as he kneels down giving her a pitiful look. "Are you alright, Miss?" She nodded. "I'm very sorry for that. Here." He offered her a hand. "Allow me to help you." She hesitated but allowed him to help her to her feet. "I think you'd better come with me. It's not safe for you outside right now and I have some questions of my own for you. I hope you don't mind answering them." Elder Fairy Cookie was kind to her. Everything the Ex Fount of Knowledge was to her in the beginning which put her on edge for the longest time expecting the kind fairy to suddenly turn on her like he did, but he never did. He never pushed her allowing you to tell him things once you were ready, never down played what she went through, never forced anything really as he calmly asked questions and listened to her stuttering/crying through it. "I'm very sorry for everything you had to endure..but you're not alone now. If you need help or an ear to listen you can ask anything of me."
-All she wanted was to just forget what happened. It didn't start out like this. Not at all. She was one of the few cookies working for Blueberry Yogurt Cookie the Fount of Knowledge and his ever growing spread of knowledge. After all with so much information to convert into books and with the new school being constructed, he was going to need some help. So there he was just walking by the scholars, tons of them working on writing his own notes and large pamphlets and converting them into physical books, running back and forth with ink or paper, or delivering hardback book covers for the newly printed pages. She had decided to take up the job offer, as an actress down on her luck she didn't exactly have many other choices. The job paid decently and all she had to do was take the paper delivered by a manufacturer to the scholars paid to write down the information the fount directed into book form, deliver hardback book covers, carry books out to go be delivered across Beast Yeast, basically just your standard labor job. It wasn't what she wanted to do but it paid well. That's how she spent her days, just minding her own business working, getting paid, and trying to get her footing in the acting business. Until one day she bumps into the Fount nearly toppling over the large pile of papers in her arms all about the Earthbread's native plants. "Careful there! You ..nearly.." Everything else does on his tongue once he sees her beautiful face smile up at him. "My apologies, Fount. Excuse me, I have to deliver this to the second floor." He stared awestruck at her, eyes wide and jaw dropped. He's immediately smitten by her and tries to learn everything about you. How long she was here, her family, what her hobbies were- He's the Fount of Knowledge. Learning information about anything and everything was easy for him. So imagine his surprise when one day he was just casually passing the garden and he heard a familiar voice.
-"Oh, Romedough! Romedough! Where fore art thou, Romedough?" Curious, he decides to take a peep from behind some shrubs to find out who it was and found the lady he's been (stalking) gathering up the courage to ask out standing there dramatically holding an arm up to the sky. "But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the west, and Jubileet is the stars!" She paused scrunching up her brows in thought. "Wait....That can't be right." "You're right. It's not." She jumped whirling around and found the FOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE HIMSELF standing there smiling at her!! CRAP!! She was going to be in big trouble for slacking off and get fired! "FOUNT!! Um...W-What a nice surprise! Um. I-I was just taking my lunch break an hour early and spent it in the garden s-since it's such a nice day outside! Don't you agree?" Instead of getting angry the man giggles. "I'm unfortunately not easy to fool. Im a lot smarter than I look." Her heart dropped but he still wasn't mad. "And you did get it wrong by the way. It actually goes like this-" He suddenly struck a perfect pose, hand on his chest while his other arm extended to the sky. "Hark! Oh but what soft! What Light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Jubileet is the sun!" "Wow. I had no idea you read play scripts." He smiled very proudly. "My dear cookie. I didn't read it. I WROTE it." She had to pause and allow the information to sink in before pointing. "You wrote Romedough and Jubileet!? That's only the most famous play ever!" He chuckled before holding a hand to his mouth. "Shh. Don't let it get out. Originally I just wrote it for fun but then somehow it accidentally got mixed up in some fairytale books. Some theater director happened to come across it and-..Well the rest is history as I say. Just don't tell anyone. I don't think I can handle the extra burden of others asking plays out of me." "Oh! Don't worry. You can trust me. I had no idea you could write so beautifully!" At this he chuckled again feeling his face blush a brighter blue. "Well, I AM the Fount of Knowledge. Of course I'm able to write such things. I'm able to be a playwright, poet, director, actor- Just about anything as long as I have the knowledge to be." His head tilted. "Do you like plays?" Of course he already knew she did. Months of (spying and stalking) research had told him so, but she still nodded. "Yes! It may sound silly but I love acting and performing. I can do all kinds of tricks since I've practiced since childhood! I actually come from a long line of magicians and performers..." She sadly looked to the side. "Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family who didn't inherit any magic or gifted any talent. I had to train by body and voice very hard to be able to do anything at least as half as good as the rest of my family does." He frowned a little bit humming in thought. Of course he knew all about her family. Her father a famous now retired magician, her mother's side of the family coming from a long line of famous circus performers, that circus of which is still operating today just as popular. He had no idea about her struggles until now however. "I am very sorry, but we all bloom at our own pace. You were very good reciting those lines before with only two mistakes!" "T-Thank you. There's going to be auditions for a showing soon, so I was practicing." "You want to be Jubileet?" She nodded. "If I can, if not then a background character would be fine too! If I can get even a minor role in such a famous play then it'll help my career! I'm not picky at this point."
-"How about I help you practice?" The offer took her immediately back. "You help me?" "Well, I am the one who wrote it. Who better to help you than the one who created the very play you wish to be casted in?" She was immediately hesitant. "I don't know. I already memorized it all. Sometimes I just mix up the words." "You memorized the entire book?" She nodded. "I inherited photographic memory from my grandmother. It helped he learn how to perform hard tricks, and I don't want to be a burden to you, Sir." She memorized the entire book!? And she liked how it was!? His heart melted bigger. "Nonsense. It'll be my pleasure. It'll be much more better practice if you have someone else playing the other parts around Jubileet wouldn't it? And it's my job to help cookies learn!" Long story short the two began to meet up secretly. Sometimes after her work, sometimes she'd come on her days off and the Fount would take her into his office or somewhere secluded where she acted out various different parts, sometimes switching between them so fast it was like there was more than one Fount. It was still to this day, admittedly very impressive and he seemed to genuinely be having fun whenever they went over scenes over and over with him helping her memorize certain lines with flash cards and giving her notes to take home and study much like the homework he'd assign his students. By the time the auditions rolled around and she went, she had memorized every time of every character in the play scene by scene, and she ended up getting the part. "THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" She hugged him next time she saw him not seeing the expression he wore, only that he tightly hugged her back. "It was my pleasure, Dear. Be assured I'll be there to see you perform." Actually that start was probably the start of the massive red flags she would get. The play was a hit and at the end of it the Fount himself ends up congratulating her with a massive bouquet of blue roses catching everyone's attention. "You deserve it after all the hard work you put into it. You should be very proud of yourself." "Thank you. I couldn't have done it without your help." "Oh. I know." That was a weird thing to say but she didn't pay too much attention to it in the moment basking in the glory of something she worked so hard to achieve! Her family would be so proud of her once they read her letter.
-However things started to become weird after that. She decided to keep working at Blueberry Academy in the meantime as she tried to get herself into her desired career now that she got her foot in the door, but things were starting to feel...off. Suspiciously she finds herself working closely to his office and he seems to (conveniently) pop up wherever she is after a while although at the time she didn't think anything of it. It was a huge place and the Fount was constantly running about doing his duties. However as time goes by things start to subtly shift within the world. Burning Spice Cookie is the first one to be corrupted spreading chaos and destruction to a third of the continent. Many fled in refuge from his lands seeking shelter in the protection of the other Pillars. It brings shock to him who seemed very shocked but not overly worried. "Keeping calm in any situation is vital. We mustn't let fear consume us." That's the first time you feel something shift. She suddenly find herself checked on lots more by him and being assigned to his side much more frequently. Too frequent to be a coincidence anymore. When she brings it up to him he looks extremely guilty. "Im sorry. I'm just worried about you is all. Are you angry with me?" This is the first time he's dipping into gaslighting but he himself doesn't realize it yet, only thinking he's being cautious. More and more cruelty struck the land. Mystic Flour Cookie was the second that fell followed by Silent Salt Cookie which meant more cookies flowed to the Fount and Eternal Sugar's territories for refuge and protection. She could see the strain suddenly forced upon him. The sleepless nights answering the countless questions cookies kept throwing at him. DEMANDING to know what was happening and why! Demanding he do something to stop the former pillars' rampage. She was there next to him as he dug through book after book continuously seeking answers to why this was happening. Constantly sending messangers to Eternal Sugar to converse and make sure she wasn't going down that path. Trying so hard to provide for the hundreds of understandably angry and frightened cookies he wasn't prepared for. Spent so many nights alone as he was suddenly so busy. But always making sure she was close by at all times with excuses that guilted her into staying. Her own sleep schedule was a wreck and she was barely able to get work done and her own dreams of being able to perform were slipping away with trying to help him constantly. His solution to her pleas was to reassign all your work and order you constant bed rest. Now the one thing distracting her from your misery was gone. Leaving her aimlessly wallowing and wondering looking like she were miserable and she was without the help.
-"You said you were going to take the day off." She stared at him tired from trying to manage a crowd of cookies asking her too many invasive questions she didn't even know how to answer. "Im sorry, Cupcake. I really am. But Im having a problem with resources getting scarce and I need to make sure my cookies don't starve." "Are you free? I think I need-" "Whatever it is, have Black Sapphire Cookie assist you. I need to reevaluate these blue prints." She started avoiding him from that moment on. It wasn't hard. He was always so busy with work and she was already trying to push through this. Until she couldn't take it anymore. The final straw was when he finally bothered to show up. Eternal Sugar had finally succumbed to the corruption and he wanted to inform her. That meant the cookies coming to him would increase. The stress would only be worse than it was. "What are you going to do about it?" His stare was..oddly calm and devoid of something but he inhaled. "I don't know, but I want to try and sort out the worst parts of it before our wedding." She just blinked staring at him. "Our..what?" "Our wedding of course! We've been together for so long, it's only natural we take our relationship to the next level." Her?! Married to the Fount of Knowledge!? Since when were they in a relationship!? They never even kissed or held hands- THEY DIDN'T EVEN GO ON A SINGLE DATE!! HOW WERE THEY MAGICALLY IN A COMITTED RELATIONSHIP!! She didn't even like him like that! Most people assumed they were in a relationship to which she corrected them every time she was only a personal assistant but if he thought they were together- No! She didn't want to be married to him! She was already stressed enough as it was with just being his PLATONIC and PAID assistant! There's no way on Earthbread she could handle marrying him! Until one night all was silent within the estate. She just went to his office one day as usually bringing with her a stack of reports with her official resignation letter at the top ready to explain to him that they weren't in a relationship and she was quitting and that this was her two weeks notice...but he was no where to be found.
-In fact no one had seen Blueberry Yogurt Cookie in a week not that you minded. She was busy readying to leave secretly packing a hidden bag under your bed and secretly planning out her escape route back to her family's circus, at least there she can perform for the family business. She only stayed to sort out a few last things before leaving and working her last two weeks so no one would yell at her about it. Constantly she was being pestered by cookies asking or demanding to know where Blueberry Yogurt Cookie was. Each time she'd only looked at them tired of dealing with this anymore. "Do I look like I know where he is?! If I knew I'd tell him to come deal with you himself!" She only had one more day of work anyways. However that night was oddly ..silent. Not the peaceful silence but a weird creepy silence that was like in those horror novels she read just before the monster caught it's victims. It made her hair stand on end. Odd. Usually cookies would be coming to badger you or searching for Blueberry Yogurt Cookie. So where was everyone?? You picked up your pace passing by the office on your way b- "It's beautiful tonight." She paused freezing at the familiar voice before ever so slowly turning her head. A familiar figure stood there in the middle of the room with his back to her, a random book in his hands. "Blueberry Yogurt Cookie?" She turned to him feeling uneasy. "Where have you been? No one's seen you in nearly two weeks. Black Sapphire Cookie and I've been bombarded with cookies looking for you." He didn't turn to her making her shift in place. Now that her eyes adjusted to the dark, you could make out the- What...was he wearing? His usual robes and hat were gone, replace with some kind of suit with puffy sleeves and a large white collar. He still remained silent playing with the book. ".....Blueberry?" "You wouldn't leave me right?" The question pinned her to the spot, and in an instant she knew...You both knew. The silence stretched on further until she exhaled, dread piling in her stomach. "I-...I don't want to marry you." His body flinched. Tensing up and his hands twitching around the book. "We were never in a relationship and it was never going to work out. Too many things are happening and we don't have any time for each other. I know I should've told you when you first mentioned it-" She stops when he laughs. A deep chuckle that sends ice in her veins and shivers down her spine. He finally turns around and her mouth drops in a silent scream. Eyes. So many eyes blinked at her from the darkness. "Oh, darling. Is that what's the matter?" His head twists at an angle that should be impossible as he's suddenly standing before her, dark and menacing aura heavy. Like a fog moving over the entire space. "Aw. You should've said so sooner, Dumpling.~ I would've gladly made time for my wittle wife. Well no..I already did really. Hehehe! Didn't take me too long." "Too long? What have you done?!" "Sshhh." Arms slunk around her form pulling her against a body as cold as ice as her eyes widened. "You don't have to worry about anything anymore, little poppet.~ After all the world's a stage and the most entertaining scenes are yet to be written.~"
-She still had nightmares about the entire situation. Worst of all everyone but the Fae King who spared her seemed to point fingers and SWORE she had something to do with it no matter how many times she tried to explain to them that she was innocent and that she was NOT in ANY kind of romantic relationship AT ALL with the Ex Fount of Knowledge. But no one believed her that she was just his personal assistant. Her life quickly became a downwards spiral. Everyone hated her, no one wanted anything to do with her, her dream shattered into multiple little pieces, and even her own family disowned her not wanting the association with her new terrible reputation. She lost everything. "All I wanted to do was perform on stage and earn a little money." She confessed to the King whom listened to her. "Now everyone hates me, no one wants everything to do with me, and it's all that stupid's virtue's fault!" "That's not true. I don't hate you." "Then you're the only one who does." "Perhaps what you need is a fresh start." She looked up at him as he nodded. "I've heard that many a cookie is seeking refuge from Beast Yeast and heading for another continent. Perhaps that would be a worthy avenue to explore?" She perked up. A new life. A new start away from all of this...That honestly didn't sound like a bad idea. A place where no one knew her so no one could judge her...It's not like she had anything left to lose and that might be her only option at this point. She nodded. "Yes. I think that may be for the best." "Are you sure?" She nodded. "Then if you'd like, I can have my most trusted fairy escort you to the nearest ship leaving the continent." "That's very kind of you. Thank you." "It's the least I could do for your troubles." She agreed and packed a single large bag full of essentials and personal valuable items, put a hood over her head, and allowed her to be escorted out of the fae kingdom and towards the nearest coast in Beast Yeast, but not before profusely thanking Elder Faerie Cookie for all the help he gave her. "If there's any way I can repay you, please don't hesitate to tell me." "There's no need to thank me. If you wish to repay me, then simply go live your life. I wish you nothing but the best wherever your travels take you, Miss Y/n." Y/n traveled along with a small fairy cookie with green apples bobbing from her head called 'Apple Faerie Cookie' until they were halfway towards the nearest dock and she was pointed out the right way. "You just have to continue down this path AAAALLLL the way and you'll come to the ocean! There should be docks there.~" She giggled in delight making her raise a brow confused. "Oh. Alright then. Thank you very much for all the help you've given me." The small fairy only waved at her. "Don't thank me. Im only doing what's best for you.~" Again her wording was weird..REALLY weird, but she didn't have time to say anything before Apple Faerie Cookie turned and quickly starting fluttering back the way they traveled giggling like a maniac the entire time. It'd take her a few days just to get back to the Fae Kingdom. She stood there until she could no longer see or hear Apple Faerie Cookie anymore before turning towards the path that she pointed out and started walking that way. A shiver ran down her spine. That cookie was using some kind of magic on herself but she couldn't put her finger on it. Oh well..It was the complete opposite direction of the way they had been walking but she trusted her since Elder Faerie Cookie did. Along the way she came across a few cookies traveling in a small group of six or seven. Most were traveling on foot with raggy poor clothes and bags over their shoulders, one was leading a horse with a VERY squeaky wagon sounding like it would fall apart any moment. She was sure to keep the hood over her head before talking. "Hello there. Where are you all heading?"
-"The east ocean." One answered her before violent coughing. "They say there's a ferry that's heading towards a newer land." She paused confused. "But isn't this the way towards the docks?" "There's nothing but destruction behind us. You're crazy if you're heading for Milkyway Lake." That got her to freeze. Milkyway Lake?! That was near Ghost City where Bluberry Yogurt Academy was. Where SHE had first come from!! Why would Apple Faerie Cookie send her back towards there? Did she get her directions mixed up? Well whatever the case, she was definitely NOT heading back there. "Oh. I see. Thank you for correcting me...May I travel with you all?" "Sure. Why not? Safety in numbers. Just don't expect any of us to share food or water with you. Everyone has to fend for themselves." "Ok." She just quietly kept her head down and kept to herself following the group the right way back where she started from and then onto the right path. The group traveled for many days until the forest became scarce and was replaced with long sandy beaches, ocean, and HUNDREDS of other cookies each pushing and shoving each other crowding towards the docks where multiple large boats were getting ready to load and set sail. She used her long practiced disappearing act to weave unnoticed through the crowds and put herself in the front unknowingly. She was lucky to be accepted onto a boat (AFTER paying a fee) before the captain deemed it too crowded and set sail for lands unknown. The entire time she kept her head down and kept to herself trying to drawl as least attention to her as possible. It was easy when everyone was busy wallowing in their own misery. The new world was a strange place and she had no idea what to do once she got here but one thing was for certain, Elder Faerie Cookie had been right. A place where cookies didn't know her would be a much better place to be than one where she was extremely hated. Time passed. She learned to hide herself and just traveled aimlessly around for years and years, keeping a low profile in case things went bad if someone recognized her however her life was starting to look up. She managed to make money by singing and dancing or performing tricks and passerbys would drop money into whatever hat or can she put out. Sometimes she got a real gig here and there but they never lasted long. A performer for a festival. Singing in a pub for a little while. Performing for a kid's birthday party- Nothing permanent, nothing really fulfilling. Until she happened to be working one day at another dead end job. A small fesitval near a coastal town was taking place. Celebrating the anniversary of the city's founding or something?? Anyways a paycheck was a paycheck even if she was forced to wear tacky glittery make up, a ridiculous outfit, and juggle while balancing on a ball for others' entertainment....Mostly kids, but hey. Like said before a paycheck was a paycheck, and she wasn't doing this forever. That was until a small cookie walked up to her as she was doing a handstand on the giant ball. It looked both amused and bored at the same time which was a rare expression before they just crossed their arms. "The acts here are so cheap. It's the same everywhere." That made her pause upside down before raising a brow and causally balancing on the ball with one hand. "Well that's pretty rude, isn't it? You shouldn't put others down for their hard work even if you don't like it." The cookie rolled their eyes and waved her off. "Oh please. I can do anything you can do but a thousand times better." Her brow rose further as the cookie opened one eye at her. "Hmm...Well, maybe that's true but it's still pretty rude, Stranger. You wouldn't like me saying your act sucks would you?" The cookie's smile disappeared looking genuinely shocked for a good moment before frowning harder. "You shouldn't be saying that to me." "Why not?" She slowly put her feet down on the ball, did a back flip, and landing on one hand still perfectly balancing on the ball as a few onlookers clapped. "It's the truth. Don't be rude to others for no reason."
-The cookie smirked before reaching out and patting her on the head. "Oh, but don't you agree that IM the best!? Don't you just love me!?" "Um...Not really?" The cookie went completely blank, mouth comically open in a frozen smile. ".....WHAT!?" "You don't have to yell. Im right in front of you. And I don't really know you so I can love you or say anything about you except you're being a little rude-" "How are you not under my-?!" They stopped slamming their mouth shut before they could say anything else. "Oh. You mean the charming magic you were using?" Again the cookie went rigid. "I sensed it the moment you walked up to me. Im used to that kind of magic so low level spells don't really work on me too well. That's a good disguise by the way. You do illusion magic too?" The cookie sputtered opening and closing their mouth multiple times before slamming it shut and looking around quickly as if someone else over heard them. Then without saying anything they turned and dashed away quickly disappearing into the crowds. She rose a brow but shrugged it off, planted her feet back onto the ball, before reaching for a jump rope and started doing jump rope tricks while bouncing on the ball for the crowd. She assumed the stranger smaller cookie was just another entertainer for the crowds and she might've broken the illusion of her act. Maybe they was supposed to make jokes about someone?? Eh. It was her fault for being rude to her, anyways it's not like she'll see them again. That was entirely wrong actually, as it seemed the tiny cookie wasn't done with her. Two days later she was performing again, this time sword swallowing and fire eating, before the night shift came to an end and she headed back to the city's inn she was currently staying at exhausted. Her mouth and throat was sore from performing those dangerous acts all night and all she wanted to do was sleep. Tomorrow would be the last night the festival was open so she only had one more night to work before packing up and finding work somewhere else- That was before she was yanked by her arm into a dark alley. She yelped and stumbled before leaning against a brick wall, shaking her head and looking at the culprit who....Was the small cookie?? They looked at her with rage in their eyes. "Alright! What in the world ARE you?!" They demanded pointing a hand at her. She blinked. "....Huh?" "Why doesn't it work!? You should've been under my spell from the beginning!" They demanded further with a snarl that DEFINITELY no normal cookie could make. She held up her hands. "Whoa. Hey. If I ruined your trick I'm sorry. I genuinely didn't know you were trying to pull a prank." "That doesn't matter!! Answer me!" They demanded stomping a foot. "How did you do it!? Are you a mage!? Wizard cookie!? Magic caster?! Do you have some kind of talisman or protection spell over you!? No one's ever been able to resist me!.....Expect for one cookie but she's different!" "Um....None of those actually." "THEN HOW DID YOU DO IT!? I DEMAND TO KNOW!! AND YOU AREN'T LEAVING THIS ALLEY UNTIL YOU TELL ME!!" "Alright, alright! Just please stop yelling." She rubbed the sides of her head. Wow this cookie had a pair of lungs on them. "It doesn't affect me because I grew up surrounded by that kind of magic." The little cookie just stared at her blankly before slowly blinking. "What!?" "Both sides of my family comes from a long line of performers and magicians." She explained. "My father was a magician and both of my grandparents were too and my great grandparents- And my mom's side of the family was circus performers, fortune tellers, actors, and my fifth cousin three times removed was a jester for a famous king. A lot of them used illusion magic and teleportation and future seeing and things like that." She shrugged. "I guess when you come from a family who has that kind of magic running through their dough and grow up around it, you can gain an ability to sense it."
-"That doesn't tell me HOW you avoided getting charmed, just how you knew what it was!" Again she shrugged. "I was an assistant for my uncle's act growing up a LOT. He was a hypnotist. After a while I had to quit because his magic wouldn't work on me anymore...I guess being exposed to that kind of charming magic after a while I built up a tolerance?? Or maybe because that kind of magic runs through my dough that it doesn't have that big of an affect on me compared to other cookies??"...She shrugged for a third time. "I honestly have no idea. I just know unless it's a really POWERFUL spell, it won't work on me. Or if it does then it'll just wear off after a while. Sorry." The cookie only just stared at her blankly. Staring at her for a long time that she thought she might've broken their brain for a moment before they finally blinked and furrowed their eyebrows with a frown. "So, my charming magic won't affect you because you're used to it?" She nodded as the cookie rubbed their chin. "And you can sense that Im using an illusion because you're also..used to it?" She nodded again making the cookie run. "....Do you know who or what I am?" She shook her head no just wanting to go get some sleep. "I have literally no idea. For all I know you could be a sugar gnome under there." The cookie snorted looking back a little amused. "I don't know whether I should be insulted or amused by that." "I mean Im not trying to be rude. I legitimately don't know who or what you are." "Good! You don't deserve to know." She shrugged. "If you say so." She then turned to start walking away- "HEY! Where do you think you're going?!" "To sleep. I spent all night swallowing swords and breathing fire. Im tired, my throat is sore, and I still need to sleep for my last day of work tomorrow." "Hey! You can't just walk away from me! Who do you think you are!?" "Someone who has to work to earn a living, and I already apologized to you AND answered everything you wanted. What else do you want from me?" "Admit that I'm better than you!" "Alright. You can do illusion magic way better than someone who can't use magic." The smaller cookie huffed crossing their arms. "That's better! It's about time to acknowledge me as your superior." "If it makes you happy." The cookie blinked as she justed turned and walked away again. "Hey! I'm not done with you yet." "You can find me at the festival again tomorrow night. Im still working there until it ends." She just had to get some sleep before she collapsed from exhaustion.
-Whelp. The small cookie again showed up the next night as she was being the 'beautiful assistant' to a knife thrower. Striking poses against a wooden background as he blindfolded-ly threw knives at her barely missing her dough before they even had a chance to talk again. "What happened? You're being someone's lap-cakehound now?" She sighed. "It wasn't my idea. Apparently his assistant quit last minute and they needed someone 'pretty enough who can fit in the costume' to replace her." The smaller cookie grimaced. "Ouch." "Uh huh. Well, I can't complain too much. Work is work and I was trained to perform." "Why is someone like you even performing at this mediocre clown fest to begin with? It sounds like you could've performed a one cookie show yourself better than all these cheap clowns in fake rainbow wigs and making balloon animals just to appease screaming children." "Because I don't want to perform circus tricks." "Huh?" "You may not know this, but it's incredibly hard to get into show business." The smaller cookie lit up in realization. "You're an actress." She finally smiled. "Yes! I've always wanted to be an actress on stage and sing and dance and act for millions of cookies all over Earthbread! I even got to play Jubileet once in Romedough and Jubileet!"...She frowned with a sigh. "Unfortunately someone bad happened, and now I'm stuck street performing most of the time. Not that I'm complaining. At least Im still able to perform that way." Their brow rose. "You played Jubileet?" She nodded. "....Hm. Well I guess you're not bad of a performer. Still not as good as yours truly." "Well how about you show me?" They blinked. "Huh?" "Show me! I would love to see what you can do! I always love seeing new tricks!" "Psh! As if you're feeble cookie mind can comprehend my magnificence!" She leaned down making the smaller cookie blink. "Then prove it. I challenge you to a show off! The looser has to fork over all their winnings for the night." The small cookie didn't say anything but eventually smirked. "Heh. Are you challenging me?" "Are you too afraid you'd lose?" "Alright then. I accept.~ Just don't be surprised when you're beaten."
-She SEVERELY underestimated the abilities of this smaller cookie. She juggles, Small Cookie not only did it faster but did so upside down on her head with twenty balls AND using one arm. She tried fire breathing again- The smaller cookie just BREATHED FIRE RIGHT OUT OF HER MOUTH!! They didn't even need to use water or anything she did! She tried tossing darts at small targets. They not only managed to hit all targets, but somehow broke a dart clean in half WITH ANOTHER DART. The winner was already decided before they had already started. By the end of it all, she was heaving for air as the small cookie simply stood there not even sweating as the crowd of ongoingers clapped and cheered for the two making them giggle and wave. "That was amazing!" "The best act I've ever seen! Usually the festival is so boring." "Oh please.~ You're too kind- But you're right! I'm the best.~ Why wouldn't you praise me?~" She was still gasping for air trying not to fall over from exhaustion. "You weren't too bad. You were able to almost keep up with half of my pacing. Can't say it wasn't okishly fun." She smiled despite herself and huffed for breath still. "I've never-...Ha. M-Met a cookie who c-could- *gasp* p-perform l-like that b-before." Except for Shadow Milk Cookie but she would rather forget about him all together. "Well, I did tell you I was the best didn't I? Did you think I was bluffing when I said that?" "N-Not anymore." A shaking hand reached for a bag. The small cookie blinked when a bag of jingling coins was held up to them. "H-Here...My ni-nights pay. As promised." The small cookie looked at the bag then at her...before scoffing, turning up their nose, and shooing them away. "I have no need for your meesely pay. If I want anything, I have my own ways of getting it myself. Besides, putting you in your place is a good enough reward for me." She chuckled. "I guess beating my butt in front of a crowd of cookies would be a big win already." "You catch on fast. Not many cookies are like that." "What's your name?" The smaller cookie blinked staring at her. "What?" "Your name? Mine's Y/n. I might not see you again when I leave but I w-would like to know the name of the one for beat me." They crossed their arms raising a brow before huffing. "Hmph....That's something I don't give out so easily-Wait." Their head suddenly snaps up. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE LEAVING TOMORROW!?" She shrugged still trying to stop the burning in her lungs. "Maybe not. I still want to see if I can find some work. There's auditions for A Mid-Simmer Night's Dream. I'm going to go and see if I can get a part maybe as a background character. It's a popular play so it'll still look good on my resume." They slowly nodded. "I understand. Break a leg as they say in theater talk then." She smiled widely. "Thank you. I don't get compliments like that a lot." "Out of curiosity...Where are these auditions?" "At the local theater. Why?" "Oh no reason. Maybe I'll stop by and see if you're half as good as half you did today. Who knows? I might just end up becoming the very star of the show." "Oh. Well break a leg to you too then!" They frowned slightly as if not expecting her to not fight back before leaving. She didn't really think much of it at the time nor was she actually expecting the stranger there.
-Three days later she found herself in front of the theater in a long line of cookies in various costumes or plain clothes. Some were nervously looking at papers reading lines, a woman three cookies behind her kept repeating one line over and over again to herself, a man was VERY loudly singing a musical numbers in practice annoying everyone. Slowly the line pushed through as she just stood there waiting her turn going through the theater. She could hear them all clearly now after hours of standing in line. "Next. What's your name?" "Jelly Nutmeg Cookie!" "Alright, Mr. Jelly Nutmeg. What part are you auditioning for?" "Oreon! King of the Fairies!" "Please recite a few lines and act out a piece for us." She was planning on just auditioning as one of the background fairies or maybe a side character. Last time she went for a main character role she felt like Shadow Milk had something to do with her getting the part behind the scenes. "Thank you for your time, Mr. Nutmeg. We'll be in touch. NEXT!! ......And what's your name?" "You can call me Mangosteen Cookie.~ And I'm here for the role of Puckie.~ I think I'm perfect for the role..Don't you agree?" "Well first we have too....NO! There's no need. Of course you're perfect for the role. I love your acting already!" "HAHA!! I knew you'd agree with me.~ Why don't we let all the others come in first and see how things go. Oh. Except for one little thing.~" She was pretty nervous when the stage finally came into view and she was next up as she walked across the stage. "Next!...State your name." Ok! Deep breaths. She smiled. "Hello! I'm Y/n Cookie and Im here to audition as a background fairy!" "Can you recite a few lines as Melona?" She was confused. Melona was one of the four main cast members A Mid-Simmer Night's Eve revolved around, but she was auditioning as a background character not Melona. Maybe he just wanted to see how she performed as a character? "Alright. *ahem*" She struck a pose putting a hand to her forehead in fake sorrow. "Through Eathens I am as thought as fair as she. But what of that? Donutrius thinks not so. Things base and vile, holding no quantity. Love can transform to pose and dignity-" "That will be all." The cookie sitting in the cushioned chair stopped her waving a hand. "Please exit stage right and check the board outside on Monday for callbacks." She paused blinking. Well that was rude to interrupt her....something definitely felt off about this that made her dough crawl. But she smiled anyways. "Thank you for your time." It was always better to be nicer during these auditions in case. She didn't see the smaller cookie poke their head out from behind the amused at their trickery. "Hahahaha! Good. You know what to do right?~" "Give her Melona's role." "Very good. After all, you wouldn't want to make me sad would you?" "I KNEW IT!!" The smaller cookie squealed whirling around only to find her standing over her looking angry and annoyed. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" "I thought I felt your magic about." Her faced turned to the Director Cookie staring ahead with a glazed over stare...her hand waved in front of his face before clapping her hands together in front of him. Nothing. "What on Earthbread did you do to him?!" The small cookie scoffed crossing their arms. "He's not hurt! His brain is just taking a nap at the moment!" "Snap him out of it!" She glared down at the smaller cookie. "You have no right taking control of someone else! This is just wrong!" "I said he wasn't hurt and you got the part all thanks to me-" "IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!" Her loud volume made the smaller cookie lean back surprised. "DON'T YOU REALIZE HOW CREEPY AND WRONG IT IS TO TAKE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER SOMEONE!?" The smaller one stepped back until their back hit another seat as she got in their face. "It's one thing if it's a hypnosis act when someone consents to it, but this is plain disgusting and that makes you deplorable and if I want something I'll get it myself thank YOU very much! I don't stoop myself to deceitful tactics! Now free him this instant or so help me!!"
-The smaller cookie stood there stunned leaning against the theater seat under the burning eyes of the woman whom reminded them of Ananas's eyes when their island had been put in danger. After a moment they frowned. "Alright, alright. You didn't have to yell at me. I was only trying to do you a favor-" "A favor is picking up someone's groceries or helping them clean out the attic! Mind controlling someone and robbing them of their own free will is a crime!" She pointed at the man. "So do us both 'a favor' and undo what you did!" "Fine, fine." With an eye roll the smaller cookie pushed past her and walked in front of the man, then with just a tap to his forehead he instantly snapped out of what ever daze he was under. Snorted and jolting up dropping the pencil and clipboard he had been holding. "I'M AWAKE!! What happened!?" He declared looking around quickly. "Um....I just came by to audition!" Y/n smiled again shooting a GLARE at the smaller cookie who only rolled their eyes again. The man scratched his head before bending over to pick up the clipboard. "Funny. I usually don't fall asleep during auditions...Oh well. Get back on stage and rehearse a few lines for whatever part you're auditioning for then. I don't have all day. I may have to go home early and nap if Im starting to fall asleep at work." Y/n didn't say anything to the smaller cookie as she went back to the stage to redo her audition. Eventually the smaller cookie left too. "You know..When I mentioned that it might be a good idea for you to make friends with other cookies outside the island, helping them cheat their way into a play isn't exactly what I meant." Rambutan Cookie rose a brow looking up from where she was sharpening her spear casually raising a brow at the dragon pouting in her hut. "She was just unappreciative!" Lychee yelled waving their hands. "I went out of my way to help her when I didn't even have to and all I got in return for my kindness and hard work was her yelling ungratefully at me! HMPH!!" Rambutan sighed. Ever since Lychee had hypnotized the cookies of Rambutan Village into mining the caves for them and tricked them, things had been....tense between everyone. Lychee was trying to make it up to them(in their own weird way-) but it would be a slow progress. So Rambutan Cookie suggested they try making friends with cookies outside their islands. If Rambutan Village could see they can be friends with other cookies, then maybe they'll start to warm up faster to them. The problem was, the other dragons weren't too willing yet to just let Lychee be around their tribes unsupervised after what they had done, so Rambutan suggested someone not from the Tropical Soda Islands. "I heard from Mala Sauce Cookie that the Red Dragon made friends with a cookie from the Hollyberry Kingdom! Im sure if they can make friends outside the islands, so can you!" Rambutan was feeling so proud of them when Lychee first came back telling her ALL about this cookie who could kinda see past their illusions and was immune to her magic and who then had a trick off with them. It sounded like they managed to find the perfect match for a new friend with things they can bond over until last night. She looked at the pouting cookie. "Im sure your heart was in the right place, but remember what we talked about when we discussed only using your charming powers on monsters and enemies?" Lychee only continued to pout and stare at her. "If she didn't like you doing that, then maybe you should go and apologize?" "Apologize for what?! Trying to help!? Last time I ever try to help a cookie from the mainland!" "I do get it, but remember not everyone likes having things easily handed over to them. Cookies like to work hard for what they have. Take me for example." The spear was held up. "I wasn't just handed over the title of Village Chief. I had to prove to Rambutan Village that I was worthy of having the title and I have to keep proving that Im worthy. I also had to prove to you I'm worthy of being your friend too, didn't I?" "Stop with the mushy speeches! I get it already!"
-"Nobody told me making friends would be so boring and hard!" "Well if you still want to try to make friends with her, then you SHOULD go apologize and not do it again. Even if she doesn't want to be friends with you after that, it's the right thing to do..Maybe bring her an apology gift to show her you really mean it!" "Like what?" "I'll pick you a basket of rambutan fruit to give her! Just try to be a little more understanding." "UUuuuuuuhhh- Fine." Well she certainly wasn't expecting a knock on her hotel door only to open it to find the scowling cookie standing there. She wasn't even able to get a word in before a basket of fruit was shoved into her arms by the smaller cookie. "Here! Take it." She looked at the dark purplish-reddish and green fruits before blinking back at the frowning cookie. "...What is it?" "A gift basket! Duh! Haven't you ever scene one before?" "I see that...Why?" The cookie groaned rolling their eyes again. "Do I really have to explain everything? It's a gift obviously." "You are giving me a gift?" She rose a brow higher. "Is this some kind of apology?" "What else would it be?" They were trying to apologize?? Wasn't expecting that. "O-...Kay. I'll accept your apology but only if you promise not to do that again." "Yes, yes. Fine." They waved her off. "Now what do we do?" "Excuse me?" "We're friends now right? Rambutan said if I wanted to make friends, I should make amends. Since I apologized, all's forgiven now! So now we're friends!" Y/n slowly blinked. "....Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a minute." She held up a hand. "Were you...trying to make friends with me this entire time?" "Isn't it obvious? Friends help friends get things and do fun stuff together and apologize right?" She just stared at her. This little cookie or whatever it was was trying to makes friends with her???? She slowly nodded. "That's...true but it's more complicated than that." "UUUUUGH!! Why can't making friends be easy!? It shouldn't have to be so hard! Im literally trying here!" They threw their arms up making her suppress a laugh. "I can see that....Tell you what. We can be friends." The smaller cookie let her jaw drop before smiling. "Really?! Oh, finally! I thought it'd take longer-" "But on one condition. You have to apologize to the play director you mind controlled." "WHAT!? But he's not mind controlled anymore!" "I know, but it seems like a fair trade doesn't it? One apology for one friend. And it's the right thing to do." The cookie paused, humming and rubbing their chin in thought for a moment. "Sounds like something Rambutan would say too...*sigh* Fine. You got a deal. Im going to need another gift basket." She smiled. She's never had a friend before always too busy traveling around hoping no one recognized her but maybe this little creature whatever they were, wouldn't care. "That's great. Let's start over." She held out her hand to shake. "Hello. It's nice to meet you. My name is Y/n Cookie. What's your name, Friend?" The cookie hesitated before reaching out to shake her own hand. "You can call me Lychee for now. It's....nice to meet you or whatever it is you say when you meet someone." "Would you like to come in and join me for breakfast? "...Eh. Why not?" Well it was a start, and Rambutan seemed both surprised and really happy for their dragon overlord(friend-) that they actually managed to finally make a friend outside her, happily making them another gift basket when they asked not questioning why. "See? I knew you could do it. What's she like?" "She's a lot like you to be honest. I think I have the worst luck attracting the most emotional mushy cookies." She laughed at the dragon. "I can't wait to meet her! She sounds like the kind of person we'd all get along with."
-She was surprised to see Lychee among the cookies that had gotten a callback. "Lychee, you're acting in the play too?" "Of course! Who else is better to play Puckie than the master of illusions?~" She decided not to ask whether they influenced their way in. "What part do you have?" "I actually got Herbmia." "Eh? Isn't that one of the main four roles?" "Yes! Director Cookie says I have the perfect features of a tragic character like her." Lychee's expression went deadpanned. "Isn't that an insult?" "Not when it comes to acting certain roles. You have to become the character after all!" "If you say so. I'm only joining to show all these cookies how it's done." Lychee rubbed their hands together smirking in delight. "And no one can complain about me doing a little trickery." "As long as you don't do anything to ruin the play. I'm really excited to see you play as Puckie though. Im sure you'll be the best Puckie ever." "Please, feel free to flatter me all you want. It's true anyways.~" "If you can act as well as you can perform tricks, then I know it's true." "Places everyone!" The director called out waving to the many many cookies wondering about. "It's time to start our first rehearsal. You all know your roles. Remember this is our first rehearsal so if you get something wrong, just correct yourself and move on. There will be plenty of time to rehearse your lines later." He looked at his clip board. "We're starting with the opening scene. We need Thirstseus, Duke of Eathans. Sodapoplyta, Queen of the Amazovens. Eggseus, Herbmia's father. Herbmia. Lyesander. Donutrius. And Melona on the stage for Opening Scene." "That's my cue." She turned back to Lychee with a smile. "We'll talk later after rehearsals. Ok?" "Alright. Break a leg I guess." She only smiled before turning to walk away. Leaving Lychee to only watch from the sidelines with the others as they watched the opening scene get played through. "OPENING SCENE TAKE ONE! QUIET ON THE SET!! AND ACTION!"..And they noticed she was the only who got through her entire lines perfectly. Literally perfectly! She didn't falter in her movements, said all her lines correctly without stuttering, messing up, or having to look at a piece of paper, and did the proper emotions exactly when she had to. It was like she had already did this play a thousand times already and knew what exactly to do. "AND SCENE!! Donutrius, you can't be constantly stuttering! Work on your stage fright! If you think just me watching makes you nervous, you're not ready for an opening crowd. Melona, study your lines better. Your emotions were a little flat. Put more emotion into your words! You're heartbroken! Not taking a boring class. Everyone else, good job! But practice makes perfect! Be sure to rehearse your lines and practice your acts off stage if you can as well. Ten minute break before we rehearse Scene One Act One." Lychee popped up right beside her before she could do anything. "That wasn't too half baked. Have you done this before?" "Thank you. I have been in plays before but this is the first time I've played in A Mid-Simmer Night's Dream." "Really? You acted everything out perfectly." "Oh. Well that's because I've read about this play before in a library." Back at Blueberry Yogurt Academy but she shook her head. "I have photographic memory from my mom's side of the family. It might take time for me to remember things but I can remember things pretty well." Lychee's brow rose higher. "Immunity to spells, detect them, and a memory like an elephant animal cracker? Is there anything you can't do?" "I'm not immune to magic." She corrected them. "Im just so used to certain types of magic that they usually don't work, but they still can if it's a really powerful spell. Even then it's only illusion or charming magic that I'm used to. Other forms of magic still affect me just like everyone else. If someone shot a fireball at me, I'd still die." "Huh...Guess you're not as immune as I thought." "Im not really. Come on. Let's go grab something to eat from the refreshment table before we have to rehearse."
-The next twelve weeks of rehearsals, dress fitting, and getting ready for the play was interesting to say the least. Someone was playing little harmless tricks around the theater. A bucket of water over the director's office. Someone super glued one of the background fairies shoes to the floor making her trip. One of the backgrounds for Herbmia's home was painted completely red and had to be painted back. Every time she'd look at Lychee. "I know you did that." "Who me?~ I'd never." "You're not fooling me." "Hey. Even if I did, not that I did, you said not to do anything to sabotage the production. And even IF I did, which I didn't, the tricks aren't really hurting anyone or anything. Besides you have no proof it was me or not.~" As much as she wanted to call them out, the tricks weren't really hurting anyone. Annoying AF yes, but no one got hurt and the play was still running right on scheduale. Maybe they were the real life version of Puckie the trickster fae. They were certainly a convincing version of the character they embraced in their scenes, and Y/n had to admit...Lychee was actually really good at this character. Maybe it was because she was that character out of character as well. "I’ll follow you. I’ll lead you about a round. Through a bog, through bush, through brake, through brier. Sometimes a horse I’ll be, sometimes a cakehound. A hog, a headless gummy bear, sometimes a fire. And neigh, and bark, and grunt, and roar, and burn. Like horse, cakehound, hog, gummy bear, fire at every turn!~ AHAHAHAHA!!" "AND SCENE!! Gorgeously done as always, Mangosteen Cookie!" Director Cookie praised them as they smirked proudly. "You're the best Puckie I've ever had the pleasure of working with! It's like the character itself emerged from the script and took cookie form before my eyes!" They puffed out proudly. "But of course. This is me we're talking about.~" "Alright, Everyone. Break for lunch and then we'll go through the next half of the play. Remember we only have three rehearsals left before opening night! Be sure you're practicing hard!" Although something confused her. "Hey, Lychee. Why does everyone except me call you Mangosteen Cookie?" "Hm? Oh that. It's a nickname I use when I go out. So don't use my real name in front of everyone, and call me Mangosteen Cookie too when we're in public." "Oh. Alright." She leaned in closer. "Any particular reason why?" Lychee carefully looked around before whispering back. "You never know when a dra-...monster slayer or monster hunters might be lurking about. Gotta keep myself protected somehow." Monster hunters and slayers? So does that mean Lychee was a monster? Or at the very least they probably weren't a cookie or sugar gnome at all. She didn't know why someone would want to harm Lychee. Despite their pranks being annoying and they could mind control others, she's never actually seen them harm anyone. But it was better to be safe than sorry so she nodded. "Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you." Lychee looked taken aback but huffed. "I should be more worried about you getting hurt under my watch. I can't handle anything, you can't." "Still, you can trust me. Come on. Let's go refuel. We'll need all the energy we can get for the rest of this." "Um..Alright." They hadn't encounter a cookie like this outside Rambutan Cookie but Rambutan was really encouraging to them whenever they came back with an update. "Im really happy you two are bonding so much!...Wait. You did tell them you were a dragon right?" "Not...yet." "Well, reveal it to her when you're ready. Maybe try to spend time with her outside of this play as well." Rambutan knew more about cookie friendships than they did so they would follow her advice. "Hey! Let's do something fun!" She looked up from rereading the script of A Mid-Simmer Night's Dream for what must've been the hundredth time. "Like what?" "Anything that's not sitting around and boringly reading. Let's go play tricks!" "Or how about we go for a walk and get something to eat?"
-"Huh? But how is that fun?" "Sometimes you can do things together as friends that's not your typical fun, but they're still enjoyable because you do them together." Rambutan also said something similar. "You don't do everything you want to do in a friendship either. Me and you don't. Try doing things she likes too. Who knows? Maybe you'll find something new you like to do." ".....I think you and my other cookie friend would get along really well." "I'd love to meet her sometime. The way you talk about her makes her sound like a very smart cookie." "She is. *sigh* Come on. Let's go get this walk over with." Well the walk was pleasant, even if Lychee somehow ended up making someone sit on their own ice cream cone at the cafe they stopped by for dinner...She still had no idea HOW they did that when they were sitting in front of her the entire time. But by the way they were smirking, it was definitely them. Sigh. Oh well. At least the ice cream was good. The play went by relatively quickly to opening night. Not the biggest crowd being just a single theater in a small city, but as they say the show much go on. The play went on,and other than the cookie playing Donutrius stuttering through his lines a few times, it went off without a hitch! At the end of the play after the bows Lychee had slunk away quickly without word to anyone but she noticed. She ended up finding Lychee a floor above the theater leaning out the window just as she dumped a bucket of some kind of liquid out of it. A few screams from some cookies echoed out from below as they peered out snickering. "That wasn't very nice, Lychee." Lychee turned before shrugging and tossing the bucket to the side. "They started it by calling me a derogatory name for short Cooke's." They turned noticing the bouquet of flowers in her arms. "Wow! They must've really liked you out there. Someone even got you flowers." "Actually I got these for you." Lychee stopped immediately blinking. "...What?" "It's tradition to gift someone flowers after a successful performance." She held out the flowers. "These are for you." Lychee didn't say anything as she passed the flowers into their arms and they just stood there staring at the flowers before looking at her then back to the flowers. "You got these..for me?" "Of course! You put on a great performance just like you said you would! The director was right. You were the best Puckie I've ever seen. You deserve it!" "I-...Of course I do! HAHA! After all I'm the best!" "You are. Come on. Let's go out to celebrate! My treat! I'll buy you a round of hollyberry juice." "Yeah! Sure! That's great!" Lychee didn't say much of anything else that night other than some muttered congratulations at the dinner and stuffing their face to not speak, but she just guessed that they were tired after a long night. "....Are you leaving now that the play is over?" The question came out of no where making her pause. "...Um. No not yet. There's still a few gigs across the city I can do before I even consider that, so I won't be leaving any time soon." "Good! Because I'm not done with you yet either!" "I sorta got that impression already by how you're acting. Don't worry. There's still lots of time for us to spend time together." Lychee only hummed. "I'm going to be auditioning for a small singing and dancing job at a tavern later. I even made a dress for the occasion." They finally looked up from the strawberry burger she bought them. "You make your own costumes?" "Yes! Although it took me a REALLY long time to learn how to tailor properly. Im almost done with it. Would you like to see me try it on?" "Oooh. That's why you bought all that fabric." They nodded instantly. "Alright. Why not? They say the outfit makes the cookie." "Alright. Come by my room at the inn four days from now. I should have it done by then."
-Well four days later Lychee just opened her door without knocking up only to stop in their tracks. Standing there was Y/n. An absolutely GORGEOUS violet dress hugging her body perfectly, her hair was curled up into a beautiful hairdo, and with just the right amount of make up to enhance her already naturally pretty face. Y/n looked up from adjusting one sleeve of the dress surprised but smiled instantly seeing the frozen dragon in disguise. "Lychee! Knock next time before you walk in but Im happy you're here!" She lifted up the hem of the beautiful dress. "What do you think? The color matches your hat!" They just continues to stare at her, someone warmed their cheeks and there pupils dilated. "Um-...You-.....The color-..It's...*AHEM*!!" They turned away waving her off. "You look decently enough for a good first impression. You'll probably get the job on the first try." "Aw thanks. But I've never waltzed before. I've seen them do it but I've never tried it before. Do you know how to waltz?" "No....Bu-But if you need a partner to practice with-" Yn stared in awe as they just floated off the ground in mid air. "I can still help." "You can float!?" "Fly. But yes." "That's amazing!" Does that mean Lychee was a fairy cookie after all like Puckie? "Lychee....are you a..fairy cookie?" Lychee stared at her for a long moment before throwing their head back in loud laughter that probably the lobby downstairs and the other rooms could hear them. "Me? A weakling like them? That's rich!" "Oh. Sorry. A fairy is the only person I know who could do all the magic you do. If you're not a fairy, then what kind of being are you if you don't mind me asking?" Lychee paused, sticking their head out the door to look for anyone before the door was closed and locked behind them. Their eyes narrowed locking onto her. A second later the curtains on her window closed by themselves. "What I show you does NOT leave this room!" Their voice growled out in a way she's never heard before. Instantly she nodded. A moment passed, and then a moment later Mangosteen Cookie's form became wobbling and shift until it melted away like hot butter and something purple poked itself out from under their dough. "TADA!!" They declared arms out. "What do you think!? Totally much more impressive than that dumb cookie disguise." Yn stared at what had appeared before her. The small figure was a violet color all over wearing a black and purple dress with large purple horns resembling a jester's hat. White hair was sported on their head and on their back turquoise and black wings flapped keeping them flying, a scaly tail happy wagged behind them. They were uh-....A-...Actually she wasn't sure. "Oh wow! That's amazing! You look incredible! In fact....I've never seen anyone quite like you before." What were they? They had scales and bat wings. A gargoyle maybe?? "As expected! Feast your eyes on none other than the Violet Dragon!" "Dragon!? You're a dragon!?" This was a dragon?? But weren't dragons supposed to be...Well big and lizard like and kidnapped princesses and burnt down villages and hoarded loot in caves??? "I've never met a dragon before." Dragons could perform magic?? "Well now you have the privilege of being the friend of one-" "You're so beautiful!" "EH!?" They were suddenly swarmed as her pretty face was inches away from them. "Look at you! The colors, the textures of your scales- Oh. Sorry." She leaned back. "Guess I got carried away. That was great! Do all dragons do magic like yours? Or are you the only one who does magic?" "Sl-Slow down! I-I can barely hand one question right now!" "Sorry, Lychee. You're right. That was invasive sorry." "Hmph!! Let's just stick to one question for now!" "Fair enough...So, do all dragons do magic?" "Yes, but all our powers are different. Now no more q-questions! Do you want help dancing or not!?" "Oh right! I almost forgot about that."
-"Don't forget. Now how do we start?" "Well..from what I've seen-" Lychee froze when she just grabbed both her arms and put one on her shoulder while she held the other, Y/n putting her own free arm around their waist with the closeness. "They do a stance like this. I can do the steps myself." They smiled at them. "The best part about having you as a dance partner is that I can't step on your feet by accident." "....." Rambutan Cookie was expecting another friendship update from Lychee. Rambutan Cookie was NOT expecting for her door to be kicked open so violently that her doorframe cracked and the sound of the door slamming into the wall could be heard all the way on Pineapple Island. She dropped her cup of fruit juice(staining her carpet) instinctively grabbing her spear but stopped seeing the panting red-faced dragon standing in her doorway. "RAMBUTAN COOKIE!!!" "Lychee?! What on earthbread ar-!?" She didn't get to finish her sentence before she was snagged by the smaller cookie and shaken back and forth in their flustered panic. "RAMBUTANCOOKIEYOUGOTTAHELPME!! ITHINKIMESSEDUPANDHAVEACRUSHONHERNOW!! WHATDOIDO!?" Her eyes were spinning in their sockets dizzy from the violent shaking, head spinning before shaking it and staring at the still panting dragon. ".....Can you repeat everything starting at the part after you screamed my name the first time?" "I THINK I'M STARTING TO FALL IN LOVE!! FOR REAL THIS TIME!! NOT THE FAKE 'YOU LOVE ME NOW CUZ I PUT A SPELL ON YOU' WAY!! HELP MEEEEEEE!!" Rambutan's mouth dropped open for a moment in shock. "Wait. You're being serious right now right?" "OF COURSE I AM!! WHY ELSE WOULD I BE HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!?" "Fair enough." She finally managed to pry the dragon's hands off her and finally took a moment to stare at their current state. Nervously fidgiting, twitching, face all flustered and nervous- She's never seen them like this before, and she doubted they'd literally break her door down just for a practically joke at four in the morning..Well at least not anymore. So this was real. "I wasn't expecting you to fall in love with somebody when you were trying to make a friend. Just-...Wow. I need a moment to take this all in." "BE SERIOUS!!" "I am. That's why I need a moment to let it sink in.....Alright. So...You actually must really like this woman." "CAN WE SKIP THE OBVIOUS PART ALREADY!?" "Well....Congratulations, Lychee!" Rambutan smiled at them. "This is a really big surprise, but I'm genuinely happy for you both!" "That's the point! She doesn't kkknnnoooowwww!!" They face planted into the floor with a plop sound. "Why must I be cursed with mushy cookie feeliiiiings!? The disdaaaain! I can't take it no more-" "Don't you think you're being a little over dramatic with this? What's wrong with falling in love? Don't the other dragons have mates too?" "That's my point! I don't know what to do about thiiisss!! Rambutan Cookie, what am I going to do?! She's so pretty and perfect and likes everything I like and she even gave me mushy soft flowers!!" "Maybe you should try telling her how you feel. The worst she can say is no and you two still remain friends." "Im not good with emotions and you know that!" They yelled muffled by the floor making Rambutan sigh. "Alright. Well how do dragons usually court mates? Maybe you should try that." Immediately they were in the air again smiling. "Why didn't I think of that!? Rambutan Cookie, as my most loyal follower you are to make me the biggest most exquisite gift basket that even Pitaya's gluttony wouldn't be able to resist!" Rambutan rose a brow. "....Please?" She sighed. "Alright. But next time knock. You have a bad habit of just walking in on cookies." She was not expecting a VERY large gift basket filled with all kinds of different fruit to appear on her doorstep. No note or anyone there. Just a heavy basket full of fruit and what looked like store bought chocolate and a bottle of hollyberry juice. Although she suspected it was from Lychee who happened to pop up the next day.
-"How's my favorite actress today?~" "Fine thanks...Hey. Did you leave a basket on my doorstep yesterday?" "YEP! Did you like it?" They asked excitedly. "Yes. It was very nice. You didn't have to do that." "Well there's more than where THAT came from- TADA!!" They pulled out a massive purple hydrangea bouquet out of no where. "Here! Don't they remind you of me too!?" "Um..Yes. Thank you." "Come on! I have an entire day planned on all this mushy stuff you like!" "Oh. That sounds great! It's been a while since we last got together! Just let me put these flowers in some juice first." All the 'mushy stuff' was suspiciously romantic. It started off as normal. Sure the giant gift basket and bouquet of purple flowers was a bit weird but she could've chalked it up to Lychee's love language being gift giving and them wanting to make her feel appreciated because- "Friends give each other things, right?" But going on a long walk on the nearby beach? Lychee insisting(demanding) they stop right there and have a picnic lunch...If by picnic they meant just sitting on the sand with some strawberry burgers and soda pop they surprisingly paid a beach going vendor for with some gold coins. Then again they were a dragon so it makes sense they had treasure. However it was really weird. She always ended up paying for both of them when they went out and Lychee never made any ruckus about it before...Again it might've just been them trying to be a good friend, but by the time Lychee insisted they stopped by a small arcade that's where it went from coincidence to not coincidence. It was your typical small city arcade filled with various games. Mostly full of kids and their parents but a few adults were playing games too. Definitely the kind of place Lychee would like. "Watch and learn! I'm going to earn you SO many tickets.~" And the tickets flowed. They nearly broke the game of whack-a-cake hound, nearly emptied the claw machine of all the little prizes inside until she stopped them to save some toys for the kids, and dragging a mile of tickets behind them towards the reward counter. The poor cashier looked like he'd seen a ghost when a mountain of tickets the size of a cookie was pushed towards him by Lychee. "Gimme that giant stuffed gummy bear!" By the time they left, she was struggling to carry one gigantic teddy bear almost as big as herself and various other knickknacks that Lychee insisted on gifting her. They had to stop by her hotel room again just to get rid of the burden of carrying it all. "Come on! Let's go out again! There's this weird little dinner theater I found. It's pretty mediocre but still something you'd like." "Slow down a little bit." She dumped all the little trinkets on the bed. "This has been a pretty eventful already." "Eh? But didn't you have fun?" "Of course I did. I'm just a little curious is all. This is feeling a little bit more like a date than a hangout." "That's because it is!" She paused blinking at the dragon crossing their arms. "What?" "Isn't it obvious? I like you, you like me I think?" They just plopped themselves down on the bed lounging and making themselves comfortable. "So what's the big deal?" "Well you're supposed to ask someone on a date first before you take them out." They stared at her for a moment. "....Usually dragons don't have to ask to start courting." "Well it's a bit different for cookies." "Did you still have fun though? We're not done! I can do other things for you too! I can pay for you to permanantly stay in this dump or I can take you back to my home! You wouldn't have to pay anything there! I can get you anything you want!...Please say yes." "I-....T-This is all really sudden." She looked back between them and the pile of gifts they received. "I honestly don't know what to say." "Please let me court you." They were hugging her middle in an instant. "Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseple-"
-"Alright, alright." She sighed. "You can court me but if I don't like you like that, you have to accept my no. Ok?" "YES!!" Their smile was instantly back. "Don't worry. I'm going to court you so good that there's no way you won't fall for me.~" "Uh huh. Well just remember what we agreed to." "Yeah, yeah. Come on!" She yelped as Lychee just grabbed her hand and dragged her to the door. "We might has well finish this date first! I still have like seven other things planned!" Well...Lychee took this courting business very seriously. More gifts, mostly gift baskets of food but there was other things as well a few new fabrics and a book or two of different plays she suspected that they stole from a library but she couldn't prove it. One time they had brought her a necklace, beautiful. Some kind of purple amethyst on a silver chain, it was beautiful and most likely came from their own treasure hoard if the rumor of dragon's loving and hoarding treasure was true. She thanked them and simple left the necklace on a nightstand. "Why don't you wear it?" She looked up one day from reading through one of the play books Lychee had brought her, The Merchant Of Venison. "The necklace. Why don't you ever wear it? Do you not like it?" "Oh no. It's beautiful. I really like it, but I usually don't wear jewelry. They remind me too much of the feeling of strings on me." Lychee's face scrunched up confused. "Strings? Why would that matter?" She shifted uncomfortably. "It's...a really, really long story." "Oooh! A dramatic backstory! Now I'm not gonna drop it until you tell me." Her face turned serious. "Its not something to joke about. It seriously caused me to have really bad trauma for a long time." "What is it? Are you a runaway fugitive? Are you a phantom of the opera or something?" She hesitated again. "Hey. I revealed myself to you! So now you have to reveal yourself to me! It's only fair!" Was it? Lychee was someone who seemed to take most things un-seriously, so would they take not seriously too? Then again, if they were a dragon, they might not care what cookies do or think. She slowly looked back at them. "Have you ever heard of someone called Shadow Milk Cookie?" Lychee blinked before shaking their head. "Alright. How about someone called the Fount of Knowledge?" "Neither of those cookies ring a bell." "He's the same person." "Still don't know them. Why?" Their eyes narrowed dangerously. "Is he your ex?" "What? NO!!" She scowled. "Absolutely NOT!!" The book was tossed onto the bed. "We were NEVER in a relationship! He used to be my boss before he went crazy, and part of that craziness was because he somehow believed that we were in a relationship and he even planned our wedding." Actually he made them both act out a fake wedding on stage that still made her shudder. "HE WHAT!?" They growled out and suddenly pulled AN AXE out of no where. "TELL ME WHICH LAND HE INHABITS!! I'LL BRING YOU HIS FLOUR AFTER I CRUMBLE HIM AND BAKE YOU A CAKE WITH IT!!" "WHOA!! DON'T DO THAT!! You'll definitely attract dragon slayers with that! Besides, he was locked away years ago so it doesn't matter now. He doesn't even know where I am if he's even still alive." "...What do you mean 'if he's still even alive'?" Well, there was no point in hiding anything anymore, so she spilt the beans. Lychee was silent the entire time she spoke about her past. Working for the Fount of Knowledge at Blueberry Yogurt Academy while trying to get her foot in the door for acting, how he helped her study for her very first ever play- "I thought he was super smart and kind just like everyone always said he was! Honestly I considered us really good friends at that time. I had no idea he even had feelings for me until he told me he was planning our wedding!" "HA! He's the Master of Deceit alright! He's so delusional he deceived himself into believing a fantasy he created in his head."
-She continued and Lychee went silent again, not even flying anymore. Just standing there on the bed staring intently when she explained about the strings, the forced affection, how she was so happy the day he was locked away but also how she was almost beaten by a mob, disowned by her family, and harassed everywhere she went because everyone assumed she had been in cahoots with the evil Beast. At this they finally spoke. "Did you call him a Beast?" She nodded. "Yes. There was five of them. When they turned evil, everyone called them the Beast Cookies. Why?" Then hummed in thought. "...Maybe Lotus was onto something with that research they were having Snake Fruit Cookie do." "What?" "Nothing. I'll explain later. Continue." "Well...that's pretty much it. The Fairy King helped me leave Beast Yeast undercover so I wouldn't be in constant danger all the time, and I traveled for a while getting work when I could until I ended up here off the coast of Tropical Soda Sea. That's the entire story up til I met you at the festival months ago." Lychee still didn't say anything for a long moment. "...Well, it doesn't matter now." They fell back onto the mountain of plushies they had gotten her hands behind their head, legs crossed. "You're my mate now so even if someone tries to take you, they'd be burnt to a crisp faster than Pitaya looses their temper." She decided not to correct them this time. "Who's Lotus and Pitaya? And Snake Fruit?" "All three are dragons like me. ....Well Lotus and Pitaya are true dragons. Snake Fruit's a cheap knock off who cookie who happened to become a dragon. They work at Lotus Paradise now under Lotus." Lotus Paradise. "Wait. I know that place. That's one of the gigantic islands off the coast far into the sea. Tour boats take tourists there all the time and Pineapple Island." "Ick." Lychee grimaced. "Lotus and Ananas are always letting strangers roam around their island. Dumb idea if you ask me! What's the point of even having your own territory if you aren't even going to keep it to yourself?" ".....Aren't there local tribes on those islands?" She assumed Ananas was also another dragon. They waved them off. "Sure but at least Pitaya has enough brains to keep their tribe under management. What's the point of having a large territory if you don't have at least a few minions to help maintain it?" "Does that mean you also have a tribe under your territory?" They lit up. "The best tribe! The Rambutan Tribe lives on a small islet just off my island which is also a part of my territory! Rambutan Cookie lives there! *GASP!!* YOU SHOULD COME MEET THEM!! If they see you, I know they'll love me more!" Rambutan Cookie was their friend they always spoke highly of. "...Well, I really don't have any free time right now, but I'd love to meet her and see your island. It sounds like a fun time." "Why can't you visit nnnoooowww!?" "Because I have a job now, and someone has to pay for my hotel room and food." Lychee opened their mouth- "And no. You're not going to pay for everything of mine. It's too early for that." "HMPH!!" They flopped back against the plushies. "...*sigh* Alright. We can go visit them on the weekend." "Now that's more like it!"
-She found out having a dragon court her was quite an experience. Food was constantly being left on her doorstep or on her bed, she guessed Lychee could also teleport into her room. And more than once she found Lychee rearranging the furniture provided to her by the inn. "What are you doing?" "This...doesn't feel right." Their pupils were blown WIDE open as they moved things around with surprising strength(they were a LOT stronger than they looked) reminding her of a cat's pupils dilating. One day she just came back and immediately she was hit with the strongest smell of cleaning supplies she'd ever smelt. It made her cough and shake her head before looking inside and pausing. The room was SPOTLESS. It literally looked like even the ceiling and walls were scrubbed as she looked around the suddenly hyper cleaned room. The inn's dresser was pushed against the opposite wall, all her makeup and brushes neatly arranged like a doctor's medical kit on top of it. The window so clean she could almost see her reflection in the clear glass. And her mattress completely GONE. Left in it's place was a clean up bed frame. However in the middle of the room was a mass of pillows and blankets and all her plushest Lychee gotten her all arranged in the middle with a certain dragon poking half their head out of the mess. "Lychee, did you...deep clean my room?" "Yes. It was too dirty." Dirty? She looked around the room again. Her room may not have been a hospital level sterile but it wasn't dirty. "What did you do to the mattress?" They snorted. "It smelt like too many cookies!" "Lychee, that mattress wasn't even mine! It belongs to the inn!" She frowned pointing to the door. "If they find out you threw out that mattress they're going to make me pay for it. You're going to either get the mattress back or buy a new one this instant!" They snorted again but rolled their eyes crawling out of the strange pile. "Fine. But no one else is allowed to sleep on it!" Taking the chance after they left, they took a look around finding all her clothes recleaned and neatly folded away and the bathroom looked like it was brand new....Honestly that was probably the most spotless, cleanest toilet she had ever seen. Lychee brought back a new mattress dragging it behind them into the room. It didn't look like the old one so they must've bought a new one before annoyed-ly threw it onto the bed frame.
-Well the day to go visit Rambutan and her tribe came and Lychee practically carried her to the boat leading heading out into the Tropical Soda Seas. The boat brought them to a small island where the small dragon continued to drag her from the docks and into the thick tropical forest. A decently sized village came into view and so were cookies. Some were repairing a rooftop, others were sharping spears, a few ladies were sitting in the middle of the village preparing fish from the nearby coast to eat. All had some kind of dark reddish-purple or neon green hair in color as they watched the dragon whizz by with her until they got to certain hut where Lychee just threw open the door. "RAMBUTAN COOKIE!!" A cookie with a long ponytail ended up dropping a plate of food getting it all over the floor as the dragon dragged her in. They waved their arm as the cookie just stared at them. "LOOK AT MY NEW MATE!! Isn't she more beautiful than Lotus's mate!?" There was silence as the cookies just looked at each other before the other cookie slowly blinked at her. "....She's real." "OF COURSE SHE'S REAL!! Who did you think I was talking about?!" "Uh...Hi." She smiled holding out a hand. "My name is Y/n Cookie. You must be Rambutan. Lychee told me all about you." The other cookie also smiled and shook her hand. "I know. They keep talking about you too. Nonstop about how much they love you." Lychee huffed behind them both. "It's nice to finally meet you. Lychee mentioned courting a new mate, but I wasn't expecting you so soon. Would you like to join me for lunch?" She glanced at the mess on the floor. "...After I clean up this mess." "That sounds great! Let me help you clean this up." "Well thank you. I appreciate that." Rambutan turned out to be a very blunt but kind host much as what Lychee described her to be serious, dutiful, brave, respectful- Very polite too when she gave her a plate of fruit and cooked fish from the ocean and a cup of juice. "Sorry if it's not what you usually eat. We live on simple but nutritious meals here." "It's alright. Thank you so much....Are those spears on your walls?" "Oh yes. There's lots of monsters that roam around this island and they always multiple during the mating seasons. It's a part of our job living here to make sure that their numbers don't overpopulate and upset the balance of the ecosystem. The last time that happened our village was attacked by a huge group of them. It's always a good idea to keep some within reach just in case." "Tell me about your village. It seems like a peaceful place." "Usually it is! We don't usually get a lot of visitors this way-" They both ended up talking a lot leaving Lychee sitting there pouting without being included. But she learnt about the symbiotic relationship between the dragon and the villages, how Rambutan was the chief of the village, and currently the only one on good terms with their dragon overlord- "You mind controlled the whole village into mining you crystals!?" She whipped around to stare at the pouting dragon. "NO! Not all of them! Rambutan Cookie isn't affected by my magic like you and I already apologized to them like four times already!!" "They're still working on rebuilding trust with everyone." Rambutan clarified. "I already forgave them but it's going to take a while with everyone else. It was actually my idea that they try making friends with cookies outside the islands to prove they could be trusted again. I wasn't expecting them to bring back a mate, but no complaints here." "Well, we're definitely going to talk about that more later." "But is true you aren't affected by their magic too?" "Um. Kind of." She explained a brief summary to Rambutan leaving out the tragic backstory and Shadow Milk as they listened and explained how she was unable to be affected by Lychee's magic.
-Also she finally got an answer to Lychee's strange, strange behaviors. "Oh. Yes. I think someone mentioned to me about their nesting behaviors." "Nesting?" "It's instinctual for dragons. It's like birds almost. They like the place they keep their thrones and nests cleaned and organized. Constantly preening. It's totally normal for them. They also like their loved ones living in a similar place. Their thought process is cleaner and more organized decreases the chances of disease and danger or something like that. It's an instinct that's ingrained in them." That explained a lot actually. "It's also normal for them to leave treasure and food as courting gifts." That also explained a lot. "So when will you be moving into the village?" "Huh?" "Lychee has already set up a hut for you here since it's safer than their actual island. We've been expecting you for a while." "....I haven't decided if I even will yet. It's too soon. For now I'm just visiting." "I understand. It's a big decision after all. Take your time. Just know if you should choose to join our village, you have a friend here to help you." "Thank you, Rambutan. I appreciate it." "Think nothing of it! Let me show you where you'll be staying for the week." Week? Yep. It turns out the boat only came by once a week so unless she wanted Lychee to dawn their dragon form and fly them back, she was stuck here until the boat came. At least the hut Lychee had personally built AND furnished AND cleaned for her was nice...even though instead of a bed there was a second and bigger nest in the middle. Oh well. Beggers can't be choosers. Six days flew by faster than she expected. Rambutan Cookie showed her around the island except for the deep wild parts, explaining the various dangers and showing her the rambutan trees some ladies were harvesting fruit some. She decided to help out around the island white she was there- "Like this?" She asked trying to help repair a fishing net. "Almost." A lady nearby said. "You almost got it right, but with that knot it'll snack under even a goldfish and then the hole will rip bigger." Perhaps being see with Rambutan so happily showing her around inspired some others into interacting with her. They were all polite but mostly distant not that she blamed them. She was a stranger and Lychee's Mate so to speak. However a lot of them didn't go anywhere near the dragon whenever they were together. "Give them some time. You'll be there soon." She gave a kiss to the dragon's forehead which made them freeze...before a loud squeal followed by loud happy giggling by the dragon. By the time she went back, she at least had made one real friend. "Stop by and visit us again anytime! It's always a pleasure to have someone respectful of the island visit for a change." "Thank you. You've been a gracious hostess. I'll definitely come visit Lychee's best friend again." She paused when she grabbed her hand. "And please continue being kind to them. I know they're a lot and can be difficult but they're good deep down, I promise, and you seem to make them really happy." "Haha. Don't worry. I already planned on doing that."
-"Where are you going?" Y/n looked up as Lychee pointed at her from where they laid in the nest. "And dressed so fancy like that? Are we going on another date?" "Oh this? It's for an auditions for Reheathers the Musical." "But I thought you didn't like singing and dancing too much." "I don't but when you're in the acting industry you can't be picky about roles! Besides, I'm not going for one of the main roles. I can be a background dancer. It'll be good to get out of my comfort zone and experience new things!" ".....So you're going to try out?" "Not yet. Auditions aren't until next week. I'm going down by the beach to practice since no one goes down there at sun down. So it'll be the perfect place to practice in peace!" They slowly sat up stretching. "Well, if you're doing that I'm going to go hunt for us." And by hunt, they meant probably buy some fast food for their dinner. "Don't be out for longer than two hours or else I'm going to make you come back." She shook her head. "Yes, Parent. I won't stay out past curfew." "I'm serious. Whenever we go somewhere together something has been feeling...off." They narrowed their eyes at the closed curtains. "It's like someone's watching us." She had been having that same feeling but there wasn't anyone watching them whenever she looked so it must've been the dragon becoming more possessive of her. "It's alright. I'll be fine. You be careful out there in case it's a dragon slayer or monster hunter on your trail." "Psh. As if I'd let a hunter get this close to me." Lychee disguised as Mangosteen Cookie again took their leave after she did to avoid suspicion and they were both off. Lychee gave her two hours at max until they'd force her back 'home' and considering what Rambutan told her, they'd literally pick her up and drag her back. So if she wanted some time to herself just to spend alone time away from the clingy dragon, she'd better hurry. She felt like someone was watching her from around two blocks from the beach but when she looked no one was there so she shrugged it off as Lychee's paranoia getting to her until she had gotten to the part of the beach she wanted. Peaceful with no cookie in sight and the only sounds being the lazy waves. Perfect. She was never too good at singing, so she would rather practice in private.
-Her singing echoed up and down the ocean and beach with only a few birds as audience. She was glad no one as around as her voice suddenly cracked or sounded off many times. She was probably not going to get any parts but practice makes perfect. "We'll watch the smoke poor out the doors!~ Bring marshmallows, we'll make s'mores!~ We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!~" "I was meant to be yours.~" She froze. "We were meant to be one.~ I can't make it alone.~ Finish what we've begun.~" That..wasn't her voice. "YOU were meant to be MINE!~ I am all that you need!~" Her head slowly turned. "You carved open my heart.~ Can't just leave me to bleed.~" Standing there in the moonlight was a second cookie, a man. Smiling and blinking multiple eyes at her. "Talk about a smooth entrance. Am I right? Also, good choice in song." He slowly clapped his hands together. "It really describes us to a T. Dontcha agree?" Her whole world tilted sideways as she could only stare at the floating being. "You-" "TADA! The star of the show has arrived!" He yelled out striking a dramatic pose. "Ladies and gentlemen. The world's finest playwright, poet, director, actor, clown, and everyone's most beloved trickster!" "N-No! Nononono!!" She took a step back on instinct horror filling her body. "Y-You can't be here! You're-" "Imprisoned? Oh that's old news. No prison no matter how magically fancy it is can hold me for long.~" "W-What do you want?" That was when the look he gave truly scared her. It wasn't angry or enraged or even scary. It was genuinely soft. "I missed you, Silly. Who wouldn't miss their wife?~" "I-I'M NOT YOUR WIFE!! We were never married!" "Oh, right. Guess our little playing house wasn't technically legally binding but-" "NO! We were never together to begin with! Y-You're delusional and cruel! I still feel the strings around my throat as you choked me while puppeteering me around!" "We made some mistakes-" "WE NEVER DID ANYTHING!!" She pointed at him. "You kept me prisoner and forced me to do everything! You're nothing but a delusional IDIOT and I would NEVER LOVE YOU!! I NEVER HAVE LOVED YOU!! EVEN IF YOU WERE THE LAST COOKIE ON EARHTBREAD I WOULD LOVE YOU!!" Silence rang out between the two of them as he just stood there, staring, wide eyed. Eventually he spoke in a low tone. "I see....Well they say fake it til you make it right? Doesn't mean that you can't love me sometime." He made a come here motion at her with a grin nearly splitting his face in half. "Come here, Angel Cake.~ Come to my arms and embrace me.~" He didn't get farther than two and a half feet, when something flew down and SLAMMED right on the top of his head. Down he went face first into the beach. She lifted her arms up covering her face from the WAVE of sand thrown up from whatever it was that fell from the sky....eventually she slowly lowered her arms to look at what happened. A crater had formed in the beach in front of her her body went into shock as Shadow Milk's HEADLESS BODY laid there splayed on the beach. Muffled screaming she couldn't make out came from the crater as a mountain of sand was PUSHED over it filling it completely by a massive tail....She looked up, mouth slack as a DRAGON stood there on the beach stared in hatred at the pile their tail patted. They then snorted, turned to her, and said one line. "Pack your things. You're coming home with me."
Happy Anniversary to this blog and Happy Valentine's!
Redrew the costume we made last time
Tried a new rendering style and I think I like it! Takes a lot of time though. Anyway I used to grind on Crob with Hydrangea. She’s awesome.
My dragon miis are on tomodachi share now, with 2 beasts!
Now you can appreciate and remake Pitaya's bigass forehead in full glory 😋

Looking back at the oven
Platonic (idk how to classify this one tbh)
I decided to make this a yandere fic because Self Aware AUs give me yandere vibes low-key- Anyways enjoy the milkshake!
Also if any characters are ooc (out of character) I apologize since I haven’t been up to date with the stories and characters (and I cannot find the cutscene that inspired this so if you can then that would be great-)
Pt 2 Pt3
❗️TW❗️under the cut, while it’s very mild, there are implications to obsessive themes
You recall a game you used to play a while back when life didn't get so chaotic and busy, Cookie Run Oven Escape was it? It's been so long that you struggled to remember the name. But now, you look back at the game fondly, and since you have some spare time, you decide to find the game and play it.
Looking through your storage, you found the Ipad you used to play on, now you could've just downloaded it on your phone but you craved the nostalgia factor. After a quick recharge, the Ipad sprung to life, and there you saw it. Cookie Run Ovenbreak. You smile as you tap on the game icon.
Unfortunately you were hit with the update and download data notification. How annoying. You had to wait for your nostalgia hit, so you left your Ipad to update and decided to look around the internet and see what you missed.
A lot. You missed a lot. The last time you played was when Smore Cookie was released during the 7th anniversary! You looked over new story developments and character and game play, just to see if it was the same. It was but you noticed one detail that it was VERY different than what you remember.
The chat function didn't let you talk to the cookies in depth. Strange, you always remembered being able to talk to the cookies like they were actually there. You remember them helping comfort you when you got upset …
Maybe you were misremembering the game, it has been a while since you played.
You sigh and go to make yourself some food as your game continues to update. Maybe you would bake some cookies while you waited if you had the ingredients.
—————————————
Cookie Run Ovenbreak had finally updated, you were a little nervous for some odd reason but you pushed that nervousness down, it was just a game after all. A game that you remember comforted you through some really difficult times but still, just a game.
Your game opened up and you were met with a cookie you've never seen before, but they were adorable! They looked like the bear things you collected in levels but as a cookie, they had big brown eyes and a little bear plushie attached to their waist. Their hair was yellow, blue and pink and had some bear ears. The cutscene started to play out..
“Wellcome back User!” You cringed at your old user name "It's been a while since you've played so we haven't met yet… I'm Dream Jelly Cookie! I cannot wait to play together! … If you want to of course… ehehe…”
You smiled as the cutscene continued. “There been a lot that’s happened and a lot of cookies who missed you and tons to meet! Let’s all make many memories User!”
You expected the cutscene to end after that but the scene shifted to a field scene and GingerBrave popped up on screen, you remember him being your first favorite cookie, and while that might’ve changed, you remember how you always admired his bravery, even if it was silly at times.
“Welcome back User! Its been a while huh?” Gingerbraves sprite changed to a cheering one “I can’t wait to run with you again after so long…!” You felt kinda bad after that line of dialogue, I mean, you used to play so much but then you just dropped the game…
I mean this is a kids game and you got busy! It’s honestly kinda silly to get emotional over some gingerbread man! It’s not like they can acknowledge your hiatus…
Soon, Peppermint Cookie and Captain Ice Cookie were on screen. “User! I missed you… I also have more stories to tell you…” the small Peppermint reminded you of Dreamjelly from earlier. They were a kid and the guilt from Gingerbrave carried over.
“Welcome back sailor. We are lucky to have you back out on the seas.” You chuckled a little, recalling when you found out Captain Ice was a female character. That memory lightened up your mood.
The scene changed again, this time it was a pleasant forest, the blue-ish greens giving a calm atmosphere.
“Welcome back to the forest User!” Lilybell Cookie popped up on screen, you vaguely remember her from a seemingly Millennial Tree Cookie based update, at least you think it was… you remember there being a purple mushroom like cookie but other than that you have vague memories.
“It’s been a bit lonely protecting the village without you but now that your here I won’t be as lonely anymore!”
A taller, blond cookie appeared next to Lilybell. “It is quite nice of you to return to the Grass Village User.”
Bulelily was elegant but seems more casual than you expected, I mean she and Lilybell do seem like friends so that makes sense.
Suddenly, your thrown WAY off gaurd when Sugar Swan just appears out of seemingly nowhere!
I mean, if you remember correctly, she was basically the god of this cookie world. But the fact her eyes were open for once… it kinda started you since it felt like she was looking at you.
“You’ve been away for a long time User. The springs have felt much colder without you here.” Sugar Swans sprite didn’t change like most of the other cookies did “May the flowers bloom brighter with you User.”
As the scene changed, you were curious to how many more cookies would appear in this cutscene and how many more would mention how much they missed you..
The next scene you actually recognized it, it was the Longan Palace you think? You were unsure but you do recall that this was a place relevant to the dragon storyline you used to be VERY invested in
The very dragon that resides in this palace appeared on screen “You’ve returned.” There was a pause, and not one that felt natural.
The dialogue box was completely empty. No words, no dot dot dot, nothing. It was weird. But after about… 10 seconds, dialogue came back.
“I’ll be watching.”
And just like that, the scene changed. It left you feeling a little unsettled since you were expecting the “I missed you so much!” Speach that this threw you WAY off. But Longan Dragon was technically a villain from what you remember so maybe that’s why their section felt off?
Next a Christmasy scene played out, there were two cookies that you didn’t quite recognize, you might’ve seen them once or twice.
Stollen Cookie and Strawberry Cream Cookie. Stollen Cookie reminded you of a jackalope with her hair reminding you of bunny ears and the antlers on her hat and Stawberry Cream reminded you of a fox just from his silhouette
The two of them said something along the lines of being glad to meet you or something which didn’t really intrigue you. That was until Eggnog Cookie showed up.
Now you were embarrassed to admit this but at some point in time, in your mind, you replaced Santa for Eggnog Cookie. You might’ve even wrote a letter to HIM instead of ol chris cringle. So you felt a little embarrassed but also nostalgic seeing him due to seeing him again.
The TBD was the next scene and a fond memory of the story for this organization came to you.
The time travel and steampunk vibe always set apart stories from the rest of the game. And the designs for the characters were so good! They were steampunk, dystopian survivor and like 1970s (at least that’s be best you could describe Baguette and Coffee Candys outfits-)
“User! Welcome back!” Croissant Cookie appeared on screen. “While you’ve been gone, I’ve been fixing game bugs! So hopefully your game runs smoothly! Don’t want some bugs making you leave again!”
Bug fixes were a good thing, now you don’t remember the game being to buggy, besides cookies not fainting when they should and some not being able to be swapped out. So good to know bugs were patched.
Timekeeper Cookie soon appeared and that gave you a little whiplash. You thought Baguette Cookie would be the one speaking to you! Oh well, surely this will be a normal dialogue, unlike Longans!
“It was about time you came back. It was bound to happen, User.” Timekeeper had a smiling sprite that you don’t recall her having…
So that was not normal. Okay cool cool…
As the scene started to change like all the others, it paused abruptly. The TBD background mixed with another as String Gummy abruptly appeared too.
Not with any dialogue box or anything, text appeared on screen. Don’t trust that Timekeepers smile.
Then as abruptly as String Gummy appeared, he was gone.
The next scene was already up but you were freaked out a little. That felt like a bug or something. That wasn’t something that the devs would add for a retuning player unless the game secretly became a horror game!
You were going to get off the game but you saw Rougefort Cookie and decided to stay for that funky little dude.
“User! What a coincidence, I was just about to go find you” Rougefort… this spunky little criminal kinda took your mind off the past glitch. I mean they were pretty charming and you were a little curious to why they were in a town setting…
Then Electric Eel Cookie showed up! You don’t even know what they said since you were taken off guard once more that they were there.
You expect him to be with Captain Ice and Peppermint Cookie since he was an aquatic cookie… oh well.
Popping up was a character you never had seen before. They were a light cream color and reminded you of the Cookiemals except a bit more cookie than animal.
“Hello little one! I’m super glad to be meeting you!” You found it odd that they were calling you little one, but maybe that was their thing.
Looking at their name, you read Cream Ferret Cookie. Honestly now looking at their design you can see the ferret aspect now! But the said something about the town or running that you skipped over.
Then you were back to Dreamjelly. “See how many cookies have missed you and so many more that you haven’t met User?”
“Let’s go run together User and make some precious memories!” And just like that, you were at the Home Screen. You started tapping around seeing all the changes that have been made.
Little did you know, there was something brewing under the surface…
—————————————
“Timekeeper Cookie Timekeeper Cookie! Can you tell me more about User?” Dreamjelly followed Timekeeper around her time pocket, how the little cookie got in? No one knows.
“Now now little cookie, haven’t I already told you enough about them?” Timekeeper stoped for a moment and turned to ruffle Dreamjellys hair.
“You’ve only told me that they’d be my friend! I want to hear about your memories with them!” Timekeeper paused and thought for a moment before snapping
“Well here’s one story to satisfy your curiosity!” Dreamjelly looked up at the time manipulator expectantly.
“The first time the first time the two of us ran together, I reallyyyy wanted to talk to them, I was so curious that I defied the way the universe works. I made it so I could talk to them.”
“Though anyone else could also talk to them if they tried…” Timekeeper wouldn’t admit this to the young cookie but they were particularly jealous when other cookies started talking to User. Weird feeling but one that, Timekeeper felt, was vaild considering that others were leaching off her work…
Like parasites…
Dreamjellys eyes lit up “Will I be able to talk to them?!” Timekeeper froze, considering the question for a long moment. And despite their previous feelings, she couldn’t bring herself to say no.
Was it out of sympathy for the little cookie or just that User seemed to like them? Timekeeper couldn’t tell for sure… “Of course you can!”
Dreamjelly smiled brightly “Really?! When can I talk to them?” “Oh soon little one, very soon. Timekeeper ruffled the cookies hair again
“Now, how about you head back home? I have some business with a certain time jumper and dragon.”
